Chapter 325 - 324-
Chapter 325 - 324-
This was the trimmed down summarization of the events that had taken place soon after the God descended in the red world. After meeting with Caster, they fled for several long hours before the ship gradually came to a stop.
On the deck lay the tired gang of Grey, Violet and Roxanne. They had long recovered from their earlier fatigue. However, the corrosive substance was proving much harder to expell than they had thought.
Especially the captain- violet. Grey had the shadow, while Roxanne was a natural mythical creature that in her rightful state could even be called a divine entity.
With they different peculiarities, they were able to expell most of the Corrosive substance from their bodies in a very short amount of time.
The only ones that remained in theie blues had seeped too deep into their bones and blood. They could not be removed easily and only the gradual circulation of spirit energy could sense them.
And so, Grey and Roxanne’s pale and frightening expressions slowly returned to normal. However, some parts of their skin still had patches of dead, rotten flesh and decay.
However, it was healing at a snail’s pace. It was only Violet that was still suffering from the endless decay and rot. Even though they had long left the red world, Grey couldn’t help but feel some fear when he looked at the captain’s condition again and again.
Despite swallowing many medicinal pills and incredibly valuable stuff, her condition barely improved. In fact, it even seemed to worsen. Although Grey was not sure, he made a guess that the god gbag the captain had summoned placed a ’small curse’ on her to die by the corrosive substance.
The reason why he called it a small curse was because a god didn’t really need to curse you to kill you. Just taking in it’s real form or being looked at directly by it was enough to kill you.
If fhe god so wanted, then it could kill you with just a thought. So ghe fact the captain was still alive meant that one thing... the god had allowed her to live.
But even if it did, it made sure that she suffered a lot from disturbing the great being and forcefully calling it while pretending to be from it’s race.
This lead Grey to another thought... why would a god allow her to live. Despite the things that she had done.
He could only guess that the captain knew why. But another impossible thought arose in his head. Maybe Violet and the god were not hostile to each other. Maybe they both had a goal that they came here to achive.
And due to that, the god allowed itself to be used. And so did Violet.
’If that’s so, then it means there’s more at play here than I thought.’ Grey said inwardly after pondering.
The idea of the captain colliding with a god did not sound great to him. But considering that they got what they came here for, he could only hold back his curiosity.
After talking to them and asking some questions about their mission, Violet and Caster left to go back to the Forbidden archipelago.
There he wanted to find a way to cure the captain abs relive her from her pain and suffering. But before they left, Violet gave Grey the inner reality that she had stolen from the red world. Which was also... one of the suns in the sky.
Several hours later, Grey watched as Caster’s majestic ghost ship swayed and sailed away into the deep and misty black waters of the dead sea.
The captain promised that she would be back in three months at most. By then, she said that there would be a surprise for him.
---
Right now, Grey held a small purple orb in his hands as he stared at it with a somewhat indifferent expression. He was still sitting down cross-legged on the deck of his own magic ship with his long hair floating behind him due to the wind.
Before leaving, Violet placed a lot of seals on the purple orb to prevent its aura from leaking and attracting unknown existences. Caster also added some extra layer of seals and even gave Grey some sealing methods to fortitude the seals and to make it even stronger if need be.
Only because of that reason could Grey bring it out into the open without any fear. Because of the countless layers of protection and sealing, it’s aura would not spread at all.
But Grey had to return it back into his storage ring after a few hours in case some of it’s aura seeped out and spread into the surroundings. Even a little bit might attract certain existences with malicious intentions.
Ignoring the fact that they had encountered Caster at such a critical moment during their escape, Grey was still deeply shocked by his sudden appearance. Even more surprising was the way Caster looked at Violet — it was obvious from his expression alone that the two of them knew each other quite well.
Grey had not spoken to the man much, but every time Caster glanced in his direction, he would nod faintly with clear approval in his eyes. After all, Grey had managed to unlock two Spirit Fires within an incredibly short period of time.
Even within the sect, there were only a handful of disciples capable of such terrifying speed.
At the very least, none of those Grey had heard of possessed an aperture-breaking speed comparable to his own.
And if anyone discovered that the number of Spirit Fires he possessed was actually three instead of two, Grey could not even begin to imagine the kind of reaction it would cause.
Shock.
Disbelief.
Fear.
Greed.
He was certain it would draw far more danger and unwanted attention than benefits. Thus, Grey had chosen to hide the existence of the third Spirit Fire from everyone.
With calm eyes filled with tranquility, Grey stood silently on the deck while the cold sea breeze swept across the ship, carrying with it the putrid scent of the dark ocean below.
His gaze rested upon the small purple orb in his palm.
At first glance, there seemed to be nothing extraordinary about it.
At least... not on the surface.
However, Grey clearly remembered the strange expression on the captain’s face when she handed the orb over to him. Her complexion had been slightly pale, while disappointment and dissatisfaction lingered in her eyes.
It was as though the object had completely failed to meet her expectations.
"I wonder what went wrong," Grey thought inwardly. "Did the power within it fail to live up to her hopes? Or perhaps the amount of power that can actually be used is extremely limited?"
Grey did not know the answer.
But his curiosity only deepened.
Thus, after extending his Divine Sense across a thousand-foot radius and carefully ensuring that no one was observing him, Grey covered the entire ship with a thin layer of spirituality to isolate all fluctuations.
Only then did he slowly begin undoing the seals on the purple orb in the same careful manner that Violet and Caster had previously described.
Minutes passed in silence.
Then suddenly—
Crack.
Tiny fractures spread across the orb’s surface.
Soon after, the entire purple sphere collapsed into countless fragments that floated gently in the air like shattered crystal dust. Yet despite its destruction, the purple radiance did not fade away.
Instead, the light condensed together and revealed something hidden within it.
An object.
Or perhaps it was more accurate to say that this mysterious object had always been the true source of the purple orb itself.
The glowing shell had merely concealed its existence.
However, whether due to Grey’s low cultivation level or some mysterious suppressive force, he found himself unable to clearly perceive the object’s true form.
It was blurry.
Distorted.
Almost as though an invisible veil stood between him and the object itself.
A strange censoring force prevented its image from being fully reflected inside Grey’s mind.
And instinctively, Grey chose not to forcefully break through that veil.
The moment he considered trying, a faint but terrifying sensation of danger surged through his body, causing every nerve within him to tighten in warning.
Nonetheless, Grey’s eyes narrowed with determination.
"No matter what," he muttered softly, "I have to see it for myself..."
"What exactly does the Reality of a Soul Ascendancy expert look like?"
The moment those words left his mouth, Grey slowly injected his Spirit Energy into the purple radiance.
Immediately, a powerful repulsive force erupted from within the light.
It rejected him.
The force pushed violently against Grey’s Spirit Energy, refusing to allow any foreign intrusion into its domain.
However, Grey merely remained calm.
After all, the purple light was still sealed.
Not only that, it had already been separated from the crimson world from which it had originally been stolen.
Most importantly—
The master of that Reality was already dead.
Without hesitation, Grey continued pressing forward, steadily forcing his Spirit Energy deeper into the purple radiance.
Gradually, the resistance weakened.
The purple light trembled violently before finally beginning to submit beneath Grey’s persistence.
And the instant it did—
Grey suddenly felt as though his entire consciousness had been swallowed by an endless sea of purple.
Boundless.
Ancient.
Unfathomable.
The ordinary darkness within Grey’s pupils instantly vanished, replaced by a terrifying violet glow that illuminated his surroundings.
Yet this purple intent did not belong to Grey himself.
It came from the mysterious object hidden within the light.
A power far beyond his current understanding.
Grey sucked in a deep breath as his heart trembled violently.
"This is..."
