Chapter 140 A Magnificent Coma
"Is it over?"
As Loila walked down the stairs with unsteady steps, the three people on the sofa, who were feeling uneasy, all stood up at the same time and looked at her.
"Should—should I?" Loila leaned against the wall, feeling a little dizzy. She subconsciously looked out the window and found that it was already dark outside.
I actually spent a whole day on this—that really is a long time! Why do I feel so dizzy?
As Loila was thinking this, she took a step down, but her boot slipped on the step instead of landing on it.
"Miss Hamilton!" Amidst the surprised exclamations of the group, Loila's body went limp and she fell down the stairs. Fortunately, she wasn't standing too high up, and there happened to be a few Nifflers lying at the bottom of the stairs.
"Yugadimm Leviosa!" Tina reacted quickly, waving her wand, but only made Loila's necklace make a soft sound.
"Bang!"
Miss Hamilton just collapsed in the Niffler group and didn't move again.
"This—this—" Newt was startled. He ran to Loila's side, his face pale, and quickly looked down at her.
Thankfully—Miss Hamilton and the Nifflers seem to be alright—Miss Hamilton is very light, and the Nifflers that were crushed squeaked as they crawled out, looking quite energetic.
Miss Hamilton—who seemed to have simply fainted from exhaustion—tina pulled Newt away from Niffler, who was holding Niffler, upon seeing her pale face.
"Quickly, get Miss Hamilton to lie down on the sofa!" Although she didn't know why the spell hadn't worked, she still raised her wand again as she spoke: "Yugardim Leviosa!"
Looking at Miss Hamilton, who was already asleep and pale-faced, Nicolas Flamel finally walked over and nodded gently.
"Miss Hamilton, you must be exhausted," he said softly, "using your wand all day long—"
"Anyone else would probably have fainted by now." He coughed a few times and looked towards the room up the stairs. "I wonder how Miss Nagini is doing—"
"Shall I go check?" Newt said instinctively, only to be met with an eye roll from Tina: "Miss Nagini isn't dressed yet—"
"I'll go up and check on her," she said, glaring at Newt, seemingly quite annoyed by his earlier action of hugging Niffler first. "You two just take good care of Miss Hamilton."
"It should be fine, right?"
"No—no." Newt seemed to realize this as well. He pursed his lips, quickly put down the Niffler in his hand, and watched Tina stomp her feet as she walked up the stairs.
"Müller?" The young girl opened her eyes and paused for a moment, then pursed her lips as she looked at the young man in front of her.
"You're awake?" Muller's voice was quite stern as he glared at the girl and said, "You finally decided to wake up?"
'
"I'm so sorry!" The girl quickly pulled the blanket up to cover her face and whispered, "I just—"
only----"
"Ah—I know, I know—" Muller raised his head and said in a somewhat sarcastic tone, "Magic array—studying magic arrays again—"
"Miss Hamilton!"
——————————————————————————————————————
"Alas!"
Looking at the trembling girl, Muller sneered, "I should have just left you in that tower to die."
"That way you can spend your next life with the magic circle too, right?"
"Huh————"
Seeing the stunned girl, Muller was immediately furious: "You weren't actually thinking about this seriously, were you?!"
"No, no!" The girl trembled at his angry roar, and she hurriedly waved her hands, saying, "I—I wasn't thinking about these things—"
"Really?" Muller scoffed. "I can't help but believe it."
"And—" he said, lowering his voice, "the second dueling tournament is just around the corner, so you'd better be careful if you want to graduate early."
"Otherwise, that old fogey Goethelin wouldn't agree." He pursed his lips as he spoke, "Even if your owls..."
Good results.
"Even being first in the grade—" he muttered, shaking his head, "but that's no excuse for you to slack off."
"
"He studied the magic array for three days and three nights straight, without even sleeping."
"————" The girl was so frightened by Muller's series of words that she was completely at a loss for words and could not say a word for a long time. She just pursed her lips and lowered her head.
Seeing her like this, Muller sighed, and didn't say what he was about to say. He just shook his head and handed a glass of water to the girl.
"Have some water."
Hearing Muller's words, the girl pursed her lips and carefully took the cup. Her fingers touched Muller slightly, causing him to purse his lips and turn his head away.
Did I make him angry again?
The girl's heart, which had just relaxed, tensed up again—she didn't want to make Muller angry, because it would be terrible if Muller got angry—he wouldn't talk to her for days on end!
And they'll just snort when they see me!
The girl quickly whispered, "Muller—are you participating in—participating in this competition?"
"Of course." Muller didn't look at the girl but stared at the ceiling of the school hospital. "Of course I'll participate."
"While I might not be your match," he said, shrugging, "getting second place is still pretty good."
Seeing that he seemed to have returned to his previous state, the girl gave a faint smile.
"However—" He suddenly turned to look at the girl as if he had remembered something: "You need to be careful lately."
""
"Be careful—?" The girl paused, feeling she had been quite careful all along—
"Hmm." Muller nodded, his tone suddenly becoming low: "I've heard something."
"Some people don't want you to win the championship; they might even want to kill you during the match."
"Kill—kill me?!" The girl's voice trembled. "What—what should I do?"
"What to do?" Muller's lips twitched. "Of course, we must prevent their plot from succeeding!"
"Those idiots—thinking they can beat you in a duel is a pipe dream." Muller curled his lip in disdain: "But—they're quite adept at using dirty tricks."
"Sneaky tricks—dirty tactics?" The girl swallowed hard and whispered, "Even if I can't find the shoes—or the robe or something—I—I won't lose."
"Are you an idiot?" Muller couldn't help but turn around and say, "What kind of dirty trick is this?"
"For the next two months, don't drink or eat anything that a stranger gives you," he said in a low voice. "Unless you want to be cursed or just pass out."
"How...how scary..."
Looking at the girl who was trembling with fear, Muller shook his head: "Be careful, and then just take them out in the match."
"Of course—" Muller suddenly sneered, "You can kill them if you want—just don't use the Unforgivable Curse."
"Ugh—" The girl looked at the sneering boy and felt a little scared for a moment—Müller, he's scary too—
"You absolutely have to win the championship this time." After a cold laugh, Muller continued, "That way, those old guys won't be able to say anything more."
"Those—" The girl looked at Muller with some curiosity upon hearing this, only to receive a shake of his head in return.
"This matter—this matter has nothing to do with you," he said slowly. "It's a matter for my family."
7
"Anyway, you need to perform well—" he said, his voice trailing off, "to let those old fogies know—"
Being mixed-race is nothing to be ashamed of.
