My Favorite Game Followed Me!

Chapter 838

Chapter 838

Anton walked towards the middle of the ship, where most of those who had middle incomes stayed. He preferred staying with normal folks because they were the ones who seemed to know how to enjoy their lives the best.He wasn’t garnering any unusual looks since he was wearing ordinary clothes that any youth would wear. He joined the people on the balcony and waved at the people on the pier, even though he didn’t know anyone there. His father had already left. Besides, with the number of people on the pier, anyone there would be happy to see passengers waving back at them. At least for Anton, he would be since it would appear to him that the people were sympathetic toward him in wishing bon voyage to those close to him who were leaving on the ship.

What Anton liked most about this goodbye was that the people were full of excitement and joy. For the brand new adventure that everyone would undertake in going to a new place. There was no fear, anxiousness, or desperation, unlike when he departed from Rendindura with his family.

Anton kept waving his hands towards the people on the pier while the boat was slowly moving away from land. On his left side were three middle-aged men who looked so much alike that they couldn’t be anything but brothers, and on his right were a family consisting of a fat man who looked like a minor noble or a very rich merchant based on his and his family’s clothes. The fat man was together with a woman his age who might be his wife, and they were accompanied by four youths, which more than likely their children. The two boys seemed to be his age, and the two girls looked three or four years younger than the boys.

Once the ship started moving faster and they couldn’t see the pier anymore, the people who were waving finally stopped. Anton saw that aside from the joy and excitement, the expressions on the faces of the people on the balcony were now tinged with melancholy.

Anton understood why some of the people were sad. Since Izmorta or whichever lands they would travel to would be far from the Gale Continent, more than likely, they wouldn’t be seeing their relatives and friends that they had left behind anymore.

He was grateful that, unlike them, Anton could return to his family once he reached a stable land via his Town Portal. Not only that, he would be able to meet with his father and his sister inside the Multiplayer option of the Diablo II part of his Diablo System.

“Young man, are you alone?” The fat man suddenly asked when he finally noticed Anton, who was by himself.

The people nearby who heard the fat man’s question looked at them with curiosity.

“Yes, I’m alone, Sir. I wanted to go to Izmorta to join a magical organization there. Based on my research, the magic organizations in Izmorta were mighty,” Anton replied.

“You are correct, young man! My family is actually from Izmorta, and we’re now going home since I wanted my children to join the White Orchid Organization there. My ancestor used to be a member and managed to reach the Invincible Rank with the help of White Orchid group. They’re very strict, though. Once you’ve become a member, as long as you’re an apprentice, you will not be able to go outside of the academies,” The fat man said.

“My name is Anton, sir.” Anton introduced himself since he wanted to talk further with the fat man, who seemed to know a lot about the magical organization in Izmorta, being a native there.

“I’m Mercurio, and this is my wife, Irata. These are my children, Elmond, Frinz, Ophelia, and Joana,” The fat man introduced himself and his family.

“May I invite you to lunch in the Revere? My treat, of course,” Anton named the restaurant located in the upper part of the ship.

The restaurant was supposed to be one of the most exclusive on the ship and could only be afforded by the very rich.

“The Revere?! From what I’ve heard, the prices of the food there were over the top. Why do you want to invite my family and me?”

“I want to pick your brain regarding the magical organization in Izmorta, and since I consider the information that I’ll be getting from you as valuable, it’s just right that I treat you there.”

The fat man who called himself Mercurio looked intrigued enough to agree with Anton’s invitation. At the very least, he didn’t scoff unbelievingly at what Anton had said, unlike some of the other people nearby who started looking at Anton with disdain. Because of that, Anton considered Mercurio a wise man since he didn’t judge Anton based on what he looked like. Even if Anton was lying, the only result was that they would be turned away from the restaurant, but if he was telling the truth, Mercurio and his family would be able to eat somewhere nice for lunch.

Anton flagged a ship’s crew and asked for assistance in guiding them to the Revere restaurant. Thankfully, he knew about the restaurant because Captain Ormez mentioned it in passing when they were talking inside Anton’s rooms.

Soon, a crew would be bringing him more documents that would contain all the information that the ship Melinda could offer its passengers.

After walking for several minutes, they finally arrived at the Revere restaurant. Anton was actually expecting to be stopped since he didn’t look like someone who could afford to eat in such a place, if people would be basing his requirement to eat there on his clothes, but no face-slapping situation occurred.

The host at the entrance of the restaurant guided them to a table large enough for Anton and his guest.

Once they were seated, Anton asked his question to the maître d ’ regarding why everything was going smoothly for him. The man said that everyone who needed to know the most important people had already received the information, including their images. Anton was one of them. Since Anton didn’t ask his question in a discreet manner, Mercurio and his family overheard the restaurant host's answers. It causes Mercury and his family’s eyes to glitter. They now knew that Anton was someone extremely important, so it would be important for them to ingratiate themselves with him.

Anton and his guest were given menus, and after ordering, they were informed that the wait time would be around thirty minutes. While they waited, Anton started asking questions.

From Mercurio, Anton learned that Izmorta hosted several magical organizations, of which White Orchid was one. One of the most important things that Anton had learned was that the magical organizations were categorized into three kinds. White, Neutral, and Black, which in truth was the utmost simplification of the classes of magical organization in the continent of Izmorta.

Basically, “White” magical organization followed basic human decency and would mostly follow the laws of the different kingdoms in Izmorta. The wizards in a “White” organization would strive to co-exist with their neighbors peacefully. “Black” organization was a magical organization that strived for power and didn’t care who they trampled in doing so. According to Mercurio, some of the “Black” organizations were almost as bad as the Undead Coalition.

The “Neutral” organizations were just like their name. They mostly left others alone, but wouldn’t hesitate to harm others if they found a resource they needed to progress their power.
