Chapter 1673 Their Choice!
Chapter 1673 Their Choice!
Jonathan slowly reached forward and accepted the Chaos Fruit from Max's hand.
The moment the fruit entered his grasp, he immediately felt an astonishing wave of energy flowing from within it. Chaotic flame energy continuously circulated across the surface of the fruit while faint crimson-golden patterns flickered like living flames.
Even so—
A trace of hesitation still appeared within Jonathan's eyes.
He lowered his gaze toward the Chaos Fruit while countless thoughts surfaced within his mind.
What Max had just described sounded far too unbelievable.
A treasure capable of granting someone a Divine Body?
Such a thing should not even exist.
Within the Divine Realm, Divine Bodies were regarded as heaven-defying physiques possessed only by monstrous geniuses blessed by fate itself. Some inherited them through bloodlines while others awakened them through miraculous opportunities beyond imagination.
But a fruit capable of directly granting a Divine Body?
Jonathan had never once heard of such a thing before.
And with his status and background, his knowledge far surpassed that of ordinary geniuses.
If treasures like this truly existed openly within the Divine Realm, there was no way he would not have heard at least rumors regarding them before.
Yet—
He could not recall a single thing related to fruits capable of creating Divine Bodies.
That alone caused deep uncertainty to rise within his heart.
Jonathan's expression gradually became more conflicted afterward.
Because Julie's condition was already extremely dangerous.
The Ten Thousand Poison Body was not something that could be treated carelessly. One wrong decision could completely destabilize the poison inside her body and worsen her condition even further.
And that was exactly what Jonathan feared most.
He did not want to gamble recklessly with Julie's life using something he did not fully understand.
Even if Max had sounded confident earlier, Jonathan still found it difficult to completely trust such an unbelievable treasure immediately.
Meanwhile, Julie quietly observed Jonathan from the side.
She could naturally understand what he was worried about.
After all, even she herself found Max's explanation difficult to believe completely.
The pavilion gradually became silent once again as Jonathan continued staring at the Chaos Fruit within his hand, clearly hesitating over whether he should truly let Julie consume it or not.
Max quietly observed the hesitation and uncertainty on Jonathan and Julie's faces and immediately understood what they were worried about.
After all, everything he had just told them sounded far too unbelievable.
A fruit capable of awakening a Divine Body was something that would shake the entire Divine Realm if news of it spread. It was only natural for them to hesitate before trusting something they had never even heard about before.
However, Max did not attempt to persuade them further.
Instead, he simply spoke calmly.
"I already gave you a path," Max said while looking at the two of them. "Now the choice is yours whether you want to walk that path or not."
Neither Jonathan nor Julie responded immediately.
The atmosphere inside the pavilion remained heavy as Jonathan continued holding the Chaos Fruit silently in his hand.
Seeing this, Max slowly turned around.
Then, before leaving, he spoke once more.
"The banquet will be held tomorrow," Max said calmly. "I can wait until then."
His voice remained steady and unhurried.
"I hope that by the time we meet again, the two of you will have already made your decision."
With those final words, Max no longer stayed inside the pavilion.
He calmly walked away while the faint moonlight reflected softly across the spirit lake behind him.
Meanwhile, Jonathan and Julie remained standing silently within the pavilion, both lost deeply within their own thoughts while staring at the Chaos Fruit in Jonathan's hand.
As for Max, he soon left the quiet area entirely and headed back toward the mansion assigned to the Black Dragon Clan.
On the way back toward the Black Dragon Clan's mansion, Max continued thinking about Jonathan and Julie's situation.
The more he thought about it, the more tragic their circumstances seemed.
One carried a cursed physique that slowly poisoned her from the inside while the other desperately searched everywhere for even the slightest chance to save her.
In truth, neither of them had many options left anymore.
Max quietly let out a faint sigh.
"I just hope they make the right choice," he muttered softly.
As an outsider, there was only so much he could do for them. In the end, whether they trusted him or not would ultimately depend entirely upon their own decision.
Soon afterward, Max finally arrived back at the mansion assigned to the Black Dragon Clan.
However, the moment he entered the courtyard, two familiar figures immediately appeared before him.
Lucia crossed her arms while narrowing her eyes suspiciously at him.
"Where exactly did you go?" she asked directly.
Beside her, Isabella also looked toward Max curiously.
Seeing their expressions, Max merely smiled faintly.
"That," he replied casually, "is a secret."
Then he looked at Lucia helplessly before adding, "Besides, you already saw me leaving together with Jonathan earlier, so why bother asking me now?"
Lucia immediately rolled her eyes after hearing that answer.
Clearly, she was not satisfied with his response at all.
However, before either of them could continue questioning him, Max calmly spoke again.
"Anyway," he said, "please inform Master that I will not be attending tomorrow's banquet."
Both Isabella and Lucia looked slightly surprised after hearing that.
"I will be busy training," Max added calmly.
After saying that, Max no longer stayed outside.
He directly walked past the two of them and headed toward his room inside the mansion.
Soon, after entering his room, Max immediately noticed a storage ring placed neatly on the table nearby.
A faint smile instantly appeared across his face.
Clearly, these were the rewards distributed after the Smelting Trial ended.
Without wasting time, Max picked up the storage ring and inspected its contents.
The moment his consciousness entered the ring, his eyes brightened immediately.
Inside were enormous amounts of cultivation resources, rare treasures, divine crystals, and numerous valuable materials obtained both from the Smelting Trial rewards and the treasures he personally recorded inside the Tower of Treasure.
Seeing such a massive collection of resources gathered together, even Max could not help revealing a satisfied smile.
"Nice," Max muttered softly.
"With this much treasure, I should finally be able to enter the peak of the Law Awakening Realm."
At the same time, anticipation gradually appeared within his eyes.
"And after that…"
A faint draconic aura unconsciously flickered around his body.
"I can finally open the fourth Divine Vein of the Seven Divine Veins."
"The Vein of Speed."
