Feng Shui Secrets of the Entertainment Industry

Chapter 6 Changing Fate

Chapter 6 Changing Fate

Ignoring the excited President Yang, I helped Bai Xue up from the ground.

"I'm all better, all better?"

Bai Xue was a little incredulous, muttering blankly.

"Minor Snow!"

The middle-aged woman rushed over at that moment and helped me lift Bai Xue up.

Bai Xue turned her head blankly to look at the woman, tears streaming down her face like a burst dam. "Mom, I'm alright, it's gone!"

"Is he really gone?"

The middle-aged woman was momentarily incredulous.

"She's really gone!" Snow White nodded.

The middle-aged woman couldn't contain her emotions either and hugged Bai Xue, crying.

I didn't try to stop them; I just let the mother and daughter vent their emotions.

Turning around, President Yang's face was flushed, while President Ou was somewhat dazed, seemingly still unable to recover and somewhat unable to believe what had just happened.

Seeing me looking at him, Mr. Ou asked, "Master Feng, what I just saw, was it a fox spirit?"

Compared to the previous playful use of "Master Feng," this time Boss Ou addressed him very sincerely.

"It's not a fox spirit, it's a fox demon!" I corrected.

"These things really exist!" Mr. Ou murmured.

"Old Ou, tell me, isn't it exciting?"

President Yang hugged President Ou tightly and asked excitedly.

"Stimulate!"

Mr. Ou nodded, his gaze towards me now filled with a hint of fervor.

"Master Feng, thank you for saving my Xiaoxue!"

The middle-aged woman finished crying and came over to express her gratitude.

"Just doing it as a side effect!"

I said casually, but I was actually very distressed because my Beifeng Ghost-Slaying Seal would be unusable for a while.

Although it hurts, I'm forced to pretend.

"May I ask, how did you get that fox on you?"

I looked at Bai Xuedao.

When I asked this question, Mr. Yang and Mr. Ou also came over; they were even more curious than I was.

"I invited them myself!"

Bai Xue hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"You invited yourself?"

Before I could ask, Mr. Yang spoke first.

"Um!"

Bai Xue nodded.

"Why did you suddenly decide to summon a fox spirit?"

"I asked curiously."

"Come, sit down and tell me slowly!"

Just as Bai Xue was about to speak, President Ou pointed to the sofa.

"Yes, yes, sit down and talk!" Mr. Yang followed up.

Bai Xue and her mother exchanged a glance, then followed us to the sofa and sat down.

"Mr. Yang, Mr. Ou, you know our industry. Without connections or a powerful background, climbing the ranks is incredibly difficult!"

After sitting down, Bai Xue slowly began to speak.

"That's correct!" President Ou nodded.

"I debuted early and know how cruel this industry is. Over the years, I've tried my best to climb up, but the company's resources are limited, and they can only give me small roles. I want to be a leading actor, I want to be famous, so I have to give my all!"

When Bai Xue talked about dedication, she subconsciously clenched her fist. "I don't want to dedicate myself, but in this industry, some things are beyond your control. If you don't dedicate yourself, you'll face pressure from everyone—from the company to your agent, to the investors!"

"Just when I was struggling with this decision, I met Qing'er!"

"Back then, Qing'er was already a popular actress because of that big-budget Qing Dynasty drama. I initially thought she was the ambitious type, but after spending time with her, I realized she was different from me. She had absolutely no interest in acting; her mind was entirely on her wealthy boyfriend!"

"And so we got to know each other, and we became friends!"

"After she learned about my predicament, she said there was a very powerful shaman in the capital who was very effective in both marriage and career matters. She said that she was able to be with her boyfriend because she had a ritual performed by that shaman to attract love!"

"What's this fortune teller's name?" Mr. Yang interrupted when he heard this.

"I don't know her exact name, Qing'er calls her Granny Long!" Bai Xue said.

"Did you go to see this old woman?" I asked.

"Um!"

Bai Xue nodded and said, "After Qing'er told me about the Dragon Granny, I wanted to give it a try. If the Dragon Granny is effective, I can become famous without making offerings. If she's not effective, it's no big deal; it'll just be a waste of time!"

"And then?" I asked.

"When I went there, I only wanted to perform a ritual to boost my career, but the patriarch said that such rituals wouldn't be of much use to me. At most, it would only help me get roles, and I might even be promoted from fifth or sixth female lead to third or fourth female lead, and I still might not become famous!"

"Moreover, the ritual to boost my luck cannot change my fate; it merely brings forward the fortune of the second half of my life!"

"I was a little disappointed at the time, so I asked Luang Phor if there was any other way?"

"The patriarch told me she could perform rituals to change one's destiny!"

She said changing one's destiny is different from boosting one's luck. Boosting luck is about bringing forward one's fortune in the second half of life, and once it's used up, one is destined to be poor and destitute for the rest of their life!

"Changing one's destiny is different; it's creating something from nothing, adding something to my fate!"

"You did it?" I interrupted.

One's destiny is not something that can be changed casually; it comes at a price.

I've treated so many people with mixed yin and yang practices, and not one of them dared to change their fate.

This involves far too many complexities.

"Done!"

Bai Xue gave a bitter smile and said, "I was out of my mind back then. I didn't want to make a sacrifice, but I wanted to be famous and popular. I couldn't think of any other way!"

I shook my head inwardly. This is what it means to want both. There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world.

"This has nothing to do with fox spirits, does it?" Mr. Yang asked, somewhat puzzled.

"It's really okay!"

Bai Xue nodded and said, "But if I hadn't performed the ritual to change my fate, the fox spirit incident wouldn't have happened!"

"Tell me, what exactly happened!" President Yang said.

"Before the ritual to change my destiny was performed, Luang Phor told me that changing my destiny would make me extremely famous, but there would also be a side effect: I would be more susceptible to attracting evil spirits!"

"I didn't think that much about it at the time, and I didn't take what the patriarch said about attracting evil spirits seriously. I was just too eager to become famous!"

Bai Xue slowly exhaled and said with a wry smile.

"So you became famous a couple of years ago because of changing your fate, not because of the fox spirit?" Mr. Ou asked thoughtfully.

"right!"

Bai Xue nodded and said, "Not long after I changed my fate, I collaborated with Prince Tong on a TV series, and gained some fame in the industry!"

"I was so happy at the time. I saw the hope of becoming a huge star without having to sacrifice anything, but the aftereffects followed!"

At this point, Bai Xue subconsciously glanced at her fingers and said dryly, "I've started to frequently encounter ghosts and spirits, especially while filming. Sometimes, I can feel that I'm not myself at all!"

"The worst time was when I used nail clippers to cut my nails bit by bit, and then cut away the flesh underneath them little by little!"

"After that incident, I knew I couldn't go on like this. If I did, I would die!"
