Chapter 548 The Inside Story of the Xuanmen Association

Chapter 548 The Inside Story of the Xuanmen Association

The meeting place that Liu Lingling chose was the same club as last time.

"Sister Lingling, let's meet, it's like a secret rendezvous between underground party members!"

After meeting, Fatty Lin said with a smile.

"You, you always have such a set of clever phrases!" Liu Lingling said helplessly, pushing the brewed tea forward. "Here, have a taste, I just brewed it!"

"Longjing tea!"

Fatty Lin picked it up, took a sip, and said, "It smells pretty good! I didn't know Sister Lingling had this skill!"

"You, you just have a good mouth!" Liu Lingling glanced at him and said.

"Who says that? My technique is good too!"

To show off his dexterity, Fatty Lin quickly formed several hand seals. "Sister Lingling, without this level of dexterity, why would those wealthy ladies come to me for massages?"

"Fatty!"

Liu Lingling was caught off guard by this lewd remark and was stunned for a moment. Long Nier frowned and patted Fatty Lin.

"You have such a big mouth!"

Coming to her senses, Liu Lingling nudged Lin Pangzi and said, "I'm not going to argue with you anymore, I can't win an argument with you, let's talk serious!"

"Right, right, let's get down to business!" Fatty Lin said with a fawning smile, as if nothing had happened.

"Xiaolin, Thirteen, and Nier, I know you three want to ask me about the Xuanmen Association. What I want to say is that the association is very complicated, with many factions. I'm just a figurehead there!"

Liu Lingling got straight to the point.

"Sister Lingling, I have to ask something I shouldn't ask: Was the Five Fiends' chaos in Hong Kong orchestrated by a high-ranking member of the Xuanmen Association?" Fatty Lin cut straight to the point.

"I don't know exactly who it is!"

Liu Lingling shook her head.

"But I know this matter is inextricably linked to several high-ranking officials!"

Just when we thought Liu Lingling was deliberately making excuses, she said this again.

"In other words, there are people within the Xuanmen Association who are colluding with outsiders!" Fatty Lin said.

"The situation here is very complicated!"

Liu Lingling pondered for a moment, then said, "In the 1970s and 80s, John Bull knew he couldn't control Hong Kong Island, so he began to make arrangements. On one hand, he loosened his crackdown on triads; on the other hand, he planted seeds of discord in various policies; and on yet another hand, he started to manipulate metaphysics!"

"You all know about the triads. For example, Hung Tai-ti was able to sell flour for ten years without any problems, and then get released from prison at a crucial moment—it's all the foreigners' doing!"

"Leaving aside the policy implications, from a metaphysical perspective, it's the Five Evils causing chaos in Hong Kong!"

At this point, Liu Lingling paused, looked at us, and said, "Whether they were born in Hong Kong or came from the mainland, those who plotted to destabilize Hong Kong still held back to some extent, knowing that Hong Kong is their root. Once Hong Kong is completely in chaos, their root will be gone. So, they still have some bottom line in their schemes. But there is a group of people who would love for Hong Kong's dragon vein to be severed and for society to fall into complete chaos!"

Which group of people?

Hearing this, all three of us were intrigued.

Before this, although we knew there was a mole in the Xuanmen Association, we didn't know exactly which group of people were the mole.

We don't know, but Liu Lingling, who's an insider, does!

She and her master are leading figures in the Hong Kong Feng Shui community. They have been in the association for decades and know its inner workings very well.

"Address handover person!"

Liu Lingling uttered three words.

"The person handing over the address?" I was a little surprised.

"Why are there people handing over addresses?" Fatty Lin muttered to himself.

"When America withdrew from the handover site, a large number of refugees fled from there. Many of these refugees were of Chinese descent, but although they were of Chinese descent, they didn't consider themselves Chinese. This group was the most intolerant of Hong Kong Island and the mainland doing well!"

Liu Lingling said.

"Sister Lingling, do you mean there are Chinese descendants within the Xuanmen Association?" Fatty Lin asked.

"right!"

Liu Lingling nodded and said, "The official count of the number of Vietnamese refugees who fled to Hong Kong Island back then was 200,000, but the actual number was much higher. It's been thirty years since they arrived!"

A cold glint flashed in Liu Lingling's eyes when this was mentioned.

"So many?" I was a little surprised.

"Much more than you imagine!"

Liu Lingling frowned and said, "When America withdrew from the site, the local situation was in chaos, and hundreds of thousands of Chinese refugees fled and poured into Hong Kong Island."

"Although these people are of Chinese blood, they grew up in a foreign land and were influenced by foreign ideas, so they no longer consider themselves Chinese!"

"Sister Lingling, I remember a movie I watched a couple of years ago, I think it was called Flash Point. The three villainous brothers in it were also of Chinese descent and came from a refugee camp!" Fatty Lin said upon hearing this.

"I've seen that movie you mentioned too!"

Liu Lingling smiled and said, "Just like in the movies, very few of the refugees who came from Jiaozhi truly consider Hong Kong Island their home!"

"Having spent time in refugee camps, most of them have an abnormal mindset. After coming out and seeing the prosperity of Hong Kong Island, their mentality became even more distorted!"

We can understand what Liu Lingling said.

Refugee camps are not places for humans to live.

Most of the refugees who managed to reach Hong Kong Island were people with some wealth; those without money simply couldn't make it.

After they arrived, they were locked up in refugee camps, given some relief food every day, and treated like livestock. It would be strange if they could have a normal mentality.

But it was John Bull who ordered them to be locked up.

From what I understand, their release was largely thanks to the appeals of the Chinese community. But instead of being grateful, they turned against those who released them.

"Over the past thirty years, these people have long since infiltrated all walks of life in Hong Kong, especially the metaphysical circle. Many of them came from there and, under the guise of donations, infiltrated the Metaphysical Association. Over the years, they have taken root and cultivated deep roots, and now they occupy many core positions in the association."

"Sister Lingling, what do you mean by donating money?" Fatty Lin asked knowingly.

"Any association needs funding to operate, and the Xuanmen Association is no exception!" Liu Lingling glanced at Fatty Lin and explained, "Most of the Xuanmen Association's funds come from donations!"

"And the source of the donations..."

When the topic of donation came up, Liu Lingling hesitated.

"Oh, Sister Lingling, now that we've come this far, what's there to hesitate about!"

Fatty Lin waved his hand and said, "Actually, I know even if you don't tell me. It's nothing more than various foundations. The actual controllers behind these foundations are either John Bull or America. Of course, some are from Singapore. Anyway, they all can't stand to see us doing well!"

"The saying goes, 'If you take someone's money, you have to do their bidding.' And that's how the Five Fiends wreaked havoc in Hong Kong!"

That's the gist of it.

This is true not only in Hong Kong Island, but also in mainland China.

Various foundations from the West began funding mainland China in the late 1990s and providing research directions. Once you took their money, you had to write papers according to the directions they provided.

What happened next is self-evident.

This is true for some research institutions, and it is also true for the Xuanmen Association.
