Chapter 2: Miss Hall's Praise
Chapter 2: Miss Hall's Praise
When Raphael first transmigrated, he was a little confused because his memories from before the transmigration and the knowledge he gained afterward were often disjointed.
For example, in the concepts of the knowledge he acquired, there seemed to be another level above "true God," but he couldn't remember exactly what that level was.
In real life, he also noticed some intriguing things.
For example, the diary of Emperor Roselle is written in simplified Chinese. Some of the famous quotes left by this former ruler of the Republic of Intis have a distinctly Eastern flavor.
This made Raphael seriously doubt whether there were multiple time travelers in this world.
Some even wondered if this was a survival game, with those time travelers being players who had entered the game.
Regardless of whether it was a game or not, Raphael quickly adjusted his mindset and decided that he should be promoted as soon as possible.
Because he was a low-level leader, he frequently came into contact with the lower classes of the world, and he knew how weak and miserable ordinary people were.
It's not too late to advance to Sequence 6 or even Sequence 5 first, and then look for other transmigrators.
At this moment, Raphael, who was preparing to kidnap Miss Audrey Hall on Downsend Street, appeared calm on the surface, but inwardly he was somewhat bewildered.
He had no idea which "middle-order" extraordinary individual his actions had offended, nor did he know the purpose of their conversation.
But soon, a voice inside Raphael criticized him: "If you're so hesitant, are you even a proper madman?"
Raphael slapped his thigh lightly: "Yeah, I'm crazy, why think so much? Just do it!"
So he smiled at the air and said, "Are you Ms. Susie?"
A cold female voice sounded beside me: "Yes."
Raphael continued, "What would you like for dinner?"
After a few seconds, Susie asked in a questioning voice, "Why do you ask that?"
"I suddenly remembered that I should be preparing dinner by this time of day." Raphael smacked his lips as he said this, as if he was thinking of some delicious food.
Susie paused noticeably before thinking to herself: Is this a normal thought? I've seen "madmen" before, but I've never seen one this crazy!
Just then, Miss Hall's carriage arrived, and Raphael whistled softly, signaling to his subordinate Carter.
Then, quite naturally, he jumped out of the driver's seat and walked towards the alley ahead, as if he were looking for a place to relieve his swollen lower abdomen.
Just as he passed Miss Hall's carriage, he quietly tossed out a green talisman and chanted the incantation in ancient Hermes: "Desire!"
This is a talisman he traded from a gathering of extraordinary beings; it can cause people or animals to lose their minds and then develop an extremely strong appetite.
As the talisman exploded, invisible ripples spread around it. The horses pulling the carriage neighed and ran towards a large tree in front of them. They suddenly felt very hungry and even wanted to eat the leaves on the tree.
The driver was also impatient, hoping to get there quickly to gnaw on the tree bark.
Raphael deftly opened the door of the speeding carriage and saw that Miss Audrey's personal maid, Anne, had already rummaged through the carriage's storage compartment and found the snacks that had been brought along, and was wolfing them down.
The beautiful Miss Hall, however, was not affected at all.
This noble lady has a flawless and perfect appearance, with eyes like jewels and golden hair. She still retains the pure and innocent charm of a young girl, but the allure of a mature woman is already evident.
Even Raphael, who had observed from a distance many times before, couldn't help but pause in surprise again.
Raphael then noticed that it was quite unusual that Miss Hall was not affected by the spell, and he also realized that Miss Hall was not panicked at all.
At this point, Audrey decided to let Raphael kidnap her to see what his purpose was and who he served.
Otherwise, given the difference in their status, Audrey would never have had the opportunity to observe Raphael in person.
This was, after all, a task that Mr. Fool valued, and she was a little uneasy about entrusting it to someone else to investigate.
As for the consequences of her kidnapping, Audrey was not worried; she believed her father would be able to handle the situation.
At this moment, Audrey secretly used "hypnosis" on Raphael, making him ignore the fact that he was not panicked and was not affected by the spell.
For Raphael, there was no time to worry about anything else. He gave a somewhat crazy smile and said, "Miss Hall, let's take a spontaneous trip."
Without waiting for a response, Raphael reached out and grabbed Miss Hall's arm.
Again, under Audrey's "hypnosis," she followed Raphael and jumped into the rental carriage.
But Raphael felt that he had pulled her up from her seat, then carried the noble lady in the spacious noble carriage, and jumped into the rental carriage he had prepared at the right moment.
After Raphael and Miss Hall entered the carriage, they immediately closed the door and whistled.
Carter, already seated in the driver's seat, waved the reins: "Giddy up!"
The two horses spurred and lifted their hooves, then moved forward.
Several pedestrians noticed that something seemed off about the two carriages, but no one dared to interfere.
Raphael sat opposite Miss Hall: "I knew it. Noble ladies must have some special qualities, such as not making any unnecessary struggles in this situation."
"If she were a young lady from an ordinary family, I would probably gag her with a piece of coarse cloth that I had prepared beforehand, and tell her that no one would come to save her even if she screamed until her throat was hoarse."
Miss Hall's beautiful face remained expressionless, appearing perfectly calm: "I'm curious, don't you know about the existence of official Extraordinary Individuals? How long do you think you can escape?"
"Ah, that's another special thing about this noble lady," Raphael smiled. "She knows a lot of extraordinary information."
He paused for a moment before replying, "How so? I possess extremely strong 'anti-divination' abilities; ordinary official extraordinary individuals simply cannot find me."
"Anti-divination?" Audrey frowned her beautiful brows. That seemed to be an ability that only those at Sequence 7 "Werewolves" possessed, right?
She said, "The official extraordinary beings have many sealed artifacts with magical abilities. Are you so confident they can't find you?"
"No, that's not it." Raphael grinned. "I gave my driver a large sum of money to settle his family, and I also carry all my cash with me so I can run away as soon as I sense anything is wrong."
"Of course, if the official extraordinary individuals send out demigods right away, I will surely die."
"If it really comes to that, I can only burn out all my reason and use your life as leverage to find a way to escape, although the chances are slim."
Audrey laughed and, in a very unladylike manner, described her as, "What a madman!"
Raphael bowed slightly in a gentlemanly manner: "Thank you for your praise."
Audrey was taken aback: Did I mean to praise you just now?
