Chapter 209 Extra: Seeking Cooperation
Chapter 209 Extra: Seeking Cooperation
Mr. Emeric, who had been kicked out of the bedroom, was furious. Now that he had a group of people to vent their anger on, he felt he should make some money.
After grabbing a pile of documents, he was going to visit Lucius for a chat. They could all make money together, and he could also catch a glimpse of Harry and Draco's antics—a win-win-win situation.
Malfoy Estate
"Emerick? What brings you here?" Lucius instinctively assumed he was here to play with Draco. "Dragon and Harry are in the greenhouse. I asked the house-elf to call them over."
"Wait a moment, I have a collaboration idea, I wonder if Mr. Malfoy would be interested?" Emeric took out the proposal he had prepared earlier and placed it in front of Lucius. If you want to get a share of the pie, you have to show some sincerity.
Lucius immediately understood his purpose, abandoning his condescending attitude towards a junior and treating Emeric with the demeanor of someone discussing cooperation, slowly reviewing the entire proposal. Then, he looked up at the person opposite him, "Not bad, but why should I cooperate with you? The Malfoy family has the capability to absorb them."
"However, cooperating with Thaddeus and Aldrickson will allow us to achieve our goals more quickly and reduce unnecessary losses. Of course, most importantly, having allies will prevent the British Ministry of Magic from focusing all its attention on Malfoy."
"Even if I need allies, I can choose not to choose you." Lucius did not answer him directly, but instead let Emeric explain his advantages.
"No one else would dare offend so many families, nor do they have such a large financial chain, and I only need 20%."
"Alright, you've convinced me." Lucius was swayed by the last sentence; who could refuse a cheap laborer?
In reality, that wasn't what Emeric wanted. He needed to quickly establish a deterrent effect to prevent any fools from daring to challenge Severus. The extra money he earned could be considered a publicity expense; cooperating with Lucius was far less effort than destroying a family himself.
"Uncle Lucius, I'm going to find Draco and Harry to play. You go ahead with your business." With the important matter settled, Emeric reverted to his adorable junior, ready to watch the two kids have their fun. "Could the elf take me? I don't really want to spoil their fun."
"Of course." Lucius waved his hand, he was in a particularly good mood. As long as they didn't tear down Malfoy Manor, they could do whatever they wanted.
Emeric followed the elf to the greenhouse. He stood at the door, ready to peek at the two inside. He hadn't seen them for a month and was particularly curious about the progress of their relationship.
The two people in the greenhouse were digging in the soil; they wanted to plant some flowers on their balcony. They had recently visited the Muggle world and seen Muggles growing things on their balconies, which they found very interesting, so they decided to try it themselves. Today, they finally had some free time, and they ran to the greenhouse as soon as they got up.
Seeing the two of them squatting there without interacting at all, Emeric, finding it boring, decided to break the silence. "Gentlemen, are you playing in the mud?"
"Brother Eli, what brings you here?" Draco turned to look at the door, his face filled with surprise, just like when he was a child.
"Hey, come see you two, you two ungrateful little devils. It's been so long since I've seen you and you haven't come to see me at all." Emeric said, dumping the blame on them, completely forgetting that Draco and Harry had to go to work.
Harry put down what he was holding, sighed, and explained, "I have to go to work almost every day, and Little Dragon is with Uncle Lucius every day. We didn't do it on purpose."
"Alright, I forgive you." Emeric, purely out of boredom and not really intending to cause trouble, took out the gifts he had brought and placed them in front of them. "Open them and see."
Harry was given a set of capture tools that were more effective than those provided by the Ministry of Magic, ensuring that the prisoner could not escape to the greatest extent possible. There were also some protective gear nearby, showing that Emeric had been preparing for a long time.
Draco received several automatic quills, made of peacock feathers, which perfectly suited the Malfoy family's aesthetic and looked particularly luxurious.
"Thank you!" The two gifts from X2 were exactly what they wanted, fulfilling their immediate needs.
"Don't rush, there are more~" Emeric took out two more gift boxes. The previous gift was to celebrate their first month at work, and this one was a souvenir that he and Severus brought back.
The gifts they receive are different each time; this time it's a painting made of pretty little stones, perfect for their bedroom.
"Then I'll head back now. Lyra and Garian are still waiting for me." Emerich felt his time hadn't been wasted seeing that they liked it.
--------
"Our young master has finally decided to come back?"
"Hopefully someone still remembers that he has two subordinates and a ton of work."
As soon as he entered, Garian and Lyra's resentment hit him. Emeric felt guilty and touched his nose. He quickly took out the gifts he had prepared for them, since he had gone out to play for more than half a month without telling them.
"I'm back now, these are gifts for you."
Lyra and Garian exchanged a glance, then slowly opened the package, preparing to see what Emeric had sent before deciding on their next course of action.
"What's this?" Galian took out a floor plan. It showed a small manor he had never seen before. Judging from the address, it wasn't far from here. Below it was a transfer contract.
Lyra's gift was quite simple: a set of sapphire jewelry. Judging from the design, it was probably made by Emeric himself, and its value was no less than that of Galian's manor.
Their attitudes instantly improved; the resentment on their faces turned into smiles, as if they wished they could work for another hundred or two hundred years.
Garian stood up and pushed a chair next to Emeric, inviting him to sit down and see their work. Lyra went even further, offering Emeric a teacup as if he were disabled.
"Stop, stop, stop!" Emeric quickly ran to the side, suddenly finding the two men's resentful expressions more pleasing to the eye, even a little frightening now. "You two, behave yourselves, or I won't give you gifts next time."
Lyra instantly dropped her sycophantic act and gave Garian a kick. "No problem, this is the intelligence we've gathered recently. Take a look."
"Also, Mr. Malfoy has been dealing with these families lately. Here is their information. Should we continue investigating?" Garian took out a folder and placed it in front of Emeric. It was their habit to be prepared.
“We’ll get involved too, and split the profits 20/80 with Lucius, we’ll get 20,” Emeric continued, seeing the doubt in their eyes. “I don’t want anyone going around saying bad things to Severus, and making too much money at once makes us a target.”
"Things haven't been peaceful in Germany these past few days, so we'd better behave ourselves," Emeric said with a smile, but Leila and Galian both knew that he was behind the "unrest."
