Chapter 53: We Will Change the World
Chapter 53: We Will Change the World
"Peter, I've made up my mind."
"Decid what?"
"I've decided to change my name and stop being a member of the Osborn family!"
Upon hearing this, Peter immediately turned to look at Oz, who was tilting his head back, whistling, and blinking innocently when he saw Peter's gaze.
"What for?"
"What did you say to Harry?!"
"I didn't say anything, I just reported to him all the bad things Norman Osborn had done in his lifetime."
Oz flew onto Harry's shoulder, his wings wrapped around Harry's head, like two good buddies who hadn't seen each other for years.
"You have no idea how high this kid's awareness is; he's almost as high as you are."
Harry proudly raised his head.
"I told him about his dad stealing someone else's technology and then kicking them out, and Harry, after hearing that, waved his hand and declared that Norman Osborn wasn't his dad and that it had nothing to do with him!" Oz said.
Harry kept nodding, but then realized that what Oz said was not quite right, and shook his head.
"Wait a minute? When did I say that? Didn't I say I'd recall him to Osborne and give him the highest-ranking position?"
Oz used his wings to straighten Harry's head and said earnestly, "That's not important. What's important is that you are very perceptive and can realize how outrageous the mistakes your father made were."
"From this perspective, I believe your future achievements will definitely be extraordinary."
"Really?" Harry asked.
"Really, because I'm a raven that can only speak human language," Oz said solemnly.
The next moment, Harry looked at Peter again and said:
"Peter, I've made up my mind again!"
"What now?" Peter asked, sounding somewhat helpless.
"I've decided to become your right-hand man. I think Oz's suggestion is good. I'm going to have the corporation build a suit of armor so we can fight against the evil in New York together!"
Harry turned to Oz. "What was his name again?"
Iron Man.
"Yes, Iron Man," Harry said. "We could form a duo called Iron Spider!"
"..."
Peter felt that Oz must have given Harry some kind of spell to make him into this ridiculous state.
"It's great that you have the idea of recalling the vultures."
Peter reached into his pocket, took a cube, and handed it to Harry.
"What's this?" Harry took it and noticed that the cube had Osborn's logo on the front.
"Your father gave this to me before he passed away. He asked me to deliver it to you during a special period, but I don't think that's necessary."
Peter couldn't determine whether Harry was ready or not, and he had no idea what the definition of being ready was.
All he knew was that Harry was his good friend.
He didn't want to cause a series of unnecessary misunderstandings and troubles by handing it to Harry late.
Harry held the cube up to his eyes and squinted one eye to examine it.
"So besides leaving me a large sum of money and a financial empire, he also left me a small cube?"
"But how do you use this thing?" Harry stared at it for a long time but still couldn't figure it out.
He looked at his best friend: "Peter, do you know?"
Peter shook his head.
Besides, how would he know?!
He's not Osborne's son!
Oz, on the other hand, waved his hand confidently and declared, "I've seen the movie, I know!"
"Movie?"
"That's not important. Just go back to Oz... Oz Group with Uncle Oz."
"The Oz Group?!" Peter exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, the raven symbolizes good fortune, and I think naming it after it sounds quite nice," Harry said, turning around.
"Then why not call it the Raven Group?"
"Peter, you're being a bit too talkative."
"You damn bird, what kind of spell did you cast on Harry?!"
Harry couldn't help but smile when he saw Peter rushing forward to catch Oz.
Although his father's death was not a very heavy thing for him, he knew it clearly.
In the days that followed, he was mostly alone.
Peter has his own family, a loving aunt, a talking raven, and apparently a beautiful girlfriend.
Anyway, he always only half-believed what Oz said.
Therefore, in Harry's view, these relationships are the embodiment of happiness.
But he had nothing.
All that's left are cold, hard numbers and the Osborne Group building that everyone's eyeing.
He needs to cherish these relationships that bring him positive emotional changes.
We must cherish it.
Otherwise, you'll have nothing left.
Harry shook his head to clear his mind of his chaotic thoughts and hurriedly followed.
He had just reached Peter's side and hadn't even spoken when a shout came from behind.
"Harry!"
The two people and the bird turned around at the same time.
Peter was fine, he didn't feel anything.
Harry was annoyed; he hated being scolded in that commanding tone.
His father used to be like that.
Even now that they're dead, who would dare do that?!
"This is your father's funeral! You should be here presiding over the occasion, with the other board members, not here..."
The man glanced at Peter and said coldly, "Stay with irrelevant people."
The address made Peter frown, and even Oz on his head seemed to breathe on it.
"Who is this old guy, acting so arrogantly!"
Peter shook his head, indicating that he had never seen this guy before.
When he was researching serums at the Osborne Group, he would usually immerse himself in the laboratory and ignore the outside world.
Aside from Dr. Connors and Dr. Octavius, he knew almost no one else in the group.
Furthermore, the experimental project is somewhat secretive, and not everyone can know about it.
Harry stared at the man. "I'll give you one more chance to rephrase your words, Donald McCann."
Upon hearing Harry's words, Macken immediately began to appeal to his emotions.
"Harry..."
"Don't call me Harry, call me Mr. Osborn!"
"..."
McCann took a deep breath. "Mr. Osborne, the board needs your involvement."
"Tell them they don't need to wait." Harry snorted and beckoned Peter and the others to turn and leave.
"But..." McCann was about to say something more.
Harry turned his head again and said coldly, "Is your name on the will? Stop talking nonsense. I am the boss of the Osborn Corporation."
"..."
McCann had nothing to say and could only watch the two boys leave.
He knew who the other boy was: Peter Parker.
He once worked with Connors to develop lizard serum and is still with the group, seemingly conducting some other experiments.
He wanted to know, but after being glanced at by Norman Osborn, he dared not ask any further.
As the two boys gradually disappeared from sight, their figures gradually moved away.
McCann muttered under his breath, "Stupid kid!"
......
......
......
Osborne Group.
The CEO's office.
"Yes, right there. See that transparent table? Throw that cube on it, and you'll know what your old man left you."
Oz pointed Peter and Harry in a direction, indicating that they should go there to use the cube key.
"What if it doesn't work?" Harry asked as he walked.
"Then I'll resurrect your father and have him personally conduct experiments on you."
"Then let's forget about it."
Peter walked through the office, ignoring Oz's ramblings, his mind replaying the scene of his earlier meeting with Norman Osborn.
He had entrusted himself with delivering the little trinket to Harry at a time he deemed appropriate.
Peter wasn't sure if his actions were the right time... If they were...
"Wow!"
Harry's exclamation instantly brought him back to reality.
Peter glanced over and saw a holographic image suddenly appear on the transparent desk.
The video content contains a wide variety of filenames.
This made him instinctively take a few steps back.
"Oz, we need to give Harry some private space."
"Hey Peter, come over here!" Harry waved to him.
Peter refused: "This was left to you by your father... I have no reason to..."
Please.
Harry stepped forward, grabbed Peter's arm, and stopped him from backing away any further.
Harry said, "Peter, I have a completely new life now, a life that is all my own."
"Together, we can definitely change the world!"
"Harry..." Peter hesitated.
"Stop talking nonsense, the boss is ordering you!"
Harry tugged at Peter's arm and pulled him over.
Pure friendship shouldn't involve so much scheming and backstabbing.
Peter was his best friend, and he firmly believed that he was Peter's best friend.
Now I've embarked on a completely new life.
He wants the world to know who he is.
Let the world know Harry Osborn.
"Move your ass, Oz!"
"You change your tune pretty quickly, kid!"
"..."
A dozen minutes later, I watched all the technological products Norman left behind that were capable of revolutionizing society.
Harry lifted his slightly sore neck and muttered to himself, "I've made up my mind..."
Peter looked confused: "What are you going to decide now?"
"I've decided not to abandon the Osborne name."
"How dare you!"
Oz roared and launched a flying kick at Harry!
