Chapter 35 See? It flew!
ashore.
The two figures quickly separated, clearly indicating that the outcome of the battle was already decided.
Kakashi and Might Guy made a reconciliation seal with each other, and then walked together toward the shore.
"Kakashi, your swordsmanship seems to have improved a lot."
Rubbing his slightly sore arms, Matt Kai muttered in a low voice, "You almost chopped my nunchucks in half."
"...Swordsmanship is the foundation of the Hatake clan."
After a moment of silence, Kakashi said, "Even if I have to give up ninjutsu, I will never give up swordsmanship."
This is a line he recently saw in a novel, and he thought it sounded pretty good, so he adapted it here.
As a result, Matt Kai seemed to have been hit with a remote control, his body trembling as he exclaimed loudly:
"These lines are so youthful! No wonder he's my nemesis, Kakashi!"
His face flushed, he stared at Kakashi and said, "Continue! Tell me more!"
Kakashi's lips twitched slightly beneath his mask. He began to regret why he had gone along with Might Guy and uttered such an embarrassing line.
"However..." Kakashi said, setting aside the topic of the previous lines, "Your taijutsu has also improved significantly. If those guys knew, they'd probably be quite surprised, wouldn't they?"
As he spoke, Kakashi glanced casually at Uchiha Ike, whose face remained completely calm.
However, Uchiha Ike seemed not to hear, and simply looked calmly at the surface of the Naka River.
In fact, he was looking at his system panel.
The probability that Fugaku Uchiha would think of himself for no reason is basically zero.
So, what does the other person want from me?
Uchiha Ike scratched his head.
However, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't figure out why the clan leader wanted to see a low-ranking ninja like himself.
"Chi-san, what are you thinking about?" Might Guy waved his hand in front of him.
"Nothing, just thinking about what to eat tonight." Uchiha Ike finally snapped out of his reverie and smiled at the two of them. "Are you finished?"
"It's over." Might Guy clenched his fist, grinned, and blinked his left eye wildly. "My hand-to-hand combat forced him to pull out a short sword, so this time it's a 50/50 fight!"
Kakashi glanced at Might Guy silently, offering no rebuttal.
"I see." Uchiha Ike praised with a smile, "No wonder you are the fastest Chunin to be promoted in Konoha's history."
"Well..." he said, glancing between the two of them before slowly asking, "Who wants to spar with me?"
Today is the last day before the teams are divided. Without knowing who the instructor will be, Uchiha Ike naturally wants to hone his skills as much as possible.
After all, it wasn't unheard of in the original work for a mission to become an A-rank mission on the first attempt. Uchiha Ike felt that having more strength now would give him more confidence when carrying out missions.
"Sorry, Ike-san, I'm a little tired," Might Guy said, scratching his head sheepishly.
He originally intended to fight two opponents at once, taking on Uchiha Ike and Kakashi in a series of battles.
He discovered that he had overestimated his physical abilities.
Might Guy was already finding it a bit difficult with just the simple combination of Hatake swordsmanship and Konoha taijutsu, let alone Kakashi, who also combined Chunin-level ninjutsu. It's no wonder he's his nemesis.
Therefore, he really doesn't have the energy to fight Uchiha Ike again.
Just then.
"I'll do it."
Kakashi said calmly.
Ever since Kakashi learned that Uchiha Ike sensed his and Obito's presence when he confessed to Nohara Rin, he had developed a certain curiosity about this Uchiha boy.
Furthermore, despite having talent that even his father considered mediocre, he achieved a body-flicker speed surpassing that of a genin yesterday...
Kakashi's enthusiasm for exploring the Uchiha Pond was higher than ever before.
He stepped forward, his eyes widening, his usually lazy gaze instantly turning sharp as he tried to catch a glimpse of unusual emotion in the other person's eyes.
However, Uchiha Ike remained calm and met his gaze.
"Okay." Uchiha Ike simply smiled and nodded in agreement, and didn't forget to thoughtfully ask, "Do you need to rest for a bit?"
Kakashi paused slightly, then shook his head and said coldly, "No need."
Although Kakashi felt that Uchiha Ike's level was beyond that of his peers, as the fastest genius to be promoted to Chunin in Konoha, he still had his own pride.
I still have 60% of my stamina and more than half of my chakra left, which is more than enough to finish this battle.
"Understood." Seeing that Kakashi insisted that he didn't need to rest, Uchiha Ike didn't say anything more and nodded noncommittally: "Then let's begin."
After saying that, he turned and walked towards the Naka River. A burst of azure chakra rose from the soles of his feet, and with a light leap, he stood quietly on the surface of the Naka River.
Kakashi followed and walked over.
Just then, Matt Kai, who was resting to the side, suddenly spoke up.
"Kakashi," Might Guy said earnestly, "be careful when you fly."
Kakashi paused slightly, feeling a strange unease in his heart.
What does it mean to fly?
Kakashi shook his head, dismissing his thoughts, and walked forward without looking back.
#
He watched as Kakashi slowly walked up to him.
Uchiha Ike couldn't help but smile, his eyes full of pleasure.
I don't know who Obito Uchiha is.
Kakashi is the real gem.
Hatake swordsmanship, lightning release ninjutsu, and various other ninjutsu talents...
but......
Kakashi is still just a seedling, with much untapped potential.
If you use Jonin-level chakra to beat someone up, you can naturally get a considerable reward.
But if the threshold is raised so high the first time, it won't be so easy to provoke Kakashi's emotions again next time.
This goes against Uchiha Ike's concept of sustainable development, and what he hates most is draining the pond to catch all the fish.
Let's add some water first.
Thinking this, Uchiha Ike smiled at Kakashi and asked, "Shall we begin?"
Kakashi didn't say anything more, he just nodded and formed the opposing hand seals.
The same applies to Uchiha Ike.
As the opposing seals were formed, water splashed up beneath their feet, and they instantly rushed towards each other!
The moment they arrived in front of each other, Kakashi struck first. Without any hesitation, he twisted all his strength, found the right angle, and threw a punch that slammed heavily into Uchiha Ike's handsome face.
What Kakashi most wants to destroy right now is that opponent's always nonchalant smiling face!
Almost the instant his fist reached the other man's nose.
Uchiha Ike then reacted, his expression changing slightly as he clenched his fist towards Kakashi.
too slow.
That's incredibly slow; it's already over.
Kakashi glanced at Uchiha Ike's actions and thought to himself.
At that initial velocity, as soon as Uchiha Ike's fist was extended, he could already knock his nose off, and even have the leeway to punch each of his eyes again!
As victory was confirmed, Kakashi felt no joy, but rather a sudden, inexplicable disappointment.
"I thought you were something special, but it turns out you're nothing special, Uchiha Ike..."
Father's judgment was right after all...
boom--
As the fist struck the solid object, Uchiha Ike's body flew backward rapidly.
creak...
A series of teeth-grinding sounds and crunching sounds rang out.
Kakashi knew that was the sound of Uchiha Ike's nose being smashed... right?
I watched myself getting further and further away from the river.
Unable to comprehend the situation, Kakashi struggled to twist his neck.
He saw that Matt Kai had somehow gotten up from the ground on the riverbank, laughing and raising his arms in his direction.
"Look, it's flying!"
