Chapter 47 Just tell me if it's a plan or not.
"Alright, gentlemen, our plan is very simple and only requires two steps."
After the three reached a preliminary consensus, Tony finally began to explain his plan: "First, find the energy-devouring worm on the cruise ship. Second, kill it."
"It's very simple, everyone understands, right?... As for why we absolutely have to kill this bug, the answer is simple—"
"As long as the energy-devouring worm is alive, it will devour all the energy it can collect in its surroundings during its non-dormant period, and after devouring a large amount of energy, it will enter a special reproductive period."
"During the breeding season, the energy-devouring insects will produce more energy-devouring insects, and these insect larvae can devour energy in the same way ten minutes after hatching, and grow into adults at a rate of abnormal development, and then repeat the above process continuously."
"That's why I say that energy-devouring worms are extremely dangerous. If their reproduction isn't controlled in time, they can devour the energy of a star, causing an entire galaxy to perish."
Tony rarely showed a serious expression when he was talking about the dangers of the energy-devouring worms.
Jaeger, however, raised his hand like a student asking a question to the professor: "I completely understand what you mean, Mr. Stark—but the question is, how do we find the energy-devouring worm, and how do we kill it? Does this worm have any weaknesses?"
"Excellent question, you get 20 points." Tony held up one finger. "First, it's about how to find the energy-devouring worms."
"Because energy-devouring worms survive by consuming energy, they always have very special energy residue on their bodies, which allows them to be located by specialized detection equipment," Tony explained. "Unfortunately, the most advanced detection equipment is in my world."
"But don't worry, I can make a simplified version of the detection device with similar functions in half an hour." Tony waved his hand. "No need to praise me, I know I'm a genius."
Jaeger: "...?"
Who praised you?
He looked at Clark beside him questioningly, and Clark returned a strange look that said, "You know what I'm about to say."
"Listen to the lecture, and stop flirting!"
Tony suddenly slapped the armrest of the sofa, glaring at Jaeger and his companion who instantly looked away.
"Be serious, you two. Otherwise, when the energy-devouring worms wake up, we'll really have to put on a Titanic show! — And I have to make it clear beforehand, I'm not going to have any of those 'you jump, I jump' sentimental conversations with you. I really will just fly away in my armor."
"So..." Jaeger couldn't help but ask, "What exactly is this battle armor you've been talking about? Is it related to the weakness of the energy-devouring worms?"
"Of course—" Tony drawled, "well, actually it doesn't really matter."
"But I still have to solemnly introduce to you..." He stood up, his tone proud, and pointed to his chest, "This!"
Clark watched Tony intently from the moment he stood up, and couldn't help but ask, "What are you introducing, your ribs?"
"Who told you to look at that!" Tony choked for a moment. "Did you donate your eyes to City College? I was clearly referring to this thing!"
With that sound, he placed his fingers on the glowing circle on his chest that Jaeger had previously described as possibly some kind of eerie trend, and tapped it twice.
Almost instantly, the circle of fluorescent blue flashed twice, and the fine, silvery-white metallic flow, like a surging tide, spread rapidly from the metal device protruding from Tony's chest towards his entire body.
Moreover, it is not entirely a silvery-white metallic flow.
The striking red and gold colors, along with the silver-white and gray-black metallic hues, are rapidly assembled as they extend.
Almost in the blink of an eye, the metal that covered Tony's head and below formed a set of close-fitting gold and red metal armor.
As for the head, the metal is flexibly divided into upper and lower parts to form a frame that leaves space for the face, while the rest of the metal is transformed into a steel mask from top to bottom, which fits perfectly into the frame the moment it falls.
The moment the suit was assembled, the eyes of the armor suddenly lit up with the same fluorescent blue light as the chest, like the finishing touch in a painting, and the entire suit instantly "came to life".
Tony Stark's voice, amplified by his steel mask, took on a metallic quality: "This is what I wanted you to see—what do you two think?"
"This..." Clark praised honestly, "That's so cool, Mr. Stark."
"I know," Tony said, pleased, but he quickly looked at Jaeger with displeasure, "but you don't seem to be reacting much."
"No, no, no, that's not quite it..." Jaeger jolted and quickly waved his hand. "I just suddenly thought of something. But believe me, I also think your suit is super cool."
He just suddenly thought of the Batmobile because they were both high-tech gadgets, and then inexplicably got caught up in the bizarre dilemma of which was cooler, the suit or the Batmobile...
"Don't get distracted while admiring the fruits of technology and industrial civilization; it'll hinder your further understanding of my genius," Tony said patting Jaeger on the shoulder. "But I'm in a good mood, so I forgive you."
"...Let's get down to business." Jaeger coughed. "So, you're wearing this suit...you're a superhero in your world?"
"Some people call me Iron Man, and I think that's a pretty good title." Tony, still wearing his armor, could still shrug. "Okay, back to the energy-devouring worms—in fact, once we get to the first step, the second step of eliminating the worms can be handed over to me."
"I'll let that bug know..." Tony opened his hand and then suddenly clenched it, making a clanging metallic sound, "What it means to be a fully cooked, roasted energy-devouring bug."
