Chapter 347 Adoption
Chapter 347 Adoption
Yang Mi looked up at the sky, then at his watch, then turned around and said to Zhang Jianjun beside him: "Jianjun, time flies so fast. It's already afternoon. What should we do next? Should we find food first, or tidy up the camp first?"
Zhang Jianjun looked around, observed for a while, picked up the backpack on the ground, and replied: "How about this, let's go back first, the wild fruits we picked today are enough for several of us to eat. After returning to the camp, we will sort out our things."
When Yang Mi and Reba heard this, they immediately picked up their backpacks full of wild fruits and followed Zhang Jianjun closely.
Zhang Jianjun led Yang Mi and Reba and continued to move forward towards the cave where they lived.
After walking for a while, the three finally returned to the camp.
The trees on this island grow very densely and the wild fruit resources are also quite abundant.
After entering the cave, Zhang Jianjun found an open space and put down his backpack.
Yang Mi and Reba followed suit and put their backpacks aside.
Then, Zhang Jianjun began to organize his things. He sorted and arranged the wild fruits he had picked, and checked whether other survival tools were intact.
At this time, Yang Mi noticed something unusual at the entrance of the cave. He walked closer and found a small wild beast lying there.
It seemed injured and blood was flowing from its leg.
"Hey, look here!" Yang Mi pointed at the little beast and shouted.
Zhang Jianjun and Reba rushed over after hearing the noise. Seeing the injured little beast, Zhang Jianjun said thoughtfully, "Maybe we can save its life."
So the three of them decided to take care of the little beast together, bandage its wounds and find some food for it.
Under the careful care of the three people, the little beast's injuries gradually improved.
One morning a few days later, when Zhang Jianjun woke up, he was surprised to find that the little beast was gone.
He quickly woke up Yang Mi and Reba, and everyone started looking around.
Finally, they found it in a tree outside the cave.
The little beast looked to have fully recovered and was hopping happily among the branches.
Just as the three were happy about the little beast's recovery, a loud noise was heard in the distance.
They looked towards the source of the sound vigilantly, only to see a huge beast walking towards them.
Zhang Jianjun's heart tightened, realizing that danger was approaching.
He quickly called Yang Mi and Reba to prepare for the fight. A life-and-death battle was about to begin...
Zhang Jianjun gripped the weapon tightly in his hand and stared firmly at the approaching beast.
Yang Mi and Reba huddled together, and a tense atmosphere filled the air.
Suddenly, the beast let out a roar and pounced on them.
Zhang Jianjun was not afraid at all. He dodged the attack by moving sideways.
He swung the spear in his hand and stabbed it into the beast's belly.
The beast howled in pain and turned to pounce on Reba.
Seeing this, Yang Mi rushed forward without hesitation and pushed Reba away, but he was scratched by the beast's sharp claws.
Blood stained his clothes red, but he ignored the pain and continued to fight the beast.
Zhang Jianjun took the opportunity to attack again and hit the beast in the eye with his spear.
The beast became even crazier after this severe blow, and it opened its bloody mouth, ready to launch the final attack.
At this moment, the little beast rushed out from nowhere, jumped directly onto the back of the beast, and bit its neck tightly.
The beast struggled to shake off the smaller beast, but the smaller beast held on tightly.
Finally, the beast fell to the ground and did not move.
Yang Mi, Reba and Zhang Jianjun sat on the ground tiredly, looking at each other, with smiles of surviving a disaster on their faces.
The little beast ran over and rubbed their legs, as if to thank them for saving its life.
Then the three of them looked at the big beast on the ground with their eyes shining. They had not eaten fresh meat for a long time on this deserted island.
So Zhang Jianjun, Yang Mi and Reba quickly cut up the beast.
A fire was lit. Getting ready for the barbecue.
The aroma of barbecue filled the air, whetting the appetite of the three people. They sat around the fire and enjoyed this rare delicacy.
"Well, I haven't eaten such delicious meat for a long time!" Yang Mi said with satisfaction while chewing the barbecue in his mouth.
"Yes, this time it's all thanks to the little beast's help." Reba stroked the little beast's head and said with a smile.
Zhang Jianjun looked at the little beast, and something occurred to him. He said, "Why don't we give it a name?"
"Okay, what should I call it?" Yang Mi pondered.
"How about calling us 'Xiao Bei'?" Reba suggested.
"Xiaobei, not bad, not bad!" Yang Mi nodded repeatedly to show his agreement.
The little beast seemed to like the name as well and barked excitedly twice.
After eating and drinking, the three decided to explore the island again. They took Xiaobei and walked along the coastline, hoping to make new discoveries.
On the way, they came across a clear stream, with gurgling water and green trees all around, like a paradise.
"It's so beautiful here!" Reba couldn't help but exclaim.
"Maybe there are other animals living nearby." Zhang Jianjun said, and began to look around.
Sure enough, it wasn't long before they found some traces of hares. Zhang Jianjun skillfully set up several traps, waiting for the prey to take the bait.
Xiaobei was running happily by the side, stopping from time to time to smell the flowers and plants.
In the evening, the sun was setting, and the afterglow was shining on the sea, making the waves sparkle. Zhang Jianjun and his team took the captured hares and set out on the road back to the camp.
"It seems that we have a source of food in the future." Yang Mi said happily.
“Not only that, if we can catch more rabbits, we can raise them,” Reba suggested.
"That's right, this way we can survive on the island for a long time." Zhang Jianjun agreed.
Back at the camp, they started to build a simple rabbit cage. Xiao Bei watched curiously and occasionally stretched out his paw to help.
After a busy period, the rabbit cage was finally built. Zhang Jianjun put a few rabbits in it and then dusted off his hands.
"Okay, let's wait for tomorrow's harvest." He said with a smile.
At night, with stars twinkling in the sky, the three of them sat around the campfire and shared their experiences of the day.
"Today is such a fulfilling day." Reba said with emotion.
"Yes, but don't forget to be vigilant. There may be other dangers on this island." Zhang Jianjun reminded.
"Don't worry, we all feel safe with you here." Yang Mi patted Zhang Jianjun's shoulder.
They fell asleep to the warmth of the campfire and the sound of the waves, looking forward to the days ahead.
