Chapter 121 The Uninvited Guest?
Chapter 121 The Uninvited Guest?
Just in time, Russell arrived at the first floor of the reading room and opened the door to greet the guest.
With much of New York destroyed, many people lost their jobs and became idle.
It is one of the few entertainment venues that has been preserved intact.
The reading room has been seeing more visitors recently than ever before.
Every day, many people come to borrow and return books.
Many people lined up early to enter the reading room to read, study, or work.
After all, at this time of year, it's not easy to find a nice place in New York with heating.
Soon, most of the seats in the reading rooms on the first, second, and third floors were occupied.
But this has little to do with Russell.
He is the boss and has his own lounge.
Sitting in the lounge, Russell stopped his musings and focused on playing with the Power Stone in his hand.
Although it has been decided to give the Power Stone to Loki, not now.
The problem is not scarcity, but inequality.
Once we have the Reality Gem, we can give it to the three of them together.
Russell had already learned quite a bit about the Power Stone's abilities during the ten-day battle with Thanos (a one-sided beating).
He can even mimic the energy of the Power Gem to achieve a similar effect.
However, what troubled Russell was that he was not compatible with the Power Stone and could not fully utilize its power.
The power gem's amplification on him was almost the same as the amplification he received when he later transformed into his human form.
It's fair to say that Russell defeated Thanos entirely through his own abilities.
Russell put away the Power Stone and began toying with the Mind Stone.
If we say that the Power Gem is useless...
It is a pity that it is tasteless.
That gem of the soul is chicken **.
It was of no use to Russell himself, and he was worried that giving it to the members of the Sorcerer Supreme would cause trouble.
Just as Russell put away the Mind Stone and was about to take out the Tesseract (Space Stone), his Beyond Senses were triggered.
Someone is watching me!
Following his senses, Russell saw a thin, small, melancholy girl wearing a red coat.
Daenerys Targaryen!
Oh, no, it's Gaya, the Skrull princess.
Seeing Russell looking at her, Jia Ya forced a slightly nervous and awkward smile.
Russell grinned and responded with a smile.
He has no prejudice against Marvel's aliens.
He discovered that Marvel's alien civilizations are actually quite similar to Earth's civilizations, just with a different skin.
Hundreds of billions of years ago, it's possible that the origins of these extraterrestrial civilizations can be traced back to Earth.
Turning his gaze away, Russell used his mental powers to quietly observe the girl.
Russell had seen many Skrulls, but he simply couldn't be bothered with them.
The Skrulls' camouflage is good on a physical level, but not good enough.
At least, it couldn't be hidden from Russell.
This was the first time Russell had encountered a Super Skrull.
He was curious about what would happen if a Super Skrull imitated him.
"He spotted me."
The young princess, new to the world, was flustered and confused.
"Did he realize that I'm not from Earth?"
"I don't think so, otherwise he wouldn't have remained indifferent?"
“No, since he was able to defeat Thanos, the master of the Dark Order, he must have seen many alien races in the universe and might not necessarily be prejudiced against the Skrulls.”
A bold and abrupt idea suddenly popped into Jia Ya's mind and quickly overwhelmed her reason.
"Why don't we just go over and strike up a conversation? As long as we shake hands when we say hello, we can gain access to his abilities and memories."
Jia Ya mustered her courage, got up, and walked towards the lounge.
In the lounge, Russell's lips twitched slightly.
He retracted his previous assessment of the Mind Stone.
Although the Mind Stone was useless to him and could not be used to enhance his combat power like Thanos.
However, when combined with his telepathic abilities, the effect is still quite good.
dong dong~
"Please come in."
Looking at the bewildered girl, Russell smiled. "Sit down. What would you like to drink? Coffee, tea, or something else?"
"Tea, thank you."
Russell gave a wicked smile as he looked at the girl who had just sat down.
Take out a large green bill and push it over.
"Could you please go to the [Maximoff Drinks Shop] next door and buy it for me?"
"I'd like a cup of grass jelly, less ice and less. You can also buy a cup of any tea you like, it's on me."
Jia Ya took the green bill somewhat blankly, got up and walked towards the door.
She only realized what was happening as she stepped out of the reading room.
"Jia Ya, don't be nervous. He didn't see through your disguise."
After silently encouraging herself, Jia Ya went to the beverage shop.
Meanwhile, the beverage shop was packed with people. Wanda and Pietro were also helping their parents serve the guests.
"Be careful, hold on tight."
Wanda looked at the adorable girl in front of her and whispered a reminder.
“Okay, thank you,” Jia Ya said, removing her hand from Wanda’s.
She simply wanted to indirectly learn about Russell through this neighbor girl.
But to her utter surprise, her talent revealed itself.
She just copied two abilities.
These are the abilities of mind charm and telekinesis.
'This girl is acting strangely.'
Watching Jia Ya walk into the reading room, Wanda looked away and stopped thinking about it.
In Russell's territory, no one can stir up any trouble.
"Mr. Russell, your herbal jelly."
"Thank you, Daenerys," Russell said politely as he accepted the herbal jelly.
“Daenerys?” Gaia sat down, puzzled. “Is this your friend, Mr. Russell? My name is Gaia, you may have mistaken me for someone else.”
"Oh, I'm sorry, Jiaya, I mistook you for someone else. Daenerys is indeed my friend."
Bertrand Russell was talking nonsense with a straight face.
Having heard of someone means you know them; meeting them means you're friends.
However, Russell and the Mother of Dragons definitely never met; they could only be considered acquaintances, not friends.
"But, Jia Ya, don't I look a lot like your friend?"
Russell said in a strange tone.
"Why do you say that, Mr. Russell?"
Jia Ya was puzzled again; she couldn't quite keep up with Russell's train of thought.
"Otherwise, why are you holding my hand so tightly?"
When Russell took the herbal jelly, Jia Ya's hand unconsciously pressed against Russell's hand.
She didn't even notice it herself.
"Excuse me, Mr. Russell."
Jia Ya let go of her hand, looking somewhat bewildered.
"Jia Ya, you're not trying to say that I look a lot like your future friend, are you?"
Faced with Russell's teasing, Jia Ya seemed stunned.
'Why is this girl so dull?'
Russell remained silent, filled with doubt.
He was really curious to see if the Super Skrull could replicate his abilities.
If possible, to what extent can it be replicated?
Jia Ya, however, was filled with doubt.
Her talent feedback showed that none of her talents were copied.
This unscientific!
"Didn't you manage to copy any of the talents?" Russell asked, somewhat disappointed.
I started writing the next chapter right after I finished this one, and only after I finished did I see the reader feedback. I've already corrected the issues raised in the feedback.
Here, I'd like to explain this to all of you who have subscribed.
This newbie absolutely doesn't mean to disgust anyone. If there are any major problems, please point them out, and I will definitely correct them in time.
