"Th...thank you," Pochi replied softly.
"Speaking of which, I just noticed that Goto-san and Chihaya-san have very similar hairstyles," Kita said, looking at the two of them and nodding in confirmation.
“Then I’ll give Pochi a haircut to distinguish him from other boys—” Hongxia pulled out a comb from somewhere and approached Pochi.
"No...no need." Pochi mustered his courage once again to refuse.
"Don't be shy—" Hongxia said, and then very impolitely tried to use a comb to play with Boqi's bangs...
……
A moment later, Momoi Taro, who was standing outside the door, heard three loud thuds as something heavy fell to the ground.
Worried that something might have happened inside, he calmly turned around and opened the door, only to find a pool of ashes in the room, and then Aine, Nijika, and Kita all lying on the ground, pale-faced.
As if making their last words, the three of them left behind their final messages.
Hongxia said softly, "I always try to get by with being cheerful, I'm sorry." As she spoke, she stretched her fingers forward as if trying to touch her phone not far away, but in the end, her whole body slumped down limply.
"I'm sorry I still can't play the guitar well after all this time. Also, I'm so cute, I'm sorry." Kita left a dead look in his eyes and lay down on the ground.
"I'm sorry for my vanity. I'm sorry for my presumptuous confession. Also, Taro, don't inhale the dust in the air... inhaling it will..."
Aine tried her best to convey the message to Taro, but she stopped because she saw Taro take a deep breath.
What are you doing?! I was working like a student rushing to finish an exam, desperately trying to deliver information to you, and you—
"I see. I really felt it then, the regret and negativity that kept welling up from within."
Taro nodded firmly, and then, to the astonishment of the three men, he threw his head back and burst into laughter:
"Hahahaha! But this level is simply not good enough, it won't do!"
After laughing for a while, Taro stopped, took out a wooden stick with the words "Mental Injection Stick" written on it from somewhere, and said with a slightly sinister smile:
"You guys' ugly appearance inspired me to compose music and write lyrics, so you can see my 100-point exorcism skill—"
"Taro... what are you doing?" Aine looked weakly at Taro, who was approaching with a wooden stick, her face gradually turning terrified.
Then, I watched helplessly as he swung the mind-infusing rod towards my own buttocks—
"No—!"
Aine's screams echoed throughout the Goto residence, causing everyone to go upstairs in a bit of worry.
Then, we saw Momoi Taro, holding a stick, with three people lying on the ground and one missing, a scene as gruesome as a crime scene.
After Taro saw Aine lying on the ground get a whack on the butt, he opened his mouth, and a wisp of gray-black spirit floated out of Aine's mouth.
Taro swiftly struck the spirit with his stick, then, like hitting a baseball, he knocked the black spirit into what was probably the remains of Goto.
The well-informed parents of Goto naturally knew that the young man in front of them was performing an exorcism, so they did not disturb Momoi Taro too much.
So, following the same method, Momoi Taro knocked out the resentment of Pochi inside Kita and Nijika's bodies, then sent the resentment back, successfully reviving Pochi.
Boqi slowly pulled himself out of his memories and sighed softly. It was thanks to this incident that he was wearing such a plain live outfit.
After that incident, no one really cared about making live outfits anymore, and they all quickly left. They still used Nijigasaki's designed live outfits for their performances, even if they were just black T-shirts with the band's name on them. But at least they had them, right?
After this incident, Momoi Taro gained a songwriting talent, Pochi gained a friendship, and Nijika and Kita both experienced the rare thrill of being possessed by a demon. Everyone has a bright future ahead of them.
That's truly... something to celebrate, something to celebrate!
Chapter Thirty-Four: The Approaching Storm
"Poke-chan, Poke-chan..." Nijika's gentle voice rang in Goto Ichiri's ears, completely waking her from her memories.
After she regained consciousness, she saw that Hongxia had turned into a cat with cat eyes and cat hair, and said to her with a calm expression:
"I'm really sorry that my T-shirt design is just a plain black background with the band's name on it. Please forgive me."
Upon hearing Hongxia's吐槽 (tu cao, a Chinese internet slang term for sarcastic or critical remarks), Boqi jumped up in shock, staring at Hongxia in disbelief. His eyes widened in disbelief.
Did I just accidentally say it? (G doubts/intentions)
"Yeah, Pochi-chan, you just blurted out almost everything." Hongxia sighed helplessly. Pochi had unknowingly revealed most of her inner thoughts.
Kita didn't seem to care much about any of this, and appeared to be scrolling through social media, while Ryo secretly chuckled to himself.
Boqi breathed a slight sigh of relief, then sensed something was wrong and his eyes widened. But he hadn't said anything! How did Hongxia know?
"Pochi-chan, are you wondering how you knew me without telling me?" Hongxia looked at Pochi with a mischievous smile, making Pochi's expression even more terrified.
Superpowers? Pochi trembled with fear. Nobody wants to be mind-read, especially not someone like Nijigasaki with such terrifying superpowers—
"No way!" Hongxia hurriedly denied Boqi's thoughts, indicating that she was just an ordinary person and didn't have such powerful abilities. But, this was clearly mind reading!?
Pochie swears he never said those words aloud. It really is something only superpowers can read, right?!
"Nijika's superpowers are amazing," Yamada Ryo praised in a cool voice, clapping his hands.
Kita quickly moved closer and said with an admiring look, "Ryo-senpai is so cool for seeing through Nijika-senpai's superpower so easily."
Seeing Liang's smug look, Hongxia helplessly complained, "That's not right, I don't have any superpowers."
“But now I feel like I can understand what Pochi is thinking.” Hongxia smiled, looking at Pochi with sincere eyes.
Pochi felt a slight pang of emotion and was about to say something when Kita, looking at his phone, said, "It looks like a typhoon is coming?"
"Huh?" x2
Boqi and Hongxia were both a little unsettled when they heard the news. Hongxia asked Kita for confirmation, "Really? The weather forecast this morning didn't mention that."
"What about the live performance? What will happen to the live performance?" Pochi asked, focusing on the question that concerned him more. His voice was filled with panic.
After pondering for a long time, Yamada Ryo finally offered a very constructive (?) suggestion: "Should we make a teru teru bozu (a Japanese doll that brings sunshine to the sky)?"
Constructive...? Is there...?
"This is it!" Hongxia excitedly pointed at Liang and said, "The quota is ten per person!"
"Yes...yes!" Pochi, who was always shy, was indeed the first to respond.
"However, it seems that the Kanto region will not be affected," Kita added at this moment, whether intentionally or unintentionally.
"Huh? Really?" Hongxia checked to make sure, and only relaxed when she saw that Kita's expression hadn't changed. "You scared me. Thank goodness."
“Um…” Pochi whispered, but no one noticed. Kita, like a professional straight man, immediately picked up where Nijika left off.
"I'm really looking forward to the actual performance."
"Yes, yes, you're getting better and better at practicing the new piece." Hongxia nodded repeatedly and walked towards the drums. After all, practice can't stop.
Pochi mustered her courage and shouted, "Um...!" The other three turned around and looked at her with some surprise, since it was indeed very rare for Pochi to speak loudly.
Seeing everyone looking at her, Pochi quickly lowered her head to avoid their gaze, completely daring not to look them in the eye, but she said very loudly:
"Just in case, let's make a Teru Teru Bozu."
“That’s true, it’s better to be safe than sorry.” Nijika smiled and agreed, and Kita naturally agreed as well. As for Ryo… he never really offered any opinions.
My personality is too negative; I can't help but think the worst... but...
Everything will be alright...
the next day……
The typhoon did not affect the Kanto region as predicted by the weather bureau. It seems that the area was affected due to a deviation in its path.
Heavy rain and strong winds swept through the entire Shimokitazawa area. Although it wasn't as severe as the outskirts, it was still far from good weather.
As the time for the live performance approached, the members of the Dong Brothers group braved the heavy rain to arrive at Fanxing and opened the door.
As soon as she entered the door, Lenai shook her body wildly, like a kitten that had just been caught in the rain and was now in a dry place, shaking off all the water droplets from her hair.
Everyone else looked uncomfortable from being soaked, except for Momoi Taro, who maintained his usual composure.
"Thank you for your hard work." Ms. PA smiled and handed over a stack of towels. "It's really kind of you to come. It must be raining heavily."
“Yeah…” Aine took the towel and complained, “Even with an umbrella, you’ll get soaked in this heavy rain.”
"Live outfit... are you alright?" PA looked at the group curiously.
"No, we originally planned to perform in our everyday clothes," Taro said confidently, raising his head. "But when I saw how heavy the rain was, I brought out our first live performance outfits."
The live costumes of the Dong Brothers group Jiuling⑹ Si Liu Qi Ba Eba Yue = Yi have always been entrusted to Momoi Taro for safekeeping after the performance, since no one is more trustworthy than Momoi Taro.
"Truly worthy of being called a general, so reliable." Ruomai also took the towel, praising him sincerely with a smile.
“Taro has always been trustworthy,” Hailin said calmly, then turned to PA and asked:
"Where is our lounge? If possible, I'd like to put my instruments away and change my clothes first."
“Yes, it’s the first one on your right when you go this way,” PA pointed in a direction to Hai Ling, who walked straight to the place without waiting for anyone else.
"Hailin! Wait!" Aine reached out to stop Hailing, but Hailing left the hall without saying a word. Aine puffed out her cheeks and looked at Taro, saying, "I'm a little worried about Hailing. I'll go for a bit."
"Okay, bring my keytar with you too." Taro put down his instrument case and handed it to Aine.
Aine took the clothes and left the hall. Rakuna silently took the clothes and guitar case from Taro and followed closely behind Aine.
"Aren't you going?" Taro turned to look at Ruomai, who smiled and spread her hands, saying, "I'm wearing short sleeves so I'm not too wet, and as a drummer, I don't have any instruments to play."
"Is that so...?" Taro glanced around the front hall. It seemed that the owner of Fanxing was being pestered by a female drunkard, so he continued to say to PA, "It seems that there are very few audience members today."
“After all, it’s this kind of weather,” PA sighed and complained softly. “Not to mention the audience, several bands didn’t even show up.”
"Then what do we do?" Taro asked calmly, "What about the available time slots for the bands?"
"Well... we can only shorten the total performance time," PA said helplessly.
"So, where are Goto and the others? Are they in the practice room?" Taro glanced around again. The group in the corner were... members of Mygo, and they were even disguised? What were they up to?
However, Riki didn't come over, and Taro remained silent with a blank expression.
"Yes, right. Are you looking for them?" PA replied with a smile, and Taro nodded in agreement.
"They're in their practice room right now, and it's right across the street from yours," PA said with a smile, then added as if remembering something:
"It's not so much a coincidence as it was a special arrangement by Xingge. Knowing each other like this makes things easier for both of you."
"Hey, PA! What nonsense are you spouting!" Xingge, who was not far away, was a little embarrassed and angry. PA cooperated by making a zipping motion towards his lips, indicating that he would stop talking.
"I see, thank you." Taro thanked Hoshika earnestly.
