Chapter 842 - 842: The Capital Of Magic II

Chapter 842 - 842: The Capital Of Magic II

Serys stared at him for a few seconds.A gentle breeze passed through the tower's central square, stirring the robes of the mages. Hundreds of people moved around them, but at that moment, it was as if none of them existed.

"You really came..." Disbelief rippled in her gaze.

"You don't trust me? I said I'd come, and I came. I made you a promise, and I keep my promises." Daniel answered without the slightest change in his expression.

"But just like this? Wouldn't it have been better to give me time to make some preparations?"

"What preparations did you want to make? It's not like we have much time anyway."

"Fine... just come." Serys sighed and nodded, but inside, she wasn't just not upset or angry; she was actually very happy.

At least this man had kept his word and had truly come to help her.

'But why can't I sense any power from him?' She suddenly frowned and tried to assess Daniel again, but she couldn't feel the slightest energy from him, as if he were an ordinary mortal.

But on the other hand, when she looked at him, she felt a sense of awe, and every cell of her body trembled.

She calmed herself, pushed her thoughts aside, turned, and began to move through the tower's stone streets.

Daniel quietly followed.

From the moment of entry, the grandeur of this place had caught his attention, but now that he was seeing it up close, he understood even better why the Central Magic Tower was considered one of the world's greatest powers.

Because this wasn't a tower at all. It was a complete city. A city built in the heart of the ocean. Massive stone buildings stretched to the horizon.

Floating magical bridges connected the various towers. Rivers of liquid mana flowed in special channels, their blue light illuminating the streets.

In the sky, mages moved on flying discs. Massive summoned creatures moved between the towers.

Magical ships docked at floating piers.

And above them all... the main tower.

A massive pillar of white stone and mysterious metals rising from the island's heart, so tall that its upper part disappeared into the clouds.

Daniel looked at it for a few moments. Even among all the things he had seen in recent years, this structure still seemed magnificent.

Serys noticed his gaze.

"Seeing it for the first time? Haven't you even seen paintings of it before?"

Daniel nodded.

"Up close, yes. First time."

Serys smiled faintly.

"Some say the main tower is older than more than half the countries in the world."

They entered one of the wide streets. Hundreds of mages moved about on both sides.

"Tell me about the tower's structure. If I'm going to do something, I need to be familiar with the environment." Daniel paused briefly and asked.

"The tower is divided into five main rings." Serys said as they walked.

She gestured to the surrounding buildings.

"The outer ring is where the students live. More than a hundred thousand people live here."

They walked a bit further, and the architecture of the buildings slowly changed. More magnificent, more complex, and filled with magical arrays.

"The second ring is for the professors."

"The third ring holds the secret laboratories and research departments."

"The fourth ring is the domain of the Grand Mages and Divine Mages."

"And the fifth ring..." Her gaze went toward the central tower.

"The Supreme Council and the tower's leader."

"Each ring consists of dozens of floors and is very large."

Daniel remained silent. An interesting structure. The closer you got to the center, the more power you held. A structure that had endured for thousands of years.

A structure that wouldn't collapse easily.

Along the way, he gradually noticed something else. A name that was constantly repeated.

Lioran.

Two students were talking.

"Did you hear the succession ceremony is in two weeks?"

"It seems the outcome is already decided."

Several professors stood by a building.

"Professor Lioran is truly the most worthy candidate."

"The tower's future is secure."

Even here, which practically wasn't part of the tower's main centers, support announcements could be seen on the walls of some buildings.

Signatures of professors, senior mages, influential figures, all in support of one person.

Lioran.

Daniel quietly looked around. Serys hadn't exaggerated. The situation was truly bad.

Very bad.

Lioran's influence had spread so widely that the tower's atmosphere felt more like his personal domain. From the corner of his eye, he noticed several people change their path upon seeing Serys.

Several others averted their gaze. They didn't even greet her. Serys pretended not to notice.

But Daniel saw.

And that was enough to understand how isolated this girl was. He needed to find a way to solve this.

And fortunately, he already had an idea. The best way was to shatter the legend.

"How old is this place?" After a while, he asked to change the atmosphere.

Serys thought for a moment.

"No one knows exactly, but it's older than most current empires."

They passed by a massive statue. A statue of a man holding a long staff.

"Some of history's greatest mages came from here. Many modern magics were first developed inside this very tower."

"Even some kings personally traveled here for consultation."

Daniel nodded quietly. This place wasn't just an organization; it was part of world history.

All the other magic towers scattered across the continent are branches of this one, and there are tens of thousands of magic towers.

In other words, the Central Magic Tower had tens of thousands of military bases across the world. With such power, who would dare attack this place?

Not to mention the tower's own defensive layers were immense.

After a while, Serys took him to a different building. One that was quieter and more peaceful than the rest.

On the entrance door was written: Hall of Legacy.

After entering, massive shelves and halls appeared before them. Ancient books, mana cores, broken magical artifacts, legendary weapons.

Pieces of forgotten civilizations. Some objects still emitted a mysterious aura.

Others were completely silent.

Serys explained.

"Most of these are no longer functional. Only of historical value."

Daniel walked slowly through the hall, his gaze moving over the various artifacts. He looked around carefully, but nothing caught his attention.

After that, they went to the heart of the magic capital, where the main tower itself stood, and at a distance, a tablet could be seen.

Upon seeing the tablet, he stopped. Completely stopped. Daniel recognized it at that moment.

His heartbeat didn't change, his expression didn't change, but his gaze remained fixed.

This was exactly a version of the same tower he had seen at the beginning of his adventures in the Celestial Domain.

The place where he had first encountered the Legacy Tablets. The same tablet used as an entrance test for the magic towers.

And he had taken that test once.

The tablet through which he had obtained Mana Healing and Transcendent Harmony.

And now... one of those tablets was here, in the heart of the Central Magic Tower. Of course, this one must have been the original.

Serys walked a few steps ahead.

Then she noticed Daniel wasn't moving.

She turned back.

"What happened?"

Daniel didn't answer. He quietly walked toward the tablet.

This was the tablet created by the greatest mage in history... the tablet containing the Transcendent Scripture.

He ran his hands over it. His fingers moved over lines that to others were just meaningless carvings, but to him were familiar words.

Suddenly, as his hand touched the tablet, a light rose from it and covered the entire sky.

"What's happening?!"
