Chapter 25 Prevarications Allow Violence to Rise
Picking up where we left off, Scarface gave Dumbledore a thorough dressing-down, leaving Ron and Hermione speechless with shock.
McGonagall held the White Lord in the highest esteem, and she could not tolerate Harry's insults. She angrily retorted, "Mr. Potter! You should show respect to the Headmaster!"
Seeing Dumbledore's embarrassment, Snape forced a smile and said, "Don't get agitated, Professor McGonagall. I think Mr. Potter has his reasons for saying that."
"Could it be that Professor Dumbledore is hiding something again?"
Dumbledore ignored him and stared at Harry, saying, "Harry, why do you say I'm a traitor?"
Harry roared, "Do you still remember the vow you made to me?!"
McGonagall was still bewildered, but Dumbledore understood. The oath Harry spoke of was the same unbreakable vow the two had made in the office earlier.
He swore to protect Hagrid, Hermione, and Ron, and now that Hermione had almost lost her life to the giant club, how could Harry not be furious?
Dumbledore knew he was in the wrong, and his momentum weakened further. "Oh, I apologize, Harry. But could we talk in my office? Just the two of us."
"I am upright and honorable; do not hide your true colors or act like a coward!"
Seeing his reluctance, Dumbledore felt an excruciating headache.
McGonagall couldn't help but ask, "Professor Dumbledore, what vow did you and Harry make?"
"I'm sorry, Minerva, this was a promise between Harry and me. And he's right, I almost broke my vow."
"Harry, please forgive this old man's momentary lapse."
Seeing that he was not aloof and spoke sincerely, the scarred man's anger subsided by a third.
Harry said, "Since you're willing to risk your pride, Professor, I'll trust you one more time!" With that, he picked up the troll's head, stepped out of the bathroom, and went off with Dumbledore.
"Professor McGonagall, you'll handle these two Gryffindor students." Snape tugged at Quirrell's collar. "Professor Quirrell and I have some things to discuss, so we'll be leaving now."
"Take care, Severus."
After the professors dispersed, McGonagall coldly swept her gaze over Hermione and Ron, and said grimly, "Mr. Weasley, Miss Granger, what kind of tricks are you two, and Mr. Potter, up to?"
Two things are happening at different points, each with its own story. Now, let's say Harry and Dumbledore entered the office, and the effects of the aging potion had reached their peak.
In the blink of an eye, Harry's body suddenly hunched over, collapsing and shrinking back to its original size as if his bones were being pulled out.
The robe tied around his waist fell to the ground, revealing Harry completely naked. The headmasters in the portrait all avoided him. But a few, unashamed, hurriedly put on their glasses to get a closer look, pouting and whistling loudly.
"Not bad, young man, you have great potential!"
"I dare say you'll be very popular from now on, Mr. Potter."
"Excellent wizard, fantastic!"
"My God, even worse than my ex-husband..."
Dumbledore grew tired of listening and, fearing the portraits would corrupt Harry, waved his wand, turning them all to face the wall. He then cast a cleansing charm on Harry, erasing all the blood and grime from his body.
"Put your robes on, Harry, this isn't a shower room."
After Harry put on his wizard's robes, Dumbledore pondered for a moment and said, "Harry, I have something to ask you."
"What were you thinking when you killed that giant monster?"
Harry scoffed, "What a load of crap! It's just a shame that bastard died so easily! If it weren't for my sister and brothers, I'd definitely chop him up and make mincemeat!"
Hearing his vicious words and fierce eyes, Dumbledore felt a tightness in his chest and shortness of breath, and his heart was filled with sorrow.
It should be noted that Voldemort also studied magic at Hogwarts, but during his first year, he only engaged in some dirty deeds in secret. He was nothing like Harry, a vicious and ruthless man who could kill without batting an eye.
Such a wicked creature, if it were to fall into evil ways, would likely become another demon incarnate.
Dumbledore rubbed his temples. "Harry, your personality is just... a bit too impulsive. I hope you can tone it down a bit."
"This is my nature, why should I hide it?"
"Because you are the savior who defeated Voldemort." Dumbledore's warm gaze vanished, replaced by a deep voice. "Although it was your mother's protective spell that took effect, not your own intention..."
Before he could finish saying, "But you are the faith of all wizards," Harry interrupted and shouted:
"Professor, stop spouting such useless nonsense! I have a question for you: where did that giant come from?"
"I've never heard of Hogwarts keeping any giants. Was it the work of those thieves who broke into Gringotts?"
Seeing that Harry was about to press him for answers again, Dumbledore sighed. "I think so, Harry."
"Based on my observations over this period of time, the thief may have already infiltrated the school."
Harry's heart skipped a beat, and he exclaimed, "Is it that Quirrell?"
"Oh? I thought you would doubt Professor Snape."
Harry said, "That scoundrel has a family feud with me, and he wears his hatred on his sleeve, unlike that wicked fellow."
"Although Keanu Reeves keeps a low profile, I have a history with him at the Leaky Cauldron and know he's an awkward person."
"Tonight, the first person to encounter that monster, and the first to shout, was this fellow. I'm afraid he's putting on a good show to stir up trouble so he can fish in the mud."
His arguments were clear and logical, and Dumbledore applauded, saying, "A very keen observation, Harry."
"I just hope you won't show any hostility towards Professor Quirrell."
The old man's words had a deeper meaning, how could Harry not understand? He laughed and said, "I know, all we need to do is tie this fellow up at night, cast a few powerful spells on him, teach him a lesson, and then he'll tell us all about his parents' romantic affairs."
Dumbledore was stunned, the Sorting Hat clicked his tongue in amazement, and Fawkes shook his head.
What is Harry saying?
Is this the kind of thinking a first-year wizard should have?
Dumbledore rubbed his temples. "No, Harry, I mean you shouldn't do anything."
Harry asked in surprise, "Professor, what do you mean? Are you just letting that thief do as he pleases?"
"Of course not, but... well, at least we have to wait until he shows his true colors, right? We can't wrong an innocent person."
Fearing Harry might bring up some sensitive questions again, Dumbledore took out a box and said, "Speaking of which, Harry, I have here an item that belonged to your father."
"I think now is the time to return it to its rightful owner."
There is a distinction between teaching and learning.
The principal sat calmly in the Star Gazing Pavilion, letting the evil spirits lurk in the school.
Harry questioned the cause and effect, but was evaded by talking about the relics.
P.S.: To be fair, the heroes in Water Margin actually quite liked being naked. In the story of the robbery of the birthday gifts, the men selling dates were all naked, enjoying the cool shade.
I imagine the weather will be incredibly hot.
