Chapter 19 I want them all!
Chapter 19 I want them all!
After some thought, Allen made a decision...
He wants them all!
In the future, Allen's territory and population will be further expanded.
There's never too much food, only too little.
Moreover, only when food is plentiful can some non-food products be produced, such as storing oil, making sauces, and pickling fish.
These side dishes not only diversify Allen's diet, but are also key to food storage.
Since there are no naturally suitable crops for long-term storage, if you want to get through the winter, you need to prepare methods for storing meat in advance.
Allen couldn't just watch as the number of his hard-earned people dwindled by half due to food shortages after a winter's passage, could he?
Perhaps this is common among kobold tribes, as life in the wilderness has a very short average lifespan.
But for Allen, this was completely unacceptable.
This is too desolate.
Allen then used the remaining two crystals in the mountains and forests at the northernmost edge of the territory and on the westernmost coastline.
Since it's not an upgrade from a "natural building" to a "territorial building," but rather only the location is specified, it's similar to having multiple enhancement paths when "training" followers.
Three types of basic buildings that fit the local conditions were also generated.
First, in the mountains and forests:

Name: Wild Hunting Grounds
Category: Production Building
Effect: Send your people to garrison here as "hunters".
Based on the hunters' hunting abilities, a range of 30 kilometers was designated as a "hunting ground".
Hunting success rate slightly increased; hunting output slightly increased; hunter injury probability slightly decreased.
Output: Meat, animal hides, animal bones
Low probability of obtaining: Ferocious Monster Material

Name: Logging Workshop
Category: Building Collection
Effect: Send your people to be stationed here as "lumberjacks".
Based on the loggers' strength, endurance, and other qualities, a logging target of 30 kilometers was identified, and nearby trees were continuously felled.
(Note: This building will no longer be effective once all the trees within the area have been cut down.)
Logging efficiency has been slightly improved; lumberjacks' strength and stamina attributes have continued to grow.
Output: Timber
Low probability of obtaining: Magical precious wood

Name: Forest Ranger's Hut
Category: Incubation Building
Effect: Send your people to be stationed here as "forest rangers".
(Note: Forest rangers must have basic natural affinity; otherwise, they cannot become forest rangers.)
Based on the forest rangers' natural affinity, a 30-kilometer radius around the area was designated as a "protected area" to promote the continued enrichment of the region's ecological environment.
The probability of species reproduction in the protected area has slightly increased; the probability of attracting rare magical beasts and monsters has slightly increased; and the forest rangers' affinity for non-human life has slightly increased.
Low probability of obtaining: rare plant fruits, rare monster drops (feathers, scales, etc.)

Of the three options, Allen chose the [Hunting Grounds] without hesitation.
The logging workshop is also a basic building he needs, as he must make arrangements in advance when he needs a large amount of timber for construction in the future.
As for the Forest Ranger's Hut, it is not a basic building and requires a considerable amount of magical materials to complete.
If you want to attract some druids who love life, or open it to the public as a tourist attraction, these are good options.
Moreover, among Allen's companions, only Viola, who has not yet undergone the enhancement route, still possesses half of the elven bloodline and may be qualified to become a forest ranger.
Allen probably won't need this building for the time being.
Then came three building blueprints generated along the western coastline:

Name: Basic Wharf
Category: Transportation Buildings
Effect: Send citizens to be stationed here as "dock managers".
Depending on the management capabilities of the dock administrator, passing merchant ships will be received and taxes will be collected.
The dock manager's communication skills will continue to improve.
Output: Gold Coins

Name: Shipyard
Category: Craftsman Architecture
Effect: Send your people to be stationed here as "shipbuilding craftsmen".
(Note: Craftsmen must have basic shipbuilding skills; otherwise, they cannot become craftsmen.)
Shipbuilding can begin depending on the skill level of the craftsmen, a process that requires a significant investment of resources.
Output: Ships

Name: Fishing and Hunting Hut
Category: Building Collection
Effect: Send your people to reside here as "fishermen".
Based on the fishermen's fishing and hunting abilities, a 30-kilometer radius around the area was designated as a "fishing zone".
(Note: Basic fishing and hunting tools need to be prepared first, or the people who work as "fishermen" need to have the relevant skills.)
Fishing success rate improved slightly; operational capability in the marine area improved slightly.
Output: Fish catch
Low probability of obtaining: Rare marine resources (such as pearls, whale teeth, deep-sea corals, etc.)

Of the three blueprints, Allen undoubtedly chose the [Fishing and Hunting Hut].
Although kobolds don't have many fishing tools, this only requires making a few simple ones.
Simple fishing nets can be made by twisting tough vines and plant fibers into ropes.
Given the kobolds' small size, it was easy for them to build rafts for their use.
At worst, it just means the fishing area is smaller and the output is lower.
Besides the [Fishing and Hunting Hut], there are two other buildings that Allen has planned to build, but the conditions are not yet sufficient.
Docks and shipyards are the core of a seaport.
If Allen wants to take full advantage of the unique geographical environment of Sapphire Bay in the future, these two buildings should not only be built, but should be built to the best of their ability.
The more and larger the ships that can sail out of here, the stronger the vitality of the harbor will be.
Of course, this will also attract more covetous eyes.
But that's another story.
After selecting the [Hunting Grounds] and [Fishing and Hunting Hut], Allen contacted Flintclaw again.
As expected, the kobolds, the only ruling group under Allen, have received new instructions.
Allen instructed Flintclaw to prioritize the [Kobold's Nest] in the building sequence.
Next is the [Wild Hunting Grounds], which doesn't require much construction, and finally the [Fishing and Hunting Hut], which requires a lot of tools.
After considering the need to adjust the order of tasks, Allen gave Flint a new task.
He ordered Flintclaw to select some of the more clever and intelligent kobolds from the tribe, and to form a scout squad led by Flintclaw himself.
Explore outwards from the northern cliffs.
The goal is to find out if there are any other intelligent races nearby, even just a group of slimes that can understand commands.
Once found, do not act rashly or become hostile; report to Allen immediately.
Allen gave this order not only because the number of kobolds was currently insufficient to meet his needs.
Also, because he needs a more diverse composition of his population.
Kobolds are best at mining, and they are also quite good at building structures with stone. If there are any forging or smelting jobs later on, they can be assigned to them.
But that's about all the work potential they have.
Hunting large wild animals or engaging in fishing and hunting activities are not their forte.
Once the [Wild Hunting Grounds] and [Fishing and Hunting Huts] are built, he will need to assign some of his subjects to oversee these areas in order to maximize the profits.
After giving the orders, Allen got up and went to find Solina and Viola.
He is currently lacking the crystals required for various functions of the Lord's Handbook. Obtaining crystals through achievements is a one-time event, and he has already completed the most desirable achievements.
During this time, he had not relaxed his training and development of his bloodline power, with the aim of increasing his strength as quickly as possible.
Because when the [Lord] level is upgraded to stages 5, 10, and 15, there will also be reward crystals.
Whether it's annexing new inhabitant races or continuing to build up territory, crystals are extremely important.
