Chapter 1240 - 1240: Unexpected Guests
Chapter 1240 - 1240: Unexpected Guests
Aldrian's domain sense, which he had kept active for the past few days, detected a few figures entering the domain he had created upon arriving in the Second Heaven. There were three of them, and outwardly their cultivation was at Immortal Saint Stage.
However, these figures actually possessed cultivation beyond that. Two of them were cultivators who had reached the Demigod Realm, while the strongest among them was a Divine Realm cultivator, or in other words, a god.
Their aura made it clear that they were followers of God Avergis, and it was the first time Aldrian had seen a god among God Avergis' followers.
Aldrian raised an eyebrow in wonder as to why such characters had appeared there, but then he sensed that many others had also arrived with them, entering his domain.
He was quite surprised that their number exceeded a hundred, and even the weakest among them was at Immortal Saint Stage.
They seemed to be observing their surroundings, and many of them spread out across the area as though investigating something. They extended their spiritual senses, their expressions solemn and serious.
Curious about the purpose of this group of powerful cultivators coming to such a place, Aldrian listened to their conversation.
"This is the place our lord pointed out. The place where he lost control over everything within it," the strongest among them said calmly.
He was a blond-haired man. His long hair was tied into a ponytail. His face was young and handsome, and he wore a white robe. His actual cultivation was at God Foundation Stage, meaning he was someone who had just entered the Divine Realm.
"Do not let anything escape the investigation. Search as far as hundreds of thousands of kilometers, whether by physical observation or intangible means, and examine every trace of karma in this place. We need to confirm the dangerous being has already arrived in the Second Heaven," the blond-haired man continued.
His voice remained calm, yet everyone in the area could hear him clearly, as though he were speaking right beside them.
"Once you find something, report it to me and do not act on your own. Do not underestimate anything here. Throw your arrogance away because our lord has warned us. We could lose our lives if we underestimate anything in this place."
"Yes, Your Excellency!" the others answered as they continued their observation and investigation.
The blond-haired man remained with the other two Demigod Realm cultivators. One of them was a beautiful woman with long black hair, dressed in a black robe. The other was a handsome young man with short black hair who was also wearing a black robe.
"My lord, if that dangerous being has really arrived in the Second Heaven, shouldn't we be searching a much larger area? With the amount of time that has already passed, I thought that being would have already gone far away from here," the man said.
"That would make sense in a normal situation, but our lord instructed us not to treat this case as a normal one. Our lord ordered us to stay together as much as possible. Do not separate too far from one another, as this being is said to possess tremendous strength. We need to combine our strength to subdue it."
"If we spread across a much wider area, we will have to disperse our manpower over a greater distance, making our collective strength much thinner. I am afraid that the moment someone from our group finds this being, they will be unable to do anything against it and will only end up getting slaughtered."
"I wonder what kind of being could make our lord so wary and cause him to order even cultivators from the higher heavens to investigate it. I heard he is a human and still very young," the woman said.
"Whatever he is, we must carry out the orders given to us by our lord as best as we can. We have to take this mission seriously," the blond-haired man said.
Aldrian, who had heard their conversation, finally understood what it was about. This powerful group of cultivators had been sent by Avergis to investigate the possibility that he had already ascended to the Second Heaven.
'Then my feeling at that time was right. Avergis really did notice something after I ascended and checked the direction where I appeared,' he thought.
'But how could he detect my presence so quickly? I doubt he could have sensed my existence instantly within the vastness of the Second Heaven, even if the Second Heaven had already fallen under his control. Wait...'
Aldrian paused his thoughts as something suddenly came to mind, and he finally realized something.
'Those people said that Avergis lost control over the area where I appeared after ascending. I see, so that is the reason. So this is how my domain affects a god's control over a place.'
Aldrian's heart was quite shaken.
But then he let out a sigh.
'My domain... Avergis could detect my presence whenever I create it. My domain can actually retake a portion of space from a god's control. Of course he would sense it every time I create my domain.'
This was the first time he had learned about the effect his domain had on a god's control, and he had to admit that it was truly overpowered. He was not even a Divine Realm cultivator yet, but he could already render a god helpless against one of his abilities, even in their own territory.
He was not surprised that Avergis suspected it was him who had ascended to the Second Heaven. Avergis must have personally experienced the effect of the domain.
After all, he was the one who had helped Tarius weaken the heavenly laws of the First Heaven.
It was easy to deduce that anything beyond Avergis' understanding would be connected to him.
But this also revealed a weakness.
Every domain he created would allow Avergis to detect his location within the Second Heaven.
The ability he had relied on the most all this time had become a beacon that revealed his location to Avergis, allowing him to pay much more attention to Aldrian.
It also gave Avergis and the other gods the opportunity to make plans and discover things that could place Aldrian at a disadvantage.
If every disturbance he caused in the Second Heaven could be traced back to him because of his domain, then all of his schemes that required secrecy would become useless. Avergis could simply point to him whenever a problem arose and act accordingly.
Aldrian released a deep breath and narrowed his eyes.
This was not good for his efforts to hide his movements from Avergis and the other gods. On the other hand, there was no way he could simply stop using his domain, his most dependable ability. That would greatly reduce his battle prowess and limit his options for moving across the Second Heaven.
Moreover, the domain was the only way for him to increase his cultivation. Stopping the creation of domains would mean halting his cultivation progress.
He could pause the creation of domains and continue his mission normally, but that would take much more time.
At this moment, his goal was to gather information as quickly as possible so that their counterattack against the invaders could begin sooner. Those invaders situation was already unfavorable because of the hostility between Avergis and Tarius.
'In the end, I have to choose the most chaotic path in my journey to retake this universe,' Aldrian thought with a chuckle.
He shook his head. Since he could not stop creating domains, he had to prepare for far more chaotic battles in the Second Heaven.
Avergis would undoubtedly send more followers to the places where he sensed the appearance of a domain, and in the future Aldrian might have to fight many of them.
But he put that matter aside for now. If that was what awaited him in the future, then it could not be helped. He would deal with that problem when the time came.
For now, he needed to focus on the matter right in front of him.
While continuing to observe the tournament, he contacted the twins through voice transmission.
"Zervan, Zarven, we have guests. There will be many powerful cultivators who will most likely visit the city later. They are from the higher heavens."
Hearing that, the twins were stunned.
"One of them is a Divine Realm cultivator at God Foundation Stage, while the others are weaker than him. We will need to change our plans. I will come to you later," Aldrian continued.
The twins, who were disguised and blending into the crowd in different parts of the city, understood immediately and replied to Aldrian at the same time.
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Aldrian then cut off the connection. He was not worried about the twins even though Avergis' followers would be coming to the city. He would even dare to say that the twins were enough to silently annihilate all of Avergis' incoming followers.
If Avergis sent some of his followers here, then he would take advantage of it.
Aldrian then continued watching the tournament. He observed the blacksmithing techniques used by the geniuses of the Eastern Region.
