Chapter 836
Chapter 836
Anton and Anders had realized a major flaw in their plan to use Anton’s “Hidden World” to transfer portal scrolls from Anton to his father. Anders couldn’t bring anything out of the game. That meant they would have to find another way for Anton to submit the required number of portal scrolls every month, even if he was away from home.
Thankfully, they realized it before Anton departed with the ship Amelia. Since the ship’s departure was nearing and they couldn’t find a solution, they threw the problem to the wizards of Ormunda. The solution was actually simple. The ship had a small portal box where letters could be transferred from the ship to other places, including Ormunda. It could be used to transfer Anton’s Portal Scroll to Ormunda.
The Ormundan higher-ups already informed the ship’s authorities that Anton would be sending thirty scrolls to Ormunda every last day of the month. Normally, such a thing would cost a pretty penny, but Ormunda shouldered the expenses.
The Ormundan Wizards did inform the ship’s captain that the scrolls that Anton would be sending were the Portal Scrolls. That made the business a priority in the captain’s eyes. Everyone important knew that the portal scroll was one of the things that helped the wizards from the allied human kingdoms to defeat the Undead Coalition.
The funny thing about Anton’s leave-taking was that every member of the family was treating it as something ordinary. As if Anton was just going to the market to buy groceries. That thinking was perpetuated by the fact that every time he journeyed outside, Anton would frequently return using his portals.
“Can you return to the manor using your portal while you’re in a moving ship?” Anders asked.
“Actually, I don’t know. I’m thinking that it wasn’t possible since in my mind, the location of the portal needed to be somewhere stable or in a non-moving location. That was why we made an issue of not being able to transfer the portal scroll to Ormunda while I’m traveling with the ship,” Anton answered Anders.
“Why don’t we test it out. If we discover that you can use your portal while you’re in a moving vehicle, like a ship, it would make our lives easier. Let’s use a large wagon, and while it’s running fast, being pulled by horses, see if you build your portal on the wagon,” Anders told his son.
Anton exclaimed that it was a good idea, so they didn’t waste any more time and experimented. It was easy enough to purchase a large wagon.
Soon, Anton was inside a wagon that was moving extremely fast on one of the roads outside Ormunda. The horses that were pulling the wagon were being driven by one of his father’s men. Once Anton and Anders thought that the ship was moving fast enough, Anton used a town portal scroll inside the game. Unfortunately, he received a message from his Diablo System that portals could only be constructed in a non-moving location.
That meant that Anton couldn’t use a portal scroll while he was on the ship. It wasn’t that hopeless, though. Even though the travel to Izmorta was supposed to take one year and three or four months, the ship would stop several times on different islands along the way. Anton could take that time to return to the Rose Manor.
Truth be told, returning to the Rose Manor wasn’t a necessity, since Anton, Anders, and Anna were scheduled to meet once a month inside Anton’s “Hidden World”, which was the Multiplayer option in the Diablo II part of his Diablo System.
Anna was a little regretful, though, that she couldn’t enter Anton’s “Hidden World” by herself to level up her Paladin Class. Still, since the three of them were already in their level fifties, their second character had given them enough power, and they would still be able to level up their characters and hunt for gears during their once-a-month schedule leveling-up sessions.
If Anna wanted more power, she could level up her Sorceress class by delving into dungeons or focusing on her studies of the standard magic of this world.
In truth, people were already in awe of the power that Anders and Anna wielded. Anders’s Paladin class was around level sixty while his new Sorcerer class was in its level forties already. Anna’s Paladin Class inside Anton’s Diablo II Multiplayer option was already around level fifty, while her Sorceress class was a little lower, which was only around level twenty plus. The important thing was that both Anders and Anna could wield the skills of two Diablo II classes, and they were also wearing some of the most powerful Diablo II items.
Once their character inside Anton’s Diablo II Multiplayer option was fully geared with high-end stuff, their power would truly explode.
Anton just found it a little funny that both his father and his sister had the same Diablo II classes. Anna did consider changing her Sorcerer class, but the fact was, the Telekinesis skill of the sorceress was really useful to her. It allowed her to fly and to multitask. It can even be used as an offensive and defensive spell. It was truly powerful and versatile. Both Anton’s father and sister couldn’t let go of the Paladin class since the skills of the Paladin were truly useful in the real world. Both its healing and support spells were truly overpowered.
Anton hadn’t forgotten the fact that once the new Diablo II ladder season arrived, he could bestow a class to a third person, but in truth, he didn’t have anyone he could share his Diablo System with. He was just thankful that the option to bestow the class wouldn’t go away, even if the ladder season ended, and if not used, would just be accumulated until he reached the maximum number of people he could bestow the Diablo II classes with, which was seven people.
Even though Anton and Anders’s experiment regarding the portal in a moving vehicle was a failure, it didn’t affect them too much. They simply had too many options to meet with each other, even if Anton was far from home.
On his last day in Ormunda, Anton spent the time exploring the World of Diablo II together with his father and his sister. After that, the day to leave had finally arrived.
The only one who accompanied Anton to the pier was Anders. The rest of the family was busy with their own things. Everyone thought that more than likely, Anton would be back after a few days, as usual. They didn’t know that the next time they would see Anton was after around five months, which was the scheduled stop that the ship Melinda would have on one of the islands along the way toward Izmorta.
After hugging his father goodbye, Anton boarded the ship. He wouldn’t be able to see his family for a month, and the only ones he would meet were Anders and Anna inside the Multiplayer option of his Diablo II game.
Anton was filled with excitement. He would now start a new adventure in a brand new continent. He would meet new friends, discover exciting new places, and learn more about the magic of this world that would help him reach his goal of becoming a multidimensional adventurer.
He was led to his room, and once Anton saw it, he was satisfied with its size. It wasn’t too big, but it did have several rooms. It was well-decorated, proving the fact that it was a room that could only be rented by the very rich. He wondered how much Raymond had paid to rent the room.
