Chapter 50 Targeted Training
Chapter 50 Targeted Training
Rika's final blow completely shattered the Insect Armor.
The armor formed by the constructed spell shattered, scattering fragments everywhere. Wan slumped against the wall, arms hanging limply at his sides, fingertips twitching slightly. He had lost all will to fight, and even the thought of unleashing his domain had completely vanished.
"...I surrender."
The conversation went very smoothly, and under Wan's guidance, the group followed the corridor deep into the dungeon to find the stone house.
When the door opened, the interior was surprisingly clean, with hardly any damp or musty smell in the air. A beam of light shone through a small window in the high wall, landing directly on Fushiguro Miki.
She sat in her wheelchair with a thick book spread out on her lap. She raised her head and slowly swept her gaze across the faces of the group. Her expression was calm, showing little sign of panic.
Although she was forcibly abducted these past few days, she looked quite well and her clothes were relatively neat, indicating that Wan had taken basic care of her during her imprisonment.
As for Wan—
Since this operation was not authorized by the college, Yi Gu and his group did not dare to act on their own and could only release Wan in accordance with the previous agreement.
However, before everyone left, the woman was still thinking about her beloved. But since it concerned Sukuna and Fushiguro Megumi, and the higher-ups in the sorcery were unaware that Fushiguro Megumi was still alive, Otsuko and the others naturally wouldn't reveal a single word about Sukuna.
After checking on Tsumiki's body and her curse power and confirming that she was unharmed, Ijichi drove a truck to pick everyone up and take them back to the Gojo family home.
In the following days, following Gojo Satoru's instructions, Otsuko will give these first-year students special training.
Behind the Gojo family's house, there was a wide grassy slope with relatively flat terrain. Otsuko Yuta brought everyone here. Although it was called a manor, it looked more like an abandoned training ground.
"then."
A wooden sword flew towards Xuan Yi, who instinctively reached out and caught it; it was heavier than he had expected.
"Starting today, swordsmanship in the morning, physical combat in the afternoon." Yi Gu, also carrying a similar wooden sword, stood a few steps away, the morning breeze ruffling his white robes. "Let's put the matter of magical power aside for now. Xuan Yi, what you lack most right now isn't magical power, nor the ability to control and enhance it. Let's work on our weaknesses in close combat first!"
The matter of curse power was actually left until last?
Xuan Yi looked down at the wooden knife in his hand, feeling uneasy.
"Senior... I'm not very good with a knife."
Actually, I'm afraid of getting beaten up!
"I know." Yi Gu smiled, a smile that was particularly dazzling in the sunlight, but it sent a chill down Xuan Yi's spine. "So let's start by learning how not to get beaten to death."
Before he could finish speaking, Yi Gu had already lunged forward.
Without any magical enhancement, relying solely on physical attributes and swordsmanship skills, the speed is still astonishing.
Xuan Yi only had time to parry with his sword. The dull thud of the wooden swords colliding made his hand go numb. Then, with a diagonal slash, Xuan Yi's defense was completely destroyed.
For the next hour, Xuan Yi spent almost all of it rolling around on the grass.
Yi Gu's attacks were relentless, like a flowing river, each swing of his sword precisely targeting Xuan Yi's weaknesses. Xuan Yi, moving only on instinct, was as stiff as a puppet on strings.
Snapped.
Another crisp strike, and Xuan Yi's wooden sword slipped from his hand, spinning and embedding itself in the distant grass.
"Without using incantations, Xuan Yi's attacks are like a child wildly swinging a stick." Yi Gu flicked his wrist, tilted his head, and looked somewhat helpless. "Has he never had any proper training before?"
Xuan Yi gave a bitter smile.
He recalled how, on the first day of school, Gojo Satoru dragged him into the training gym, and he himself paid the price of a few broken ribs for a seven-day holiday...
"That's not surprising..." Yigu scratched his head with a wry smile, walked over, and helped Genichi up from the ground. "Actually, it would be better to leave the task of training new recruits to Maki!"
"So, Xuan Yi, you've managed to fight this far relying on your body enhanced by cursed power and your primal instincts. That's really impressive!"
Xuan Yi shrugged helplessly.
"It's alright though." Yigu picked up the wooden sword, put it back in Xuanyi's hand, took two steps back, and assumed a mid-level stance. "I'll teach you step by step. I'll go slower this time. Let's try again."
Xuan Yi gritted his teeth and gripped the hilt of the knife tightly.
"……yes!"
The wooden knives clashed again, the crisp sound echoing across the grassy slope.
The sound of a wheelchair rolling over gravel could be heard from the edge of the training field.
Two elderly butlers pushed a wheelchair closer and stopped under the shade of a tree. Seated in the wheelchair were Fushiguro Megumi and Fushiguro Tsumiki, respectively.
Tsumiki, with a thin blanket covering her legs, quietly watched the scene unfold. Meanwhile, Fushiguro Megumi was tightly bound by talismans and chains, unable to move even a finger, resembling a breathing mummy.
He leaned back in his wheelchair, his face grim, clearly extremely unhappy about being "dragged out to sunbathe."
"Why did you bring me along..." he whispered, as if talking to himself, "Go back."
"No, Megumi." Tsuki didn't turn around, her voice soft but firm. "Staying indoors all day will make you moldy, and you need some fresh air too."
"Look at me like this, do I look like I can even breathe?" Fukuro Megumi tugged at the chains binding her, the metal clanging, her voice filled with suppressed anger. "How long are these guys going to keep me tied up?"
Tsumiki turned her head and smiled. Her smile was warm, like the warmth of sunshine.
"I've heard about Hui's situation," she said softly. "The reason everyone tied you up is because they're afraid Hui might do something irrational. Your friends are very worried about you, so you should hold on until they're completely at ease!"
Fushiguro Megumi turned her face away and stopped speaking.
He knew, of course, that these seals could not stop Su Nuo.
If that monster really wanted to do something, these talismans and chains would be no different from paper.
Strangely, Su Nuo has been eerily quiet these past few days. No matter how much he tries to provoke or test him, the presence deep within his body remains unresponsive.
Su Nuo is still alive.
He could feel that thing inside his body, like a stagnant pool of water, without any agitation or even malice, just existing silently.
The only person who could make Sukuna behave like this is probably that idiot with the eye patch!
"...doing unnecessary things," he muttered under his breath.
A crisp "snap" sound came from afar.
Xuan Yi was hit on the forehead by the wooden sword again, and he squatted down, clutching his head.
Tsumi frowned slightly: "Is it really okay to fight like that?"
"I'm telling you," Fukuro Megumi turned her head, looking at her sister's worried profile, her voice muffled, "Don't just think about caring about others all day long. You were just rescued yourself, so take care of yourself more!"
Besides, if a sorcerer can't even withstand this much training, they'll die. How can they then help others?
Upon hearing this, Tsumiki chuckled softly.
"Na Hui must have helped many people too."
Fukuro Megumi was taken aback, then looked away somewhat awkwardly, her ears turning slightly red.
"...I guess so."
The midday sun became scorching, and training was temporarily suspended.
Xuan Yi slumped in the shadows of the corridor, his face bruised and purple, too weak to even lift a hand. Just then, the manor gate was pushed open, and two figures walked in one after the other.
Yuujin Itadori hummed a lighthearted tune, beads of sweat on his forehead, his steps light and brisk, radiating inexhaustible energy. Behind him, Nobara Kugizaki, however, was a completely different sight—her hair disheveled, her face deathly pale, she leaned against the doorframe, panting heavily, seemingly too exhausted even to utter a curse.
"Kugizaki, do your best!"
"Shut...shut up..." Kugizaki struggled to lift his head, glaring fiercely at Itajitari, "What...what did you eat to grow up like this...?"
Yigu walked over and handed Kugisaki a bottle of water.
"Itadaki's physical fitness and fighting foundation are already very good. Next, the main focus will be on intensive training in weapon enhancement using cursed power." He turned to look at Kugizaki, his tone softening. "As for Kugizaki, his close combat weakness is too obvious. He needs to make up for his physical fitness and close combat skills in the next few days."
"What…" Kugizaki collapsed to the ground. "This kind of training… is it going to last for many more days?!"
Xuan Yi leaned against the pillar, watching the scene before him, but his heart sank slowly.
Such targeted training is certainly a good thing.
But Gojo Satoru arranged such urgent special training at this particular time. Given the personality of that strongest sorcerer, he would never do it without a reason. He must have sensed something—some kind of imminent and more urgent threat.
Will something bad happen...?
