Chapter 48 Niu Niu and Baby
Chapter 48 Niu Niu and Baby
The baby's mother, who was chatting nearby, noticed that her baby was clinging to a young man and came over.
"Baby, didn't Mommy tell you to be polite to people?" She then said to Zhang Niu, "Don't be offended. Baby is just like this today; he doesn't usually cling to strangers."
The baby at her feet rushed into her mother's arms. Pointing to the cow, she said, "Mommy... airplane... big peach..." She repeated it several times. The baby's mother finally realized that the person in front of her was the one who gave her the peaches last time.
"Thank you so much for the big peach you gave my baby last time," she said, pulling the baby along. "Say thank you to your brother."
"Thank you, big brother." The baby wanted to see the big brother transform into an airplane, tilting his head and asking.
Speechless, Zhang Niu chuckled and said, "Next time, that plane can't be conjured up in an instant."
After finally managing to fool the little girl, Zhang Niu could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He hadn't expected the little girl to remember this so clearly. Meanwhile, the mother next to him felt that her daughter was much happier than usual today, though she wondered why.
Anyone who sees the baby's mother up close will say she looks incredibly young. She doesn't look like she's ever been married, let alone has a lovely little daughter. I wonder who was lucky enough to marry her.
While Zhang Niu wasn't paying attention, Niu Niu was stuffing a large bunch of wild grapes into her mouth one by one, deliberately waving them in front of the baby.
The baby, watching from the side, kept glancing at the wild grapes. The clever baby ran to Zhang Niu's side and tugged at his clothes, giving him a pitiful look.
At first, I didn't know what it was about. But when I saw the baby glancing at the wild grapes from time to time, I realized it was for this. These wild grapes were brought back by Zhang Niu when he was making wine a few days ago, and he left a lot for his little sister.
"Niu Niu, come and get this little girl a bunch of wild grapes," he said to the little girl.
The usually well-behaved little sister ran outside eating wild grapes. It seems the two little ones have a slight problem. Having no other choice, Zhang Niu went inside and got a bunch himself.
The baby held a large bunch of wild grapes, her face beaming with joy. She even ran to her mother.
My younger sister and baby are only a year apart in age. When other people meet for the first time, they usually bring out nice things to share with their friends. My younger sister is really something else...
Seeing that everything was alright, Zhang Niu prepared to return to Happy Little Abode. Just as he was about to leave, Zhang's mother called him back, saying she was a relative of Aunt Wen. She had thought the yellow croaker and loach were delicious at noon and wanted to buy some for her friends to try. She asked if he still had any.
After thinking about it, I realized that Happy House still has quite a few animals there, so selling some wouldn't bother them. They're going to be sold sooner or later anyway.
"There are more, but they're all at Xiaozhu's place. How about we go together?"
The baby's mother had heard Aunt Wen mention it. Zhang Wa had contracted a lot of land on the mountain. These yellow catfish were also raised by him. When Zhang Niu mentioned it, she agreed to go and take a look together.
When the younger sister saw that the little girl was also going to Happy Little House, she quickly followed. She stayed close behind Zhang Niu and made all sorts of faces at the little girl.
Zhang Niu found it particularly amusing to watch the two girls making faces at each other along the way. When they arrived at Happy Little House, the baby's mother was also attracted by the bamboo house. It was rare to see such an exquisite bamboo house in the countryside, especially with a large patch of cycads surrounding it.
Zhang Niu wasn't surprised by the baby's mother's astonishment; almost everyone who came here had the same expression. The younger sister, meanwhile, said to the baby, "Isn't it nice? This is my brother's place; there are lots of fun things here." She looked quite pleased with herself.
Walking along the stone path, I arrived at the front yard and invited them to sit under the pergola. I then went inside to get my own yellow straw.
Yellow leeches are sensitive to sunlight and are best kept in a shady place. Zhang Niu, however, simply placed the entire bucket in a dark room, covered with a washbasin, just to prevent them from escaping at night.
The baby's mother, who was outside, was also looking around. In the afternoon, the wild boar piglets were all fast asleep in the shed. Only a few piglets had run outside, and the baby watched with wide eyes as her little sister and the piglets played happily. Taking advantage of her mother's inattention, the baby ran over as well.
The baby had just run up to the piglet. Looking at the little black pig, she launched into a barrage of questions, leaving the girl, who was playing with the piglet, speechless. Finally, the exasperated girl blurted out, "Wait until the big wild boar comes back! It'll scare you to death!"
"Big wild boar. Is it like this one?" Even in the baby's eyes, she could clearly distinguish between a big wild boar and a piglet. When she saw the giant boar coming out of the door, especially its sharp tusks, she was so frightened that she ran back to her mother and cried loudly. This made Niu Niu laugh out loud.
The baby's mother was also startled by the appearance of this "King Kong". What's even stranger is that this wild boar was quite leisurely. It even ran up to Niu Niu, grunted, and then ran into the pigpen.
Even while I was inside pretending to be a baby, I heard crying outside. I thought something had happened. When I went out to check, I found out that my baby had been frightened by the dog that had just woken up. I was so embarrassed...
The baby, who had just been in his mother's arms, saw Zhang Niu come out and ran to him again, getting more tears on his clothes. The mother gently rubbed the still-crying baby and comforted him, "Baby, don't cry. It's embarrassing to cry at your age..."
After Zhang Niu said that, the baby's crying subsided. His face was all covered in grime. "Brother, that big piggy scared me. I'm scared..." he said, patting his chest.
"That was all the older brother's fault. How about I call him out for you and let you go up and beat him up? How about that to vent your anger for me?"
"That baby is afraid of pigs."
He shouted towards the outside of the shed, "King Kong, come out!"
Jin Gang rushed out of the shed a moment later. He knew he had made a mistake and obediently walked up to Zhang Niu.
"Come here, baby. Let it out. Hold your little hand and gently pat the metal a few times."
The baby who was just crying suddenly became happy. She even wanted Zhang Niu to carry her onto Jin Gang's back, which made Zhang Niu sweat profusely. Just a moment ago she was crying and fussing, but now she's completely changed her tune.
The baby's mother watched everything unfold. She hadn't expected something like this—even more intelligent than a wild boar. It had really given her a fright when they first came out. Seeing that her baby was alright, she felt much relieved.
Seeing that the baby had stopped crying, Zhang Niu stood up and said apologetically to the baby, "I'm sorry about earlier. I forgot to tell you on the way here that there's a wild boar at home."
"It's alright. Luckily, it's farmed. Otherwise, wild boars like this would be too scary."
"Here are your yellowtail and loach." He handed over the bag. The mother looked at the wriggling yellowtail in the bag. "Thank you. It's getting late, I'm also planning to head back to the county town soon."
The baby who was just crying is now happily playing with King Kong. Suddenly, she heard her mother's voice, "Baby's gone back. Come here quickly."
Hearing this, the baby said reluctantly, "Big piggy, I have to go back now. I'll come see you again next time."
Seeing this, King Kong snorted a few times and slipped back into the house.
Second update. I need votes! Recommendations and favorites! Regarding the book review, some people said grouper is a sea fish, but that's probably a different category. I do have grouper here.
