Chapter 10 My Monster Girl Mentor
Chapter 10 My Monster Girl Mentor
Su Lan and Tia teamed up to tease Seraya once, and they had their fun, but the boomerang quickly returned to them.
With no boat to take them, the two of them had to miserably walk back on their own!
They arrived with ease and composure, but left in a rush, stumbling and crawling.
When they got home, the two were exhausted and their hearts were pounding.
After saying good afternoon to Tia, Su Lan lay down on the bed and quickly fell asleep.
In a daze, a burning sensation spread from between my eyebrows and quickly flowed throughout my body via my blood.
The sound of the tides echoed in my ears, and a faint, hazy humming drifted from afar.
Ethereal yet captivating.
Su Lan swam forward uncontrollably.
The seawater did not hinder him at all; on the contrary, it became a driving force for his progress.
As the fog dissipated, a figure came into view.
She leaned against the transparent bubble, her fishtail splashing across the sea in time with the rhythm of the humming.
Seemingly sensing something, the singing abruptly stopped.
She instantly submerged and disappeared.
Just when Su Lan thought the other party had left, the water suddenly broke open in front of her without a sound.
Seawater slid down her translucent ear fins and fair collarbone, and her golden pupils held a hint of curiosity.
"You've arrived?"
Her voice was melodious and pleasant, as if she were humming an unknown tune.
Su Lan's consciousness snapped back to reality: "Where is this...? Are you the owner of the scales?"
"This is the ancestral home of my race. Did you arrive here using scales?"
She had delicate features, graceful movements, and a gentle tone.
But Su Lan still felt an indescribable sense of oppression.
The other party could control him for more than ten minutes by humming a few lines, which was far beyond Su Lan's understanding.
Even their design features are strikingly similar to mythical creatures from past legends:
Siren.
Unsure of her relationship with Seraya, Su Lan honestly replied, "It's a scale, a gift from a friend."
With a thought, diamond-shaped scales appeared between his eyebrows.
The siren approached, reached out and touched it, and after a moment, a look of understanding appeared on its face.
"Oh, it's that little one. She even asked me to look after you. You two seem to get along well. What's your name?"
"Su Lan, young lord of Black Reef Fjord, if I may ask, is the 'she' you speak of... Celia?"
After speaking, Su Lan carefully observed the other party's reaction.
"Just be casual. My name is Aiolia, you can just call me Sia."
Sia remained composed, recalling briefly, "But it's not Seraya. I've never heard of that name before. Perhaps it's some other junior member of the clan?"
Su Lan was testing the waters, but after asking, she became even more confused.
Judging from Xia's natural demeanor, she didn't seem to be lying.
Could the information provided by "Su Lan who ran away" be incorrect?
The messages left on the keepsake box are very subjective, and thinking about it, that's certainly a possibility.
Su Lan wanted to ask more questions, but her vision suddenly became blurry, as if shrouded in a layer of mist.
He blinked hard until his vision returned to normal.
"You can't maintain the connection for long right now. If there's nothing else, go back and rest."
Xia noticed Su Lan's unusual behavior and gently reminded her, "There's no need to push yourself. You've already obtained the qualifications for the extraordinary. There's still plenty of time. Once you've replenished your energy, we'll meet again."
But Su Lan didn't have much time.
He had only a superficial understanding of the extraordinary and was in dire need of promotion, so he had many questions that needed to be answered.
Having gathered her thoughts, Su Lan began, "I have a few questions I'd like to ask. Would it be convenient for Instructor Xi Ya to answer them?"
"Mentor?" Sia chuckled, her tail fin splashing the water. "Alright, what do you want to know?"
"I've seen knights and magicians; they also possess immense power, yet they aren't called extraordinary. So, what is extraordinary?"
Xia paused slightly.
She hadn't expected Su Lan to ask such a profound question.
"They can indeed gain power by either training their physique or by borrowing elements."
Xia's voice became distant, carrying a hint of imperceptible solemnity.
"But like travelers on the sea, no matter how big they build their ships, they are ultimately just a piece of duckweed."
"And the extraordinary..."
She looked directly into Su Lan's eyes: "It's about leaping into the deep sea, growing gills and scales, and forcibly changing one's life form."
"People say that demons and evil creatures are corrupted monsters, but in reality..."
Sia's lips parted slightly, still trying to say something, but Su Lan couldn't hear her no matter what.
A wave of dizziness washed over him, his vision went black, and he swayed precariously.
Fortunately, Sia stopped her story in time and summoned the tide to support him.
"I'm sorry, it seems you're not yet able to handle it."
With an apologetic expression, Xi Ya controlled the two streams of water to massage Su Lan's head.
The cool sensation made Su Lan feel a little better.
He had only heard half of what was said, but "gills and scales" was indeed a very vivid metaphor for aquatic life.
Su Lan couldn't help but ask again, "Will I grow gills and scales?"
"Hmm..." Sia pondered for a moment, noticing Su Lan's increasingly subtle expression, then suddenly smiled: "How could that be?"
"You are still you, you won't turn into a fish, you just have more 'characteristics' and more identities."
Su Lan's vision blurred again, and this time, no matter how hard he tried, he could not regain his clarity.
"It doesn't matter if you don't understand. I'll teach you extraordinary methods first."
Xia's voice gradually faded into the distance.
"Absorb magic... come into contact with pollution... then slowly accept it... like this..."
Su Lan felt that some strange knowledge had appeared in her mind, but she no longer had the energy to look at it.
His consciousness vanished instantly, and he fell into a deep sleep.
……
the other side.
Seraya put down her notebook and let out a soft sigh of relief.
"Excellent, the script is perfect, he definitely didn't notice!"
She recalled her earlier performance and couldn't help but hum a folk song from her hometown.
Her voice was clear and melodious, completely unlike her usual hoarseness.
"What should you call me when we meet again?"
Seraya took off her boots and put her legs up on the table, the psychedelic colored light flowing between her calves and toes.
"Teacher Sia, hee hee!"
Suddenly, her expression froze, and she quickly pulled her legs back and sat up straight.
"Oh dear, being a pirate... a merchant for so long, I've forgotten how to maintain proper decorum at all times. No, I need to review a few more times, or I'll give myself away next time!"
"Captain Seraya, I have finished drawing the map you asked me to draw, and the exploration of the surrounding waters is basically complete."
Barrow's voice came from outside the door.
"Okay, wait a moment." Seraya looked at her calves to make sure the disguise was correct, and then opened the door.
"Are the reefs distributed the same as the map I gave you? Are there any areas we can utilize?"
"Exactly the same, it feels like a lot of work was done. Where did the captain get it from?" Barrow handed over his logbook, somewhat curious.
"A friend," Seraya mumbled, glancing at the logbook a few times before instructing:
"Excellent! Take the sailors and plan the route immediately. This time, we'll give those rabid dogs of the Empire a real beating!"
