Imitation Of Fear
Imitation Of Fear
The beast seemed like it often scratched itself against the bark of trees, as after a little while of research, the trio was able to find a nice quantity of the creature’s dark fur.“That’s perfect. I have more than enough… Alright, I’ll just need a little while to cast the spell, and then, I guarantee that you’ll be able to safely collect the dust”
“Right… Say, Yen'mila… What exactly are you going to do?”
“Don’t worry about it, Linfeng! It will be a superb spell. You can trust me on that!”
…Following about fifteen minutes of spellcasting, the fur was consumed, and the plant cultivator cast another spell, which–Coupled with the effect of the lengthy spell–Caused the beast to swiftly move away and clear the area.
With a lengthy sigh, Linfeng, alongside Mala, collected a few fruits from the Virile Tree.
“I could have guessed this was going to happen”
The twink didn’t respond, utterly dumbfounded by the scene playing out before his very eyes.
The spell requiring something from the beast had caused Yen'mila to transform into a creature of the same species, and the spell she had cast immediately after being transformed was one that caused the target’s sexual hormones to shoot through the roof, resulting in the bestial scene of lust that had now been going on for nearly ten minutes.
Yen'mila was actively summoning plants that emitted an aphrodisiac scent to keep it going on and on... But once she felt that her wild partner could no longer keep going, she took advantage of his moment of weakness to stab him in between the ribs with roots, and proceeded to suck out his blood and nutrients before transforming back into her human self.
She just strolled over to Linfeng and Mala.
“See? Super effective. He probably wouldn’t have noticed anything even if you had thrown rocks at him”
“I… I sincerely wonder what can push someone to do what you just did, Yen'mila. What level of slut does one need to be to even consider… This?”
“You would understand if you had a better understanding of nature, Mala”
“What the hell does that even mean?!”
“It means that any rational sapient being is fully capable of understanding why it is alluring to engage in Biesta and Monstrosia! I mean, have you never seen a stallion or bull at work? If you like getting pounded, you would definitely at least want to know what it’s like to be pounded by such equipment–And I don’t mean to mock you, Linfeng, you are pretty freaking huge”
“...Thanks…”
“You are too focused on Linfeng to realise it yet, Mala, but you might get it eventually”
“I would rather die than ever find myself thinking about getting dicked down by… By freaking feral creatures”
“I mean… There are levels to this. You can start with beastfolks and work your way down”
“Please, stop talking, Yen'mila. Why don’t we all pretend like this didn’t happen and get going?”
“That’s a good idea, Mala. Let’s go, Yen'mila”
“Urgh… I am surrounded by philistines!”
The day came to a close underneath thick, tangled roots. The trio took refuge there, and despite the fact that they should stay quiet and still, they engaged in bedtime activities like they did every single night. Linfeng covered the mouths of his partners as he visited their interiors.
Whilst playing with and holding Mala in a thigh embrace, Linfeng noticed motion in the distance. It was incredibly subtle and very well could have been his imagination, but without stopping what he was doing, he focused more closely on the area where he had spotted movement.
‘Is that a person?’
He already assumed that he was being tailed by people hired by Anoteros, so it wasn’t surprising that there would be someone else in these woods... However, it was surprising that someone had been able to keep track of the trio for so long without being noticed... Especially if they had always been as overt in their observations.
Something moved again. It was nothing but a dark blob amidst a mass of darkness, but it was nonetheless visible. Moreover, the way it peeled from behind a tree was very sapient-like, to say the least.
Still acting none the wiser, Linfeng kissed the back of Mala’s head before whispering something for Yen'mila to hear.
“That tree I am looking at... Something’s watching us”
His voice was barely audible, but the nature cultivator heard him clearly.
She acted oblivious, as she subtly and stealthily extended her senses toward the tree Linfeng had mentioned. She melded its senses and hers, and as she did, she was able to clearly feel a presence.
Something was standing on two legs, and it was of rather consequent size for a bipedal entity.
She frowned slightly, retracting her senses as she felt like she was about to be found out.
“It’s humanoid, and seems to have a certain amount of authority over nature energy and the like. Not enough for it to be akin to a dryad, but the authority it exerts is rather… Tyrannical, rather than refined like me”
She whispered, adding afterwards that the creature seemed to have the intent to actually attack eventually. It was certainly waiting for its prey to fall asleep so that the job would be easier–Which was about in line with the behaviour of a typical predator… To seek the most gain with as little effort as possible.
Linfeng shook his head and finished playing with Mala before getting himself dressed and standing up. He could probably wait for the creature to approach and attack it by surprise when it thought him to be asleep, but Linfeng didn’t want to let it get close with Mala around. The twink couldn’t really defend himself.
“I’ll count on you to back me up”
“Sure thing, Linfeng~ I would be sad to lose access to your big trunk”
The male cultivator cracked his knuckles and stretched his limbs before approaching the tree.
“In case you didn’t realise already… I know you’re here”
He heard the air shift as something heavy jumped back… After walking around the tree, he came face-to-face with a shadowy figure, which stayed in the dark even though moonlight shone a few steps in front of it.
“If you can talk, you can tell me what epitaph you’ll want on your grave”
A weird sound came from the creature, a mixture of a grunt and a laugh. Its shape contorted and expanded as the sound of shifting bones and stretching flesh resounded. It went from hard to distinguish, crouched-figured, to a clear humanoid form–And even before it stepped forward into the light, Linfeng couldn’t help but frown.
“Be… Afraid. Very afraid!”
“How the hell did you even get the clothes somewhat right?”
The creature had transformed into a human. Into a specific human that Linfeng both hated and feared...
Edrick Lucien Anoteros.
Not everything was correct, however.
One arm was a bit longer than the other, the mouth was stretched too wide, and the clothes it had manifested for itself looked correct at a glance, but were full of mistakes... But it was undeniably Anoteros nonetheless.
“You want me to be afraid? Sorry, but I am only afraid that I’ll have to disappoint you. Not only is your mimicry imperfect, but I just saw you do it. Why would I be afraid of a knock-off?”
The creature smiled, revealing teeth far sharper than those of the real noble possessed.
“Yet… I can smell… Fright”
The creature’s mouth opened far wider than it had any right to. Antlers surged out of its skull, and its green eyes began to glow as it bared bony claws.
Linfeng clicked his tongue despite his nervousness.
“Did you really have to do this just before bed? I’ll kill you and then get my good night’s rest”
“You’ll rest… Forever”
“Sure, sure…”
