Chapter Eighteen: The Shopping Mall
A light drizzle began to fall at dusk, the dark clouds hung low, and the faint sound of thunder could be heard.
hum~~
The roar of motorcycles pierced through the rain. Even the woman wearing a motorcycle helmet and a traffic police uniform had to slow down to avoid an accident. Some corpses gathered around when they heard the noise, but were quickly thrown off.
But the rain was getting heavier and the light was getting dimmer. The woman had to find a place to rest, no matter how anxious she was. Soon, she found a shopping mall that was still lit up.
Perhaps there are still living people here.
However, the woman on the motorcycle became more vigilant. After the order was disrupted, humanity itself became the greatest source of chaos. The woman's surname was Miyamoto, and her given name was Riko. She was Miyamoto Rei's mother.
When the zombie outbreak first occurred, Miyamoto Kiriko organized her neighbors to defend her home together. However, just two days later, she was instigated by a friend from out of town in her neighborhood and had the idea of taking over the place.
So he tricked Miyamoto Kiriko into going out to collect food supplies, but when Miyamoto Kiriko returned, she was blocked from going back by her neighbor who was holding a hunting rifle. Angry but helpless, Miyamoto Kiriko had no choice but to leave with her weapon.
After dodging several groups of zombies, Miyamoto Kiriko found a motorcycle with a key on it and decided to go to the school to find her daughter. She then rode there.
However, the rain was getting heavier and heavier. Not long after Miyamoto Kiriko turned and stopped in front of the mall, she was shocked to find that the mall seemed to have been overrun by a large number of zombies.
"This...sigh..."
Kiriko Miyamoto sighed and subconsciously shook her head, knowing that many more people had died in the mouths of those monsters. However, as Kiriko Miyamoto got back into the car and prepared to start the engine and leave, she subconsciously turned her head to look at the corner of the house next to her.
The dim light illuminated an exceptionally tall and imposing figure. Especially when a bolt of lightning flashed, suddenly illuminating the figure, and one could see clearly that it was Miyamoto Kiriko, it felt as if the blood had frozen in an instant.
"Weird...monster..."
In a panic, Miyamoto Kiriko couldn't start her motorcycle. As the monster approached her step by step, she had no choice but to abandon the motorcycle and grab the crossbow hanging on it.
Then Miyamoto Kiriko ran towards the mall without looking back. Although it was full of zombies, it was still within her comprehension. As for the monster or yokai behind her, it was something she couldn't believe.
Niu Kun blinked, then frowned and looked at the mall, somewhat puzzled. It seemed that according to the plot, the mall should have been in trouble after the main characters arrived, so why was it gone now?
Is it because of the impact he caused?
Although he had some doubts, Niu Kun still glanced at the woman who suddenly appeared on her motorcycle and stopped. Well, Niu Kun had actually arrived a little earlier than her, but perhaps the buildings blocked her view, so she didn't see him at first.
Niu Kun had trained himself quite well; even with the rain obscuring his vision, he could still tell that the woman had a good figure, so she must be good-looking too. After all, this was a two-dimensional world. With the idea of not letting the mistake go, Niu Kun chased after the woman who had noticed him and fled in panic.
Miyamoto Kiriko hurriedly grabbed her cross-shaped pistol and fled towards the mall. Her motorcycle helmet obstructed her vision, preventing her from noticing Niu Kun immediately. However, without the helmet, her vision would inevitably be affected by the rain.
"Aha~"
With a low shout, Miyamoto Kiriko raised her hand and thrust out her spear, knocking over a corpse at the mall entrance. She then stepped over it without stopping, picked up her spear, and walked away. Her movements were swift and graceful, making Niu Kun, who was following behind, nod in approval.
This marksmanship was a level above Miyamoto Rei's, which made Niu Kun even more interested.
After rushing into the mall, Miyamoto Kiriko saw several more corpses wandering around. She knew something was wrong, but with corpses in front and monsters chasing closely behind, Miyamoto Kiriko had no choice but to give it her all and perform beyond her usual limits.
The well-maintained cross-shaped spear was extremely sharp, easily slicing into the neck of a corpse. With a gentle twist, it severed a head. Then, the shaft was swung horizontally, and the cross-blade on the side of the spearhead pecked into the temple of another corpse.
After defeating two zombies, Miyamoto Kiriko opened a passage and then strode through the gaps between the other zombies. When the other zombies tried to chase after Miyamoto Kiriko, they blocked Niu Kun's path.
So Niu Kun raised his axe and slashed repeatedly, beheading the several corpses blocking his way.
"Tsk tsk, not bad."
Niu Kun nodded in satisfaction, then continued to follow the woman to see how long she could escape.
The entire mall was now filled with zombies. The citizens who had been trying to survive in the mall had almost all been bitten to death by the zombies. Blood was everywhere, creating a bizarre scene.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the mall, a muscular monster, just as it was about to devour its last prey, suddenly raised its head and stopped. It had sensed that its nemesis, whom it had to eliminate, had also arrived.
The monster hesitated for a moment, realizing it was no match for the monster, and finally chose to retreat temporarily to another place to continue devouring flesh and blood to increase its strength.
Meanwhile, Nakaoka Asami, hiding behind the cabinet, stared wide-eyed, held her breath, and gripped her pistol tightly, not daring to move an inch, lest she attract that incredibly terrifying monster.
As Miyamoto Kiriko ran quickly, she felt that the helmet was too stuffy and heavy, making it almost impossible to breathe, and it also affected her vision and movement. So, she took off the helmet while running, and then used it to knock open a dead body blocking her way.
After running from the first floor to the second floor, you can see that the bloodstains are even denser. In addition to the dead who have been executed again, there are also many corpses that should have been alive. These corpses are often mutilated and their internal organs have been almost completely removed.
"Damn it, is everyone dead?!"
Human mental capacity has a threshold; when that threshold is exceeded, mental breakdown may occur. Miyamoto Kiriko felt that she was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
Corpses and blood were everywhere. The number of dead bodies was increasing, and monsters were relentlessly pursuing them. There was almost no way out. This mental torment was even more deadly than physical exhaustion.
Finally, when she saw more than a dozen corpses blocking her way and there were no other forks in the road, Miyamoto Kiriko stopped and gave up on running away. She felt that she had to fight to the death.
Turning around, gripping her cross-shaped pistol, and assuming a gun-wielding stance to face Niu Kun, Miyamoto Kiriko felt like a hero from a legend, ready to challenge that terrifying monster.
After a clear and melodious shout, Miyamoto Kiriko gripped her gun with both hands and suddenly thrust it towards Niu Kun, the spearhead aimed directly at Niu Kun's throat. It seemed that her spear skills were already comparable to some professional martial artists.
Unfortunately, she was not facing those sluggish corpses, but a non-human demon. The gun barrel was naturally grabbed by Niu Kun, and no matter how hard Miyamoto Kiriko tried, she could not shake Niu Kun's strength.
Chapter Nineteen: The Victor
However, the mindless zombies that came up disturbed Niu Kun's interest. Niu Kun grinned and shook his head at the woman, quite arrogantly. Then, he suddenly exerted force with the hand holding the gun barrel and threw Miyamoto Kiriko directly against the wall next to him.
Immediately afterwards, Niu Kun, holding a gun in one hand and a shield in the other, charged forward and knocked away the first few corpses. Then, a layer of illusory firelight ignited around him, but unfortunately, it only had a radius of one meter. Fortunately, this layer of firelight, which looked like a special effect, could still adhere to the weapon.
So when Niu Kun thrust out the cross-shaped spear, the flames dancing on the blade ignited the corpses it hit. Some of the corpses that got close to Niu Kun also spontaneously combusted without fire. However, these corpses had no sense of pain, and before they were completely engulfed by the flames, they would instinctively continue to attack Niu Kun.
"It's still a bit of a dilemma for now."
Niu Kun muttered something, then quickly eliminated the remaining zombies before turning to look at Miyamoto Kiriko, who was struggling to get up. After a careful look, Niu Kun felt that she looked somewhat familiar.
"Hmm...why does she look a bit like Li?"
Niu Kun muttered to himself that it did look like it, then thought for a moment and simply asked directly.
"You know Miyamoto Rei?"
Miyamoto Kiriko, who was leaning against the wall to get up, was stunned when she heard this. She naturally didn't understand either of the two words, but Niu Kun pronounced Miyamoto Rei's name in Japanese. Although Niu Kun's learning ability wasn't very strong, he could still remember the name after saying it a few times.
Seeing that the woman did react, Niu Kun recited Miyamoto Rei's name again. This time, Miyamoto Kiriko was completely certain that the other party had not just called out the name unintentionally.
"How do you know Li's name? Who are you? What did you do to Li?!"
Miyamoto Kiriko became agitated instantly. Although Niu Kun couldn't understand her, he could obviously guess what she was asking. However, Niu Kun just chuckled and didn't answer at all. Instead, he threw the gun in his hand in front of her.
"This is..."
Miyamoto Kiriko picked up the spear in surprise, and then saw the other person point at the spear, then at himself, and then say "victory" in Japanese, followed by Miyamoto Rei's name.
Miyamoto Kiriko was even more surprised upon hearing this. After thinking for a moment, she understood what Niu Kun meant. If she wasn't mistaken, he meant that if she won, he would return Miyamoto Rei to her, or at least tell her where the news was.
Miyamoto Kiriko immediately suppressed her hatred, narrowed her eyes, gritted her teeth, held the cross-shaped spear, took a deep breath, and thrust it out again, this time quite insidiously aiming for Niu Kun's lower body.
"How despicable."
After disarming Miyamoto Kiriko once again, Niu Kun glared angrily at her, then lunged forward and pulled her into his arms. Ignoring her resistance, he ripped off her coat, then let her struggle free before casually tossing it away.
Miyamoto Kiriko then realized that there was a reward for winning and a punishment for losing. Sure enough, Niu Kun threw the spear to Miyamoto Kiriko again, clearly intending to continue teasing her.
"Damn monster?!"
Furious and anxious, Miyamoto Kiriko immediately launched another attack, but was still easily caught by Niu Kun. This was a completely unequal duel. Niu Kun said with a mocking tone.
“I’m always fair, so, it’s time for the second item... this time it’s... pants.”
Before he finished speaking, Niu Kun pulled Miyamoto Kiriko over again, and while she struggled and resisted, he pulled off her trousers and shoes, revealing her plump and beautiful legs. Then he let her struggle to break free and considerately returned the spear to her.
At this point, Miyamoto Kiriko was well aware that the other party was deliberately mocking her, but she had no choice at all. She immediately launched another attack, and then Niu Kun ripped off her shirt.
After her shirt was ripped off, Miyamoto Kiriko was left only with her bra and panties. Even with Miyamoto Kiriko's outgoing personality, she couldn't help but feel ashamed, extremely angry, and powerless.
At this moment, Miyamoto Kiriko also understood that continuing the duel would only add some fun for her opponent. Given his despicable behavior, she dared not even think about what would happen to her daughter if she fell into the hands of such an evil and lustful monster.
Moreover, where exactly is Li now? Is she still alive?!
A terrifying thought suddenly arose in Miyamoto Kiriko's mind: Could it be... that this monster got tired of playing with Rei and then ate her?!
This speculation made Miyamoto Kiriko even more flustered, and her gaze towards Niu Kun became even more hateful.
If Niu Kun knew Miyamoto Kiriko's thoughts, he would definitely feel wronged. He was just a lecher, not a pervert, or rather, just a lecherous pervert, but not a cannibalistic pervert.
In the demon world, Niu Kun's character can be considered quite noble, even though for demons, "noble" is practically an insult.
But Niu Kun truly believed himself to be the best of the best.
For example, even though Miyamoto Kiriko stabbed him so many times with a gun, Niu Kun didn't stab her back. He just stripped her of a piece of clothing as punishment. Anyone who saw this demon would praise him as a good demon.
Without some basic self-control and manners, how could you let the other party be so arrogant?!
Panicked and disoriented, Miyamoto Kiriko hastily thrust twice more, but unfortunately, she lost both times without exception. She even lost her last two pieces of underwear, leaving her naked. In despair, Miyamoto Kiriko could only launch one last attack.
"Well, according to the principle of fairness, you've lost everything, so it's my turn to stab you." After taking Miyamoto Kiriko's cross-shaped pistol for the last time, Niu Kun threw it away and then, without any hesitation, followed the rules of the game, enjoying what the victor deserved...
[The female character in the storyline has been possessed by a host, causing a slight increase in the world's erosion level.]

"It seems... the Takashiro family isn't so peaceful either."
It was already late at night, but the escape team had not yet fallen asleep. Except for Saya Takagi, the other girls had gathered together again. Saeko Busujima, based on her observations in the evening, couldn't help but shake her head and sigh.
With Saya Takagi's connections, they easily entered the Takagi family home and met the head of the household: a middle-aged man with the airs of a soldier from the old empire and a beautiful and mature businesswoman.
They tacitly avoided mentioning Niu Kun's existence, mainly because they weren't sure if he would believe it, since the existence of undead was already unbelievable enough.
But no matter how unbelievable it may seem, it can at least be explained by America's biochemical experiments. However, the sudden appearance of a legendary monster that has long been scorned by people is a huge challenge to people's intelligence and values.
In fact, if they hadn't been bullied by that monster so many times, they probably wouldn't have believed it if they had only heard about it.
But this unbelievable thing just happened without any warning.
No one could have predicted it.
Chapter Twenty: Taking Action
Back at the Takagi residence, Saya Takagi was the most relaxed, reverting to a bit of her pampered young lady demeanor. However, Saya did not distance herself from her companions; instead, she tried to persuade them to stay and wait for contact with government rescue forces.
However, Saeko Busujima still felt that she should keep her promise and leave the Takashiro family tomorrow to meet up with Ushiro. She actually had some selfish reasons, after all, her father was not in Japan and she could not contact him for a while, and she felt a strange sense of pleasure in being by Ushiro's side.
Although Niu Kun's appearance is terrifying, his style of doing things is just what Saeko Busujima likes. It's a pity that Saeko Busujima doesn't have a suitable weapon, otherwise she could have enjoyed hacking and slashing the zombies with Niu Kun without worrying about being surrounded and trapped by a large number of zombies.
Miyamoto Rei actually wanted to go back to Niu Kun's side. When they first separated, Miyamoto Rei breathed a sigh of relief and even had the idea of leaving Niu Kun and flying far away.
But soon after, Miyamoto Rei felt tense and uneasy again, and even needed to touch the leather strap around her neck to relieve the pressure. Miyamoto Rei felt that she might be sick, or rather... crazy.
As for Shizuka Marikawa, she was much more conflicted, but still planned to leave with the others. Alice, on the other hand, had no choice at all. Although the other women wanted to leave her at the safer Takashiro family home, Niu Kun wouldn't agree.
"Forget it, no matter how much fighting there is here, let's leave tomorrow."
Shaking her head, Saeko Busujima decided to stop thinking about those troubling things. Since she had sworn to be loyal to her lord, she would fulfill her vow with her life.
Since none of the girls intended to change their minds, let's go back to sleep and leave tomorrow after we've packed everything up.
The rain had not stopped by the next morning.
Saeko Busujima then suggested leaving, but at the urging of Saya Takagi and her parents, she decided to stay until the rain subsided in the afternoon.
Yuriko Takagi seems to have learned some hidden secrets from Saya Takagi, but she didn't directly know that it was a powerful yokai. She only pieced together an image of someone who was very strong, but also very rough and lewd.
Out of respect for force, the Takashiro family wanted to establish a relationship with them. Subsequently, the Takashiro couple each gave Saeko Busujima, who was temporarily leading the group, a kimono and a treasured Murata sword.
The rain stopped in the afternoon, and the dark clouds gradually dispersed.
The checkpoint sent bad news: multiple large groups of undead were converging on the Takashiro family. This put the entire Takashiro family on high alert, and everyone in the family was mobilized.
"Ah, it's connected! It's finally connected!"
Finally remembering her friend's phone number, Shizuka Marikawa answered the call and couldn't wait to let her friend know she was safe. Just as Rika Nan was about to ask Shizuka Marikawa's location, her phone suddenly exploded.
"Hmm...this is..."
Far away at the sea airport, Nanri Kaori squinted her eyes as she looked out the window...
"What is that...?"
Rei Miyamoto pointed to the dazzling light shining in the distance and asked with a puzzled expression.
"Could it be..."
Saya Takagi was startled and quickly said to Rei Miyamoto, "Rei, take a look at your scope."
"what?"
