Chapter 843
Chapter 843
Anton, Anders, and Anna’s adventure in the world of Diablo II via the Multiplayer option in Anton’s Diablo System was relaxing for all three of them. The hours spent mindlessly killing monsters while they talked about what happened in their everyday lives were truly a form of bonding for the three of them.In truth, Anton felt that meeting with his father and his sister once a month was still a form of tie to them that might not be that healthy. As a powerful grown wizard, someone like him should have been independent and should have mostly met with his family once in a blue moon, but the fact was, Anton’s responsibility of providing portal scrolls to the Ormundan government couldn’t be avoided since he did promise them that. Since he couldn’t avoid it, Anton thought that, since it’s unavoidable, at least for one more year, why not use it as an excuse to meet with his father and his sister monthly, too?
The fact was, Anton had provided his father and his sister all the help he could so they could have their own power, and even if he disappeared, he didn’t doubt that Anders and Anna would continue to live well.
Still, Anton couldn’t deny that he couldn’t help himself but care for his father and his sister too much. When he was on Earth, he had been alone for a long time, and it was an extremely lonely time for him. Finally, having a loving family in his second world fulfilled some deep-seated need inside him, and he had to make sure that that family was safe and sound.
Besides, in both worlds, Earth and this new one, Anton was young, so it didn’t matter that he still wanted to be close to his family. Why shouldn’t he enjoy it while it was present? He knew that there would come a time when he would truly separate from them, so he wasn’t in a rush to leave them.
Even though their classes inside the Multiplayer option of Anton’s Diablo II part of his Diablo system were all in their level fifties, which meant that the power it was providing them in the real world was huge, continuing to level up and hunting for gear was still extremely useful for the three of them. Mostly for Anders and Anna, though, since Anton was already enjoying several sets of Diablo II gears from his Single Player option, his gear in the real world, his gear from Diablo Immortal, and finally, his gear from the Multiplayer option. The best part was that all of those items were being reflected in the real world, so Anton’s power was staggering.
Anton had an inkling that he was more powerful than any wizard with the same rank as him.
He wondered about reaching the Invincible Rank. Anton didn’t have any idea how he would reach it. Based on what he could feel, his stats alone weren’t the only ones needed to reach the Invincible Rank. There was something…more that was needed, and he didn’t have an idea of what it was.
That was one of the things he planned to research once he joined a magical organization in Izmorta.
Anton, Anna, and their father played for six hours. They were satisfied with their gains from Anton’s Multiplayer option. After that, they left the game to return to their usual lives.
After leaving the game, Anton went outside to eat dinner. Since he hadn’t completed his goal of tasting all the food that the Revere offered. After that, Anton decided to roam around since it was still early.
During the past few days, he had explored the few floors that were supposedly for the very rich. He had to admit that during those days, he felt like a tourist roaming around the streets of a nice and rich, though small, city. The bookstores, restaurants, and cafes provided a relaxing vibe that somewhat settled his mind.
Anton felt ready to experience the more exciting offering of the ship, which was located in the middle part of Melinda. The middle part could be considered the true hub of the ship, where everyone was welcome. From the very rich to the very poor and from the most powerful to the most pathetic.
The “Middle” was where everything was located, like the party halls, swimming pools, casinos, red light districts, risqué theaters, as well as the more mundane shops that sell all kinds of things like clothes, accessories, shoes, hats, and more.
There was even an honest-to-goodness petting zoo that hosted the cutest animals. Of course, that establishment catered to the rich since the poor usually looked upon baby animals as food, which highly amused Anton. There was a theater that presented shows that one would usually see in a circus, like acrobatic performances and animal performances. Anton imagined that it was similar to that Cirque du Soleil show on Earth, which was just his theory because he really didn’t know anything about that circus show. The only thing he knew about it was the snippets that he had seen on the internet.
Anton was amused to see that there were shows for adults like the Burlesque theater, and a crier from the said theater whispered to him that there were times when the most risqué shows would be presented in the wee hours of the morning. Based on the context, it was most likely live porn. Since Anton was a young man full of hormones, he was tempted, and more than likely, sooner or later, he would watch it, but for now, he was still in the process of exploring the “Middle”.
As mentioned, there were swimming pools, but what Anton found a little scandalous was that there were clothing options and no clothing options for some of them. He would have been tempted to check it out as well, but held off when he saw that the no clothing option was filled with fat, rich, old men who wanted to see naked little girls. For a brief moment, Anton was tempted to bombard the place with Fireballs.
Anton bought a ticket for a boxing match when he found out that the boxers were normal folks. He joined in on the fun and cheered with the audience, even though he actually didn’t know who to cheer for.
After watching the boxing match, Anton continued walking around. Sometimes, he would feel hands on him attempting to pickpocket him, which he just ignored. Unfortunately, for those pickpockets, he wasn’t carrying anything valuable since most of his belongings were inside his Inventory. He even felt some spells being cast on him. He knew that those spells, which just fizzled out since his magical defenses were through the roof, were some form of illusion spells. More than likely, someone attempted to use spells to honeytrap him or something, but he just ignored those. At the very least, when their spells fizzled out, they would run immediately, knowing that they had attempted to cast a spell on someone who was well protected, and someone like that wouldn’t bode well for those small-time criminals.
All in all, his first night in the “Middle” was thoroughly enjoyable. It was almost three in the morning when he returned to his rooms. He had to ask for help from one of the crew since he got lost again. Anton decided that next time, he would summon a couple of Ravens that would help guide him back to his rooms, since it was a little embarrassing for him to always request help. He didn’t want to feel like Zoro from One Piece, who was always lost.
