Chapter 89 The Silent Witch and the Secret Chamber
It must be something extraordinary!
But it's still much more effective than using magic spells to tickle it here!
Roy gripped his wand tightly in the back, raising the Armor Charm in front of him, while simultaneously opening the Book of Spatial Expansion with his left hand.
"Bang!"
The basilisk's head kept slamming against the Ironclad Curse, producing one dull, thunderous sound after another.
With each impact, Roy's body would tremble slightly, and her hand holding the wand would shake violently. She couldn't hold out against the basilisk's attacks for long.
Fortunately, she didn't need to hold on for long.
"Roar!" The basilisk arched its body high, opened its blood-red maw and let out a chilling hiss, then charged headlong at Loira.
It wanted to smash through the annoying barrier in front of it in one fell swoop.
Watching its movements, Roy bit her lip and flicked her wand.
"Buzz!"
The Ironclad Curse vanished in an instant, and the basilisk charged straight at Loyra, crashing directly into the open Space Stretch Book that Loyra was holding.
"Whoosh!"
Almost instantly, its long body was swallowed by the Space Stretch Book, and then Roy immediately flipped his hand to close the book and pressed his whole body onto it.
Actually, once Roy entered the Space Extension Book, she wouldn't have to worry, but she still subconsciously lay down on the Space Extension Book.
"Whoosh—whoosh."
The only sound in the messy secret room was the girl's panting. Loy, soaked to the bone, inhaled the cold air and then exhaled it violently.
"It should be fine now, right? I'm still pretty good, aren't I?" Luo Yili's pale face relaxed slightly as she plopped down on the ground, completely ignoring the puddles.
Then, looking around, she couldn't help but feel a sense of absurdity.
I came here specifically to look at the magic circle—I wanted to relax a bit before the terrifying ball, so why is there a basilisk here?!
By the way, what about Mr. Riddle?
Loira glanced at the pile of rubble beside her, pursed her lips, raised her wand, and pulled Mr. Riddle's diary out of the rubble.
"Mr. Riddle, what's going on?"
.....
Silence. Mr. Riddle answered Lloyd with silence.
Is he asleep?
Roy thought this subconsciously, but memories don't need to sleep!
Or did Mr. Riddle see the basilisk's eyes?
Does memory have eyes?
And someone who has died once can't die again, right?
Mr. Del said, "I'm not sure either."
Mr. Riddle's handwriting slowly appeared; it was a sentence that was completely different from the previous elegant handwriting, somewhat messy, and even misspelled.
Was Mr. Riddle also frightened? Or was it because he had just thrown him into the rubble?
And it's unclear what that means—isn't this the secret room Mr. Riddle had visited before?
"I didn't know there would be a basilisk here," Riddle explained slowly. "When I came here before, there was nothing here."
Mr. Riddle means that the basilisk appeared in just a few decades?
Who let the basilisk in? Could it be Dumbledore? He seems like the kind of person who would do these things—but why? To protect the magic circle here? He doesn't understand magic circles.
Roy's mind was still a bit confused, but she still had complete trust in Mr. Riddle.
After all, he was his friend, and he had even taught him magic arrays and brought him to the secret room, even though there had been a small accident.
But I'm perfectly fine, aren't I?
Aside from being completely soaked, Roy subconsciously looked down at the white shirt under his robe.
Her face flushed red, and she waved her wand to dry herself off.
"Are you alright?" Mr. Riddle's handwriting reappeared at this moment.
"I—I'm fine," Roy wrote somewhat hesitantly. "I should be fine."
The basilisk is not a particularly difficult enemy to deal with, since its most threatening eye was destroyed by Roy at the beginning.
It's just a bit of a waste of time, but it's worth it for the magic array.
Roy looked at the collapsed secret chamber, nodded slightly, and then raised his wand.
She sat on the ground and waved her wand, returning the broken bricks and rubble to their original positions.
In no time, perhaps only a few minutes, Roy had already restored the secret room to its original state.
Except for the passage she came from.
The narrow passage had completely collapsed, leaving insufficient space for Roy to use his repair spells, as the bricks were tightly wedged together.
But that doesn't matter anymore!
Roy immediately opened his diary and wrote, "Mr. Riddle, where are all the magic circles here?"
She had assumed it was carved on the wall, but she didn't find it there.
"On those serpentine statues," Riddle wrote slowly, his words distorted and twisted as if he were weary.
"Are you alright?" Loira asked after a moment's thought.
"No!"
Ah—Mr. Riddle doesn't seem to be in a good mood. Roy thought for a moment and decided not to bother him.
She decided to focus on studying the magic circle—she looked around the secret chamber and found that Mr. Riddle had mentioned quite a few serpentine statues, which were arranged in the water on both sides of the stone bridge.
Left with no other choice, Roy tapped her wand, conjuring a thick layer of ice between herself and the statue. She stepped lightly onto the ice and carefully walked to the statue.
However, she still wanted to hold onto the snake statue's head to avoid slipping and falling. "Ah!"
Losing his footing, Roy slipped and fell to the ground, taking Mr. Riddle's diary flying with him. It slid across the ice and then fell into the water.
"Mr. Riddle!" He had just let Mr. Riddle get crushed by rocks and bricks, and now he had thrown him into the water!
Roy quickly waved his wand and used the Summoning Charm to pull the diary back from the water.
"Are you alright, Mr. Riddle?!" Roy quickly used his wand to dry the water off the diary. It wouldn't be good if his friend got water in his head because of him!
"You—" Riddle's words slowly appeared on the diary. He paused for a long time before continuing, "I've been out for a while. You should put me away."
He seemed genuinely tired. Roy pursed his lips and carefully put Mr. Riddle into the Space Extension Book.
Only then did she finally have time to examine the magic array behind the snake statue.
By Merlin!
As Roy examined it closely, she became certain that what she was seeing was a completely new magic circle.
This was yet another magic array he had never seen before, completely different from all the previous magic arrays.
Moreover, there is a long passage of text written on the edge of this magic circle, which should be explaining the function of the magic circle, right?
Now there's a problem: Roy doesn't recognize the words on it.
That wasn't human language, at least not the language Roy had ever seen; it was a series of distorted characters that looked like earthworms.
After a long silence, Roy gently waved his wand and transferred the words onto the notebook.
She also copied down all the magic arrays and inscriptions on the other snake-shaped statues.
Aside from two magic circles and one with writing that was completely blurred and illegible, and another that was missing half for some unknown reason, Roy made a total of three copies of the magic circles and the strange text that came with them.
The next step is to figure out the meaning of those words and to experiment with the meaning of these magic circles. However, this part of the experimentation will be very difficult because these magic circles are all mottled and unclear, and may not be able to function.
Roy hugged the notebook tightly with satisfaction and then gave a tired smile.
Although it was a bit tiring, it was ultimately rewarding.
Ah—wait...what time is it now?
Didn't I promise to attend the ball?
"And how am I supposed to get out of here?" Roy stared at the blocked entrance, biting his lip, unsure of what to do.
