Chapter 105 The Clown Was Actually Me
Chapter 105 The Clown Was Actually Me
Chapter 105 The Clown Was Actually Me
"A...a demon hunter master!!" Mo Fan stared wide-eyed at the certificate in Lingling's hand, his face full of disbelief.
This little girl, only twelve or thirteen, is actually a Hunter Master? If it weren't for the fact that the Hunter Alliance's certificate is linked to an identity, Mo Fan would have doubted the authenticity of the certificate the little girl produced. He had been in the city's monster-hunting team in Bo City for almost two years and was still only a mid-level hunter. How could Mo Fan not be shocked that this little girl was indeed a Hunter Master?
Noticing Jiang Han struggling to suppress his laughter, Mo Fan said unhappily, "Jiang Han, what are you laughing at? Do you think you're not a newbie?"
"Ahem, I'm really not a newbie. At least I look better than your intermediate hunter." Jiang Han coughed and took out his hunter's certificate and the silver token that the city's monster hunting team had just issued from his pocket.
"Hunter Master!!!" Mo Fan was filled with regret when he saw the ID Jiang Han pulled out. Good heavens, it turned out the clown was himself. Even a newbie like him had the title of Intermediate Hunter. How could Jiang Han, who often went on missions with the Bloodfrost Demon Hunting Team in Bo City, possibly have a lower hunter level than him?
"The City Monster Hunting Team's communication token?" Lingling looked at Jiang Han in surprise, not expecting him to possess such a token. "Since you're already part of the City Monster Hunting Team, why are you applying to our Qingtian Hunting Agency?"
Jiang Han laughed and said, "The city's monster-hunting team doesn't go on missions every day. I can work part-time here, no problem. You don't necessarily refuse to hire people from the city's monster-hunting team, do you?"
"No, it's just that I find it novel for people from the city's monster-hunting team to be doing part-time work here," Lingling said casually.
Upon seeing Mo Fan, she looked at him with disgust and ran to the bar, saying, "Grandpa, I don't want this guy. Not only is he a rookie, but he also looks stupid and will easily cause trouble."
Mo Fan never expected to be looked down upon. He glanced at Jiang Han resentfully. Compared to Jiang Han, wasn't he just a newbie? The kind who was both bad and loved to play. It was truly infuriating to compare oneself to others.
"Let's go with him. Isn't that guy from the city's monster-hunting team? He can't be your partner forever. You know how hard it is for our Qingtian Hunting Station to recruit people. Finding someone who's not afraid to die is incredibly rare. I think this kid's strength isn't much weaker than that one. With proper training, he can definitely achieve great things," Old Man Bao kindly advised.
Jiang Han smiled and advised, "Mo Fan is a bit inferior to me, but his strength is still quite good."
Lingling snorted and picked up the picture book on the table, walking into the shop room with a hint of resentment.
Watching Lingling's departing figure, Old Man Bao chuckled and said, "That's just how my granddaughter is. She's a bit aloof and proud. I hope you won't mind if she offends you in any way."
"It's normal to be proud of your abilities, I understand, I understand," Jiang Han said with a smile.
Mo Fan nodded in agreement, saying, "How could I possibly argue with a little girl?"
"That's good. The client has paid a 10 deposit for this commission. The remaining 20 will be transferred after you complete the commission. Our hunting agency is different from other hunting agencies; we don't charge any common fees for commissions. After you complete this task, the reward will be split equally between Lingling and himself: 15 each, 10 for him, and the remaining 5 is yours," Old Man Bao said with a smile.
"It's almost evening, why don't you two stay for a simple meal?"
Mo Fan nodded vigorously, his mind still replaying the fact that he would receive a 5 yuan bounty. The commission was just to protect that family's child, which was far too easy for a mid-level mage like him. Even if there were any problems, Jiang Han would be there to cover for him. This was a way to make money faster than robbing someone. No wonder hunter mages were so popular.
During the meal, Old Bao asked with a smile, "I haven't asked your names yet?"
"Oh, my name is Fan Mo, and his name is Jiang Han," Mo Fan mumbled through his food.
"You guys look like college students, what makes you want to become demon hunters?" Old Bao asked again.
Mo Fan put down his chopsticks, wiped his mouth, and said righteously, "Our dean said that we can't just bury ourselves in cultivation. We have to combine it with practical combat and face danger like a hunter mage in order to become stronger."
"You only make money when it's dangerous. I bet you're just doing it for the money," Lingling said disdainfully while she was eating.
"Haha, Lingling, you're absolutely right. Fan Mo only went there because he was after money," Jiang Han said with a chuckle.
After dinner, Old Man Bao had Jiang Han and Mo Fan fill out their resumes. After they finished, Jiang Han and Mo Fan chatted with Old Man Bao for a few more minutes before leaving Qingtian Hunting Grounds.
Under the night sky, Lingling watched Jiang Han and Mo Fan's departing figures and asked in confusion, "Grandpa, I can understand why Jiang Han stayed, but why did you leave Fan Mo behind?"
"Fanmo is a promising talent; I believe he will surprise you in the future," Old Bao said with a smile.
"Grandpa, their resumes seem to say they're from Bocheng," Lingling asked.
Old Bao looked up at the bright moon in the sky and said, "Yes, Leng Qing is assisting the Tribunal in investigating Salang. If nothing unexpected happens, Salang should be the mastermind behind the disaster in Bo City. Don't tell Fan Mo and Jiang Han about this for now. They are not strong enough to get involved in that kind of thing."
"Okay, I understand," Lingling nodded in reply.
I wonder if Jiang Han will laugh out loud after hearing what Old Man Bao and Lingling said. Jiang Han knew about what they were trying so hard to hide a long time ago. He might not be able to take action against Salang, but he could still kill the blue-robed deacon and the black-robed priest.
The next day, in the evening, Jiang Han was woken up by his phone ringing. Reluctantly, he stopped cultivating and answered the phone. Lingling's melodious voice came from the other end of the line.
"Jiang Han, meet at the Masterpiece Private Garden at 7 PM tonight. Oh, and don't forget to inform that newbie Mo Fan."
Jiang Han smiled and said, "Okay, then let's meet at the Masterpiece Private Garden at seven o'clock. By the way, would you like some milk tea? Strawberry flavor."
"I'm not a child anymore, why would I drink milk tea? If I absolutely have to give you something, I want grass jelly."
"Okay, I'll call Mo Fan in a bit."
After Lingling hung up the phone, Jiang Han dialed Mo Fan's number.
As soon as the call connected, Jiang Han said lazily, "Hey, Mo Fan, are you still alive? If you are, meet me at Masterpiece Private Garden at seven o'clock tonight. We should finish the commission tonight."
"Okay, I'll take a taxi there in a bit," Mo Fan said calmly on the other end of the phone.
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Han got up, took a shower, changed his clothes, and left the room. He bought three cups of milk tea downstairs and then took a taxi to the Masterpiece Private Garden.
At the same time, Mo Fan from Mingzhu Academy hurriedly ran to the school gate, hailed a taxi, and just as he finished saying he was going to the Masterpiece Private Garden, three pretty girls walked over chatting and laughing. The taxi driver didn't want to miss this opportunity to earn more money, so he took it upon himself to let Mo Fan share a ride with the three girls.
"Master, let's go to the Masterpiece Private Garden," one of the girls said softly.
"This young man is going there too, it's on my way, hahaha," the taxi driver said with a broad smile.
P.S.: This is the second chapter. I'm out of chapters. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.
