Chapter 165 Listening to the Chapter
Chapter 165 Listening to the Chapter
Unbeknownst to him, Uchiha Ye had been rooted in Root for half a year, and apart from occasionally going out to take the blame, he had never left the Root base.
During this period, Mo carried out many missions without a single failure, and all of them were completed independently. This made her reputation within the Anbu seem to be surpassing Kakashi's.
As usual, Uchiha Yo was preparing to teach a group of children training.
"Lord Danzo, the Third Hokage requests your presence in his office, saying he has important matters to discuss."
Upon hearing her subordinate report for duty, her brows furrowed instantly. "That Hiruzen Sarutobi is such a nuisance. I'm going to have to make her take the blame again."
Uchiha Ye straightened his clothes to make sure he wouldn't give himself away before heading towards the Hokage's office.
Upon arrival, they saw Itachi Uchiha and Kakashi guarding the entrance.
This was also the first time she had seen him since joining the Roots.
"Itachi looks thinner?"
Pah, pah, pah... What does it matter to her whether he's thin or not? 'Scumbag'.
Itachi felt a sense of familiarity with Danzo Shimura as he looked at him. His dark eyes turned bloodshot as he tried to see something. Just as he met Danzo's eyes, Uchiha Ye was unusually calm. He ignored the gaze and walked straight past them into his office.
As soon as she entered the office, a voice rang out, "Danzo, you're here!"
Uchiha Ye tapped the floor with his cane and asked sternly, "What do you want with me?"
Hiruzen Sarutobi took a deep drag on his pipe before speaking, "Actually, it's nothing much, it's just that the Anbu is short-staffed lately, and we'd like to transfer someone from your unit."
She was silent for a moment, then looked sharply at Hiruzen Sarutobi and said, "Okay, but only 'Ink'!"
Upon hearing this, Hiruzen Sarutobi paused in his hand holding the pipe, and after a long while, he spoke again, "Then let's borrow it for a while. Recently, Kumogakure has been harassing the border frequently, seemingly trying to provoke a war intentionally or unintentionally. You probably don't want such a thing to happen."
"Understood," Uchiha Ye replied calmly, then left.
She arrived at Mo's room and saw him with a cold expression, painting an extremely explicit masterpiece that was absolutely shocking.
"Mo, well... we're not short of money right now, so we don't need to rely on this to make money."
Without even lifting his eyelids, Mo said, "One should finish what one starts."
"Do you have another mission for me to carry out?"
Uchiha Ye spoke in a consultative tone, "I'll temporarily transfer you to the Hokage's direct Anbu under the command of Hiruzen Sarutobi for a while. If you don't want to go, that's fine too. Just manage Root well."
Mo hates management stuff the most, so he readily agreed to go for a while.
She tidied up the things on her desk, and in no time she appeared in the Hokage's office, without even going through the door.
Mo exuded an aura that kept strangers at bay, and with his gaze fixed on Hiruzen Sarutobi, he uttered two words: "Mission!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi never expected Danzo to have transformed Uchiha Yoru into this way, as if he were born for missions.
If Uchiha Ye knew that Hiruzen Sarutobi was thinking this way, she would definitely cry foul, saying that this was clearly Mo's own personality and had nothing to do with her.
Hiruzen Sarutobi took a deep breath before slowly speaking, "You should first get to know your companions who will be carrying out the mission with you."
"Companions? I don't need them!" Mo asked doubtfully, then rejected the suggestion. Companions would only hold her back.
"That's an order!"
As expected, Mo accepted the suggestion after hearing this.
"Kakashi, come in here for a moment," Hiruzen Sarutobi called out to the door.
Soon, Kakashi, wearing a cat-face mask, walked in. "Third Hokage!"
"Kakashi, from now on, 'Mo' will be a member of your Anbu Squad 6 for the time being. Take her around and familiarize her with the place," Hiruzen Sarutobi instructed.
Kakashi then looked at Mo, who was standing there with a cold aura emanating from him, dressed in black. "Come with me!"
He hadn't expected that Uchiha Ye would change so much in just six months. Although he had a vague suspicion that Mo was her, he still felt an indescribable anger welling up inside him. "Danzo, what exactly did you do to her?"
After leaving the Hokage's office, Mo ignored Itachi Uchiha, who was sitting across the hall, and walked straight past him.
To her, Itachi Uchiha was a complete stranger.
The sense of familiarity Itachi felt with Mo was not as strong as it had felt with Danzo Shimura earlier. He had a vague guess in his mind that Mo might be a clone of Ye, and Danzo... But facing such a cold and ruthless face, with eyes devoid of any emotion, his heart still ached terribly.
What exactly happened during that time, and why did he and Ye end up like this?
As she left the building, Mo remembered that she was now under Kakashi's command, so she stopped and waited for him to walk with her, since she didn't know where to go next.
Kakashi brought Mo to the training ground where the Anbu Squad 6 often practiced. When they arrived, the Anbu members who were sparring stopped.
Mo turned to look at Kakashi, asking in a seemingly cold tone, "Want to show off your skills?"
"Okay!" Kakashi nodded, recalling Itachi's arrival.
Even if he felt it was unnecessary, his men would force her to take action.
Mo received the order to step out of the crowd, instantly drawing his long sword from his waist. A cold glint flashed, and a deep trench appeared before everyone, with the surrounding trees snapping in two.
With a clang, Mo sheathed his long sword and walked to Kakashi's side.
"It truly lives up to its reputation!" someone couldn't help but exclaim.
Mo didn't seem to care much about the praise he received.
Kakashi gained a new understanding of her strength, but one thing was strange: why had her short sword been replaced with a long sword?
The next day, Kakashi and Mo began their first mission together. It wasn't really a collaboration; Mo was simply following orders.
"This is the content of this mission!" Kakashi handed over a scroll.
Mo took the scroll and began to read it. "Go to the border to investigate the movements of the Hidden Cloud Village?"
Just then, she had passed by that place once during a mission and left a mark. Mo put away the scroll, grabbed Kakashi's wrist, and used the Flying Thunder God Technique to arrive at the border area that Cloud Village often harassed.
"We've arrived. Let's begin the reconnaissance. We'll meet here in three hours." Mo left these words behind, turning and departing, leaving Kakashi alone, bewildered in the wind. "She just used the 'Flying Thunder God Technique'?"
It seems even the Third Hokage was unaware of this situation. No wonder she was so fast at carrying out missions; Kakashi knew she could also use the 'Rasengan'.
Will he become someone who surpasses Minato-sensei?
"No, it seems she has already surpassed that. She's only 11 years old now. Minato-sensei wasn't this good at that age."
Mo was unaware of his inner turmoil; she simply wanted to finish her task as soon as possible and return to paint that masterpiece.
