Chapter 114 Conquering the Frost Giants
Chapter 114 Conquering the Frost Giants
A thousand frost giants are steadily approaching Asgard, frost spreading beneath their feet and condensing into a thick layer on the surface of the Rainbow Bridge.
Helblindi walked at the very front, holding a huge ice blade in his hand, which emanated a chilling aura.
"Asgard!" Helblindi's voice boomed through the sky: "You killed our king! You oppressed us for a thousand years! Now your king is dead, your ranks are broken, and today is the day the Frost Giants will take their revenge!"
The giants behind Helblindi roared deafeningly, and the entire Rainbow Bridge trembled.
The Holy Lord took a step forward, and the Spear of Eternity struck the ground with a crisp sound, not loud but enough to echo in the ears of every frost giant.
Helblindi's gaze fell on the Holy Lord, a hint of doubt flashing in his icy blue eyes: "Who are you?"
The Holy Lord did not answer, but simply looked at Herblindi calmly, without any emotional fluctuation in his eyes.
The Lord's voice was calm: "Who I am is not important. What is important is that I can give you a chance to lead your armies back to Jotunheim and accept Asgard's rule. In return, I can spare your lives."
Helblindi paused for a moment, then burst into a loud laugh, mocking, "Just you alone? You think you can spare our lives?"
The frost giants behind him also laughed, their laughter echoing across the Rainbow Bridge.
"I gave you a chance." The Holy Lord's voice was soft, but every word reached the ears of the Frost Giants: "It was yourselves who didn't want it."
The Holy Lord raised his hand, and a dragon talisman appeared in his palm. Dark red flames surged from his palm. These were no ordinary flames; anything touched by those flames would be erased from existence on the real world.
With a gentle clench of his hand, the dark red flames exploded on the Rainbow Bridge, the blinding light making it impossible to look directly at them. The warriors of Asgard instinctively raised their shields to shield their eyes, and the giants also raised their arms to defend themselves.
After the light faded, a huge crater appeared on the Rainbow Bridge. The edges of the crater were very smooth, as if some force had scooped a piece out of reality. Around the crater, a dozen frost giants had vanished without a trace. They were not dead, but completely gone, as if they had never existed in this universe.
Helblindy's eyes widened in disbelief, his voice trembling uncontrollably: "What...what kind of power is this?"
The Holy Lord lowered his hand, and dark red flames slowly swirled around him. He calmly said, "Now, I will give you one more chance: submit, or disappear."
Helblindi gritted his teeth; the pride of a frost giant wouldn't allow him to back down. He raised his ice blade and commanded the giants behind him, "Charge! Everyone charge! He's only one person; he can't possibly stop all of us!"
The giants roared and charged toward the Holy Lord. A thousand frost giants raced across the Rainbow Bridge, and the cold air condensed into ice crystals. The entire Rainbow Bridge trembled because of this power.
The Holy Lord calmly shook his head: "Foolish."
The Holy Lord's figure vanished from his spot and reappeared in the center of the giant army the next second. The giants were stunned; they never expected that the other party would voluntarily enter their encirclement.
The Holy Lord gave them no time to react. He raised his hand again, and countless dark red beams of light, mixed with high temperature, struck each frost giant with precision.
The giants that were hit did not fall or scream; they vanished the moment they came into contact with the beam of light, completely erased from reality.
One, ten, one hundred, two hundred.
The crimson light swept wildly through the army of frost giants, each strike taking away a portion of them. The remaining frost giants, sensing the power of the Holy Lord, finally collapsed.
The giants began to scatter and flee, but the Rainbow Bridge only had one path, and they had nowhere to escape.
The Holy Lord stood in the center of the giant army, surrounded by chaos and fear, yet his expression remained unchanged, as if he were doing something insignificant.
The Lord's majestic voice resounded in the hearts of every remaining Frost Giant: "Submit, or perish forever."
Helblindy lowered his head, his body trembling: "I...I surrender."
Helblindi's voice of submission was soft, but in the current situation it sounded unusually jarring.
The Holy Lord nodded in satisfaction: "Very good. Go back and tell your remaining masters that from today onwards, Jotunheim is part of Asgard. If there are any objections, I don't mind coming back again."
Helblindi knelt on the ground, looking at the back of the Holy Lord, his eyes filled with fear and awe.
The Rainbow Bridge was deathly silent.
The Asgardian soldiers watched all this, their spears trembling. The Holy Lord had never shown such power before, but now they were experiencing firsthand that the army of frost giants could not even last five minutes in the Holy Lord's hands.
Thor's hand holding Mjolnir was trembling. He had previously thought that if Shendu wanted to attack him, he would still have a chance to resist. Now it seemed how ridiculous his thoughts were.
As the Holy Lord stood on the Rainbow Bridge, the low hum of the Spear of Eternity grew stronger, and the light at its tip shone even brighter.
The Holy Lord stopped in front of Thor: "This is power. If you had this power, Loki would not have become the new king."
The Holy Lord glanced again at the ox talisman still embedded in the hammer handle and let out a disdainful laugh.
Wanda followed behind the Holy Lord, her eyes filled with worship and awe.
Loki caught up with Wanda, leaving only Thor and the terrified soldiers on the Rainbow Bridge.
Thor faced the ground, Mjolnir beside him. The glow of the bull rune on the handle now seemed to him like Shendu's mockery. He looked up at the sky, his eyes filled with confusion, and whispered, "Father, what should I do?"
There was no response from the sky, only the cold wind carrying the scent of the frost giants passing by.
News of the giants' submission spread like a plague throughout the Nine Realms.
Upon receiving the news, the Elves immediately sent envoys to express their willingness to submit to Asgard's rule. After three days of silence, the Dwarves also sent tribute: a golden sword forged by Eitel himself, ostensibly for Loki, but everyone knew who the golden sword was truly meant for.
Even Vanaheim, Frigga's homeland, and the races that knew the truth about Odin's death chose to remain silent, as a sign of their tacit acceptance of the new order.
The Holy Lord accomplished in a single battle what Odin had failed to do for a thousand years, making the entire Nine Realms submit to him.
Deep within the dungeons of Asgard lies a door that has never been opened. The door is unlocked and has no handle; it is only engraved with a few lines of ancient runes, the sealing runes that Odin himself set up.
Luo Ji stood in front of the door, his face filled with barely concealed excitement.
