Chapter 889 A Big Flip
Chapter 889 A Big Flip
Both Mother and I stood over the Ifrit who was still looking up at us with an expression that looked like she still could not understand what was happening.
I gave the Ifrit a fake smile, "So... Do you still want to continue?"
The Ifrit blinked for a moment, as though needing a moment to register what I just said.
Eventually, her brows furrowed and the flames around her flared up once again.
"You... you really think you can come into my home and disrespect me like this?!"
Continue your journey at empire
I raised a finger, "Weren't you the one who invited us in here to challenge your home in the first place?"
Her flames flared up before suddenly sputtering down to a low burn, probably because she realised that what I said was true.
She pointed a finger at me, "This... That... This isn't what I meant when I said to challenge the Dungeon! You're... You're disrespecting us!"
This time, it was Mother who spoke up, "Ara, ara? Was there a rule that we needed to respect you while we are challenging a Dungeon? Why don't you get your master to come out here and tell us that on his own, hmm?"
The Ifrit leapt back on her feet, "You really think that my Master is someone that can be called to meet you on a whim?!"
Mother giggled, "Ufufufu~ If I wanted him to meet me, he would have no choice but to meet me, you silly thing~"
As if to prove her point, Mother reached out her hand and a black ball formed in the air in front of her palm.
The Ifrit suddenly let out a gasp and her figure turned translucent before she dematerialised from where she had been standing, only to rematerialise in front of Mother, her throat placed directly in front of Mother's hand.
Mother grabbed her by the throat and the Ifrit tried to free herself but Mother's hand did not even budge.
Mother let her struggle against her grip for a moment before she shifted the Ifrit in front of me.
I pulled back my fist before punching it forward, smashing my fist into her abdomen.
Mother released her grip on the Ifrit, allowing the force of my punch to blow her back to where she had been before she got teleported.
"Ufufufu~ That was a nice punch my little one~" Mother giggled, right before she pulled me into a hug.
"Mnnnffff..." I mumbled into Mother's chest.
The Ifrit rolled onto her back, groaning at the pain of getting punched and choked.
Oof... I might have punched her a little too hard.
I even intentionally held back my strength too...
Oh wait... Her Endurance stats isn't that high... I guess I should have held back even more.
I pulled myself out of Mother's embrace to look in the Ifrit's direction, "Should I heal her, Mommy?"
"Ara, ara? My little one is really kind~ If my little one wishes to, go ahead~"
The Trapping Arachnid leaned over me and she brought her face right up against mine to show me her smile, "I told you to watch your back~"
She then retreated back into the darkness and she started swinging through the trees with me strapped on her back.
Ok... Where is she bringing me though?
She only managed to swing a few times through the trees when a sudden burst of flames came from below to burn the air in front of the Trapping Arachnid, forcing her to redirect her swing to avoid it.
She stopped on one of the trees and looked below us in annoyance, trying to see who was the one who shot the blast of fire at her.
I thought it was Mother who shot the fire blast but when I looked down, I found the Ifrit flying towards us with a ball of fire prepared in one of her hands.
She thrusted that hand forward and another fire blast was shot towards the Trapping Arachnid, the Ifrit apparently trying to burn her fellow Monster Girl.
The Trapping Arachnid let out a hiss of annoyance as she had to leap towards another tree to avoid the fire blast.
"What do you think you're doing?!" The Arachnid shouted.
"Give her back you bitch! How dare you kidnap her?!"
"What are you talking about?! Aren't we both on the same side?! Why are you helping the intruders instead of Master?!"
"She is not an intruder! She is nice! And warm! And kind! And really, really warm!"
What is she even talking about?
My sentiments were shared with the Arachnid as she shouted back, "Have you gone insane?! Are you betraying Master right now?!"
"I don't care! She's a nice person! Give her back or I'll burn you!!"
The Ifrit conjured another fireball in her hand to show that she was absolutely serious, prompting the Arachnid to swing away to try and escape from the Ifrit.
Ok... Let me get this straight... I beat up the Ifrit a little... Then I went ahead to heal her... So now she's on my side for some reason?
I don't even... You know what? I'm not going to question it...
The Trapping Arachnid quickly spun her hands in the air and it looked like a web was forming around her hands into the shape of a ball before she suddenly turned back to toss the web ball at the Ifrit.
The Ifrit threw her fireball at the web ball and the two projectiles clashed in the middle.
I was fully expecting the fire to burn through the web but the moment they made contact, the web ball suddenly exploded into a wall of web that even the fire had trouble burning through.
The Ifrit ended up needing to stop for a moment to materialise an even bigger fireball that she used to burn away the web that was sent flying towards her, letting the fire consume the entire wall of web before she continued to chase after me.
That was when I realised that Mother was also following behind the Ifrit albeit at a distance.
I guess she already knew that the Ifrit would try to rescue me and thus saw no need for me to be captured by the Arachnid.
The fact that she was smiling and giggling below the Ifrit pretty much proved that I was right.
I guess... I'll just stay like this like an obedient prisoner then...
