Chapter 828: Fighting Up The Hill

"I never actually got your names," I pointed out.

"I am so sorry! I am Sorria! This is Kira, Dida and Tensay!" She introduced, gesturing to herself, the tank, the archer and then the mage in that order.

I nodded at her, "I am Aster and my party members here--"

"Unnecessary," Eins interrupted.

I turned to look at Eins in surprise.

Eh? Oh... She doesn't want them to know their names?

That was definitely unexpected... But I guess since we most likely wouldn't be meeting them after this, there was no need to tell them either.

Sorria waved her hand quickly, "Ah, that's ok! I understand why you might want to hide your names! It's alright, really!"

Whoops, she must have thought I was worried Eins offended her or something and she didn't want there to be a disagreement between us.

I simply nodded at her, "Alright then, do you need some time to prepare, Sorria?"

She shook her head, "We're all ready to go at your command!"

"Alright then... Charge!!"

The four girls led the way into the boss room, their weapons drawn and prepared for the boss fight.

Their tank, Kira, had her shield up as she charged while the other three followed behind her.

Right behind them was myself and my Shadow Guards, though we were admittedly more relaxed than they were.

As soon as all of us entered the boss room, the Minotaur Warband Leader stomped his foot on the ground and eight Dungeon Minotaurs appeared at the bottom of the hill.

They let out an intimidating roar before arranging themselves in a line, forming a wall to block us.

Hmm... The number of summons is the same as the number of people here... I wonder if that was a coincidence or was it deliberate?

Heedless of the number of monsters in front of her, Kira charged towards the wall of minotaurs with her shield raised while letting out a battlecry.

The minotaurs in the centre braced themselves to receive the charge, expecting themselves to be able to stop the charging Mahun who was only about three quarters their size.

Right before Kira hit the minotaur wall however, she let out another shout.

"[Battering Ram]!"

Her shield glowed and she smashed into the two minotaurs in the centre.

Instead of stopping her, the two minotaurs got sent flying back and that Valour Skill seemed to have an effect of amplifying the area of the shield bash as the two minotaurs that had been standing beside the first two also got sent flying.

The three girls behind her followed after their tank, taking advantage of the chaos to start attacking the minotaurs who were still disoriented from the attack.

A metallic spike appeared above the mage which she then shot towards the minotaur in the centre.

Either because it was too slow to react or these minotaurs were summoned to hold firm no matter what happened, the minotaur did not avoid the spike and it impaled itself into its chest.

The spike then started to glow before lightning sparked out from the tip, striking the minotaur to the right of the one that had been impaled by the spike.

Both of their bodies seized up as the electrical currents paralysed them, not even allowing them to scream out in pain.

"Now!" Sorria yelled, charging forward.

Kira also charged beside her, right as another streak of lightning arced out to strike the minotaur on the left of the spike.

Dida pulled back on her bow and sucked in a breath, "[Piercing Gale]!"

The arrow glowed right before it was shot out from her bow with a blast of wind, streaking across the distance and blowing a hole through the first minotaur's chest.

Another arc of lightning shot out from the spike to strike the second minotaur, this time killing it as it was blown back in an explosion of sparks.

Sorria reached the third minotaur that was still paralysed and leapt up into the air with both her swords held high.

"[Guillotine]!"

Her swords became a flash of red light as her body blurred downwards, cutting the minotaur into three.

Another three minotaurs appeared slightly higher up the hill which consisted of two Minotaur Guards and... Holy crap, is that a Steel Minotaur?!

While the newly summoned Minotaur Guards remained where they were, the Steel Minotaur let out a roar and charged towards us.

Sorria was unfortunate enough to be in his path and it looked like she didn't have time to jump to safety and was about to get crushed.

"[Battering Ram]!" Kira roared, slamming herself against the side of the charging monster with her shield.

That managed to send the monster off its original path, causing it to slam itself into the back of another Minotaur Guard and squashing it under its weight.

Unfortunately for Kira, she did not escape unscathed as she wasn't able to completely negate the impact and got sent flying back.

One of the Minotaur Guards took that opportunity to turn around and raise its halberd, swinging it down right as Kira came into range.

The poor girl was smashed into the ground right before another halberd came thrusting down to skewer her abdomen.

She didn't even get to scream as another halberd descended and lopped her head off, killing the tank.

Oh shit... Are you girls really sure that--

Light enveloped her corpse before she suddenly disappeared to reappear in the air, completely good as new except she was now bound by chains that hung from the ceiling and she looked to be unconscious.

Ok... So that's how that works... Good to know.
