Becoming a God Starts with Acting

Chapter 537: [A Godless World] (5)

Chapter 537: [A Godless World] (5)

The crime scene in Room 601 had already been thoroughly cleaned by the police. The room itself had also been sealed shut, though the artists had opened it because they wanted to investigate.Fortunately, very few residents of Lotus Park dared to go anywhere near Room 601 anymore. Almost everyone on the sixth floor had already moved out, so no one noticed the group of artists.

After all, such a horrifying massacre had taken place here. Who would willingly come anywhere near this room? Lotus Park itself might even struggle to attract tenants because of the incident...

Inside the room, the white outlines marking the victims’ positions were still visible. Three victims had been found in the center of the living room, one in the bedroom, and the last in the kitchen.

Their positions appeared completely random, except for the first three victims, whose bodies had formed a distinct circle.

The police had even traced that circle, as though it represented something significant.

Ember’s gaze shifted to the opposite side of the room, near where the three victims had died in the main living area. There were obvious signs that something had once been placed there. Unfortunately, it had already been removed, most likely as part of the police investigation.

At this point, if they wanted to uncover the truth behind everything, their only options were to return to the day the tragedy occurred—or somehow obtain the police investigation files directly...

Ember’s mind was already a tangled mess, yet Adrian, standing behind him, clearly had no intention of giving him a moment’s peace.

"Why didn’t you want me to go near those two just now? You don’t like them, do you?"

"Why don’t you like them? Are they bad people?"

"I actually thought they were pretty interesting. It’s my first time seeing someone with two heads. Hahaha. And the other head could even talk."

"Ember, why aren’t you saying anything? Is it because I kicked you earlier?"

"Sorry about that, but next time don’t hit me so hard, okay? It really hurt."

"Ember..."

The vein on Ember’s forehead throbbed violently. His fist clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white.

[I’m already imagining Adrian’s head exploding like a watermelon.]

"Shut up!"

Contrary to what the viewers expected, Ember did nothing more than shout.

How utterly helpless... Especially because the moment his voice rang out, a hesitant shout came from outside the room.

"Who’s in there?!"

The door was pushed open a moment later.

"Why’s the door broken like this...? Kids these days really don’t know what fear is..."

The muttering was accompanied by footsteps drawing closer and closer...

"Get out here, all of you, now!"

The security guard roared, only to find empty rooms staring back at him. Not a single sound could be heard.

Strange. Even if someone really had been inside, they shouldn’t have been able to disappear that quickly...

He swallowed hard and shouted, putting on a brave front despite his fear, "If anyone’s in here, come out right now! I’m changing the lock later. If you don’t come out, then just wait to get trapped in here!"

As he spoke, he hurriedly backed out of the room, utterly lacking the courage to search it.

Just then, a powerful gust of wind slammed against the window with a thunderous bang.

The security guard let out a shrill yelp. It was as if his feet had been greased—he bolted without looking back.

Outside, however, the "gust of wind" named Adrian was desperately clinging to the window frame, hissing in pain from the collision a moment ago.

At the moment, both he and Ember were standing on a narrow ledge outside the building, one so thin that it couldn’t even fit the length of either of their feet.

Adrian, meanwhile, seemed to be a little afraid of heights.

"Let me correct that. I’m not afraid of heights. It’s just that this kind of situation really makes me want to cling to something."

[...]

[Then cling to Ember. I think he’d be perfect.]

[Stop trying to justify it, Adrian. You’re definitely afraid of heights.]

Ember looked at Adrian’s hand, which was gripping his upper arm so tightly that his fingernails were nearly piercing the skin. His brows furrowed so deeply that they almost met in the middle.

Finally, he raised his eyes to Adrian’s pale face.

Just as he was about to say something, Adrian pointed behind Ember’s head with a look of surprise.

"Look."

Ember stared at Adrian with an expressionless face, as if asking, Do I really look that easy to fool?

Adrian’s eyes widened.

"Why do you have so little faith in me? Besides, do you really think I’m so scared of you that I’d pull a cheap trick like trying to distract you?!"

That was true.

This guy really didn’t know what fear was.

"I never expected you to have such an accurate understanding of yourself," Ember said, shooting Adrian a glance.

"Me? What am I?" Adrian actually paused to think about it seriously before answering, "Top-tier?"

Ember: "..."

[Go butcher yourself and cook a five-star meal before posting it here!]

[The perfect example of someone with no class who still loves showing off.]

"Top-tier person?" Hahaha. Anyone who didn’t know better would think people were sold in supermarkets.

[Am I the only one who thinks he’s deliberately trying to piss Ember off?]

[That’s entirely possible.]

Ember didn’t even bother looking at Adrian anymore. He turned around and followed the direction Adrian was pointing.

Hanging outside was a mirror, tightly bound with countless intertwined red strings. Affixed to the very top was a bright yellow talisman, backed by a Bagua board.

One look was enough to tell that whatever this thing was, it couldn’t possibly be anything good.

Especially since it had appeared outside the apartment where five people had died, rather than outside every room.

[Oh, nice catch. The livestream camera angle deliberately avoided showing that spot earlier.]

[Why is this dungeon called "The Godless World"? Everywhere I look, there’s something creepy.]

[Either way, there’s no way the deaths in this family weren’t tied to superstition.]

[A classic setup, but it works. Kkkk.]

Unfortunately, the object was too far away for either of them to reach. Their current footing was already precarious enough. Even though they had long surpassed ordinary humans, a fall from the sixth floor would still kill them. And even if it didn’t, any injuries sustained inside the dungeon could easily become fatal weaknesses when they eventually faced the boss.

Sensing Ember’s unwavering gaze, Adrian tilted his head in confusion.

"What is it?"
