Chapter 842
Chapter 842
If Anton was being honest, the allure of the luxury that Earth could offer wasn’t much of a temptation to him anymore. Yes, he still loved watching movies, anime, and television shows, and he still loved reading novels, manga, donghua, and Western comic books, but he could do all of those through his Diablo System even without going back on Earth. If he were able to return to Earth, there was no doubt that Anton would be able to enjoy life there, but he knew that for him, who had already experienced the glory of magic, mundane life on Earth would go stale fast. The allure of seeing different worlds, maybe even seeing a world steeped in future technology as shown in the science fiction films and television series back on Earth, like Star Trek or Star Wars, could be possible. It would be grand to travel the universe within a humongous starship. Or maybe discover a world full of cultivators instead of wizards. That would truly be a sight for sore eyes.
Just imagining those things was making Anton’s blood boil. With everything that happened to him, he was extremely glad that he was chosen by his system since the possibilities presented to him were wonderfully endless.
After looking at the ocean for several minutes, Anton decided to roam other parts of the ship. He would be taking his time since he had plenty of those. While walking slowly, he passed by a magic shop. Anton entered it and started browsing the items being offered. While doing so, he knew that he wouldn’t have an issue with his finances since if he needed funds, he could just tell his father, and Anders could send him some through the small portal that the ship had that it used for small packages.
The cost would be considerable, but one thing the family didn’t have a problem with was wealth.
Anton could also sell magic items that he could craft. He still had plenty of magic metals that Team Gorvin gave him to create his magic tablets.
Still, those things were just in case, since he did still have plenty of funds left. After examining the magic items, he didn’t find anything that interested him, so he left. He went to the magic bookstore adjacent to the magic item shop, but unfortunately, the spellbooks being offered were ordinary ones, and Anton already had a copy of all of them. He remembered the time when he purchased all the available spellbooks that magic bookstores could offer when he was in New Drennor. He spent a lot of gold coins back then, and most of the spellbooks were just waiting for him inside his inventory.
Unfortunately, the spellbooks he had managed to purchase back then were only below the archmage rank spells. It was understandable since most archmage rank and above spellbooks were only available within certain magical organizations like the magic academies in Ormunda and New Drennor.
In truth, Anton didn’t really care too much about the spells within the standard magic of this world since he preferred using the spells of his Diablo characters. If he really wanted it, he could probably acquire some of those hard-to-get spells since he was considered an honorary student of Anna’s magic academy.
Since Anton had decided to start from scratch once he joined an organization in Izmorta, he would just follow the instructions of the wizards within his chosen organization, including memorizing and utilizing the spells they would indicate he should memorize. After browsing the product, he left without purchasing anything. He knew that some of the shop assistants were looking at him in askance since he probably didn’t look rich enough to be able to afford the things they were offering.
The reason why the staff didn’t choose to shoo him off was the fact that he was able to roam around in the area nonchalantly. If he truly didn’t belong in the area, which was supposed to be the area for the very rich passengers of Melinda, the guards would have captured him and brought him to the place where he belonged.
Anton could have chosen to wear something befitting his rank, but he chose comfort instead. He really didn’t care about the opinion of others as long as he was decent and clean and wasn’t disturbing anyone. If someone wanted to get on his face just because of what he was wearing, a single spell would teach them not to bother him. Thankfully, nothing of that sort happened, which was a pity because he wanted to experience a face-slapping scenario, even just once.
What Anton didn’t know was that even though he was wearing what he considered ordinary clothes, his stature and bearing clearly stated that he was a youth of power, and no one would mistakenly accost him because of his clothing if they had a smidgen of intelligence.
While walking around, Anton felt sleepy, so he decided to return to his room to take a nap. The main issue was that he was lost. He simply flagged a crew who was easily identified through the uniform they were wearing and asked the man to lead him back to his room.
When he arrived in his rooms, Anton activated a Frozen Orb Air Conditioner with his huge window open and slept on the large reclining chair overlooking the ocean. Before he slept, he felt extremely comfortable, and the only thing Anton could think of during that moment was that he was happy.
For a few days, Anton didn’t even bother roaming around somewhere else and just stayed within the area where the very rich passengers stayed. He just felt…lazy and relaxed. He would wake up, eat a nice breakfast, buy a nice book, and read it while sipping coffee in one of the many cafes littering the ship’s section for the rich. Once in a while, he would go to the deck to gaze at the ocean, and if get tired of it, he would return to his room to watch a movie, a television show, or an anime.
He hadn’t even bothered watching any plays in the many theaters near his rooms. Although at first he intended to swim in the swimming pool, he also skipped doing it, thinking that since he had plenty of time while aboard the ship, he would do it later. Anton wanted to enjoy his relaxed, alone time, fully intending to milk the vibe until he craved adventures.
On the agreed time and date of his supposed adventure in the world of Diablo II with his father and his sister, Anton created a new game in the Multiplayer of his Diablo II system. After a minute, Anders and Anna entered the game.
For the first hour, Anton, Anders, and Anna didn’t do anything but just talked. Anton told them of his lazy days aboard the ship. He told them of his daily activities until he noticed that both his father and his sister were looking at him with envy.
“What?” Anton asked when he saw their expression.
Apparently, both Anders and Anna were busy. Anders was busy with his new wife and his mercenary business, and Anna was also busy with her studies. Anton’s sister also returned to delving into the dungeon to level up her Sorceress character.
Anna was driven to level up her real-world Sorceress class because Anders had successfully converted the Blizzard Spell into Mana Rain. Since Anna’s Sorceress class wasn’t level thirty yet, she couldn’t do the same.
Now that Anders was able to cast Mana Rain, Anton’s father had taken over in maintaining the manor’s garden, orchard, and grain fields.
