Chapter 494 The Last Face
Chapter 494 The Last Face
Chapter 494 The Last Meeting
Where is this?
When Loila opened her eyes again, she didn't see the familiar ceiling of the infirmary or the ceiling of the office, but a pure white expanse.
A white mist enveloped the surroundings, and Loila could vaguely see the staircase leading upwards, step by step.
Is this Durmstrang's Astronomical Tower?
Although she hadn't been back for many years, Loila still remembered this place; it was the place where she had spent the most time.
Am I not at Hogwarts?
Why did we suddenly come here?
And the surroundings looked—it seemed a bit messy—everything outside the window was distorted and tilted—was this Durmstrang?
It seems like Durmstrang is like that again?
Confused, she subconsciously started walking up the stairs.
Durmstrang's Astronomical Tower wasn't particularly tall, or perhaps she was already quite familiar with the place, as she climbed the steps one by one, eventually reaching the top of the tower with her gaze.
The top of the tower was empty. There were no books she had once scattered all over the ground, nor any miscellaneous materials for magic arrays. All that remained were two ordinary chairs and a young man in a black robe sitting in them.
His robes were deep black, with a raven of the same color perched on them, and his hair was slightly disheveled, his head bowed as if he were deep in thought.
He looked exactly like the last person Royla saw.
He was Müller von Ansbach, Leura's first friend.
Muller sat there quietly, out of place amidst the surrounding white. He seemed to have heard Loila's movements and slightly raised his head to look at her.
"Müller?" Loila blinked, clutching the hem of her clothes. "Where...where is this?"
"There are many places here," Muller said slowly, his voice calm yet tinged with nostalgia.
"You can consider this place heaven—or you can consider it hell."
Or perhaps this is just your dream.
"Heaven... Hell?" Loila asked instinctively, "Am I... am I dead?"
Yeah, it split itself into two parts—and fought for so long—it seems normal for it to die, right?
"How could that be?" Muller shook his head slightly upon hearing this, and shrugged, saying, "Of course you're not dead."
"But I don't know where I am either," he said, closing his eyes slightly. "I'm here now, after I was struck by the Killing Curse."
"Isn't everything here peaceful?"
Killing Curse —
Upon hearing this, Loila lowered her eyes slightly. Yes—Müller is dead, isn't he?
This must be my dream, right? — Did I really dream again?
"I saw what you did."
"Huh?" Upon hearing this, Loila immediately looked up at Muller: "Really—really?"
"Of course." Muller smiled slightly. He rarely smiled, at least in Loira's memory, but he did smile.
He chuckled and said, "You did a great job, didn't you?"
"I thought you had forgotten our agreement," he said, shaking his head. "Now it seems I was wrong."
"You walked out of that door."
"Without me."
"No—no—" Loila cried out desperately, nodding her head. "Without Müller—I—I couldn't even stay in Durmstrang—"
"I might not even graduate—I might not be able to become a wizard—I might not even be able to wave a wand—"
""
"And I didn't either—"
"You've moved on," Muller said slowly. "The you of the past wouldn't have done these things, wouldn't have become a professor, wouldn't have fought to protect your students, and wouldn't have become the person you are today."
"And—you will do it." Muller shook his head slightly: "Because you've always been stronger than people imagine—"
"That includes yourself." He said, then changed the subject as if he had thought of something: "You killed Karkaroff—well done."
"Because—because I want to avenge you—" Loila whispered, then, as if remembering something, added, "But—but he doesn't seem to be Karkaroff—"
"It's alright," Muller blinked. "This is enough."
"It's not good to do too much for a dead person, is it?" he said, slowly getting up and then casually swinging his arm.
"I just think you did a great job."
"I—I know—" Loila said, suddenly feeling her eyes welling up with tears. She had just been thinking about what she wanted to say to Mueller, but after seeing Mueller, she didn't know what to say.
I really am an idiot—an idiot who can't even speak properly.
Muller seemed to sense her thoughts and said softly, "You have a lot of friends now, don't you?"
"Mmm—mmm!" Loila said through tears, "Mr. Lupin is a very good person—Miss Nagini—Miss Shiloh—and Hagrid—they are all very good—"
"I really wish we—we could spend—spend time together—" Loila's voice became more and more broken as she spoke, and she sobbed more and more.
"There's no need for that." Muller looked at the scene and reached out his hand, but then slowly lowered it: "I'm already dead."
"It's not worth shedding tears for a dead person," he said, shrugging. "Besides—your friends are all good people."
""
"They will support you and help you—that's enough." He chuckled self-deprecatingly. "Actually, what I was most worried about at the time was what would happen to you afterwards."
"I'm afraid you'll never recover—and I'm also afraid you'll stop being yourself."
"But it looks really good now." Muller smiled slightly. "You did a better job than I expected."
"I'm so happy," he said, then paused abruptly, before softly adding, "I'm proud of you."
"...
""
Looking at Loila, who was stunned and letting her tears flow, Muller blinked: "I've actually wanted to say this for a long time."
"But I've never been a very frank person—until I got here."
"This is a really strange place—it calms the mind and allows one to think about things that one has never thought about before."
"It also allows me to say what I want to say." Muller said, suddenly taking a few steps closer. He looked at Loira quietly, his mouth slightly moving, but—no sound came out.
He shook his head, turned around, and started walking. Before he knew it, a new staircase appeared. Muller walked to the edge of the staircase and lightly placed one foot on it.
"Müller?"
"Lupin told you about that, right?" He suddenly turned to look at Loila and asked.
"That thing?" Loila paused for a moment, then suddenly remembered what that thing was—was it about feelings?
Loila immediately bit her lip and lowered her head. Not only were her eyes red, but her face also turned slightly red.
"I'm...I'm sorry," she whispered, almost in a hushed tone. "I...I'm so sorry..."
"It's alright." Muller nodded rather nonchalantly after receiving the answer: "I know what your answer is."

"I've always known."
"I'm a coward at times too," he said, shaking his head as he lifted his foot and walked up the steps.
Watching his retreating figure, Loila pursed her lips and suddenly shouted, "Müller—you—you've always been my best—and my first friend."
"You are also my most respected teacher."
"Don't say that." Muller paused slightly, turning his head to say, "Wasn't Miss Lovegood the first friend?"
"Someone as cowardly as me couldn't be the first," he said, then suddenly laughed. "But it doesn't seem too late now, does it?"
"It's so nice to be your friend." He said with a smile, and then his body began to dissipate and turn into a wisp of mist.
"Müller—no—" Loila instinctively reached out to grab him, but he gently shook his head and smiled.
"It's time to say goodbye." He said softly, turning his head away without another word, leaving only his back view.
He whispered in a voice only he could hear, "May Merlin bless you—and also—"
"I love you."
His figure transformed into a raven, his guardian spirit. The raven circled in the air before flying out of the window of the astronomical tower and into the distance.
"Goodbye—Müller." Watching the raven fly away, Loila said softly, "I'm glad—I met you."
"Thank you for everything you've done for me."
She opened her eyes slightly, and the familiar ceiling came into view. Loila let out a soft moan, then looked around in a daze.
Was I just dreaming?
I felt like I saw Muller—and we talked a lot—was that real?
--------
Whether it was true or not—Loila felt the heavy oppression in her heart seem to have dissipated considerably—
"You're awake?"
A cold voice rang in her ears, and Luo Yili was stunned for a moment before looking in that direction.
What came into view was a black-haired girl with beautiful purple eyes.
"Miss Hilo?"
Why are you here?
"Can't I be here?" Shiloh looked at Loila, who had just woken up, and showed a slightly relaxed expression, then said with a hint of helplessness, "But to be honest—it's not a good thing that you're awake now."
"Why—why?"
"It's better if you find out later—" Shiloh said, slowly getting up and looking out of the infirmary: "She's awake."
"Loila Hamilton is awake."
