Chapter 818. Massacre 2
Chapter 818. Massacre 2
The moment Kailen spoke, several individuals covertly lurking in the vicinity revealed themselves.
They all appeared from different directions.
Some of them stared at each other, stunned. It was clear they were not aware of each other’s arrival here. Had Kailen Darkhaven not identified them, each of them would have hid in the shadows.
Across the Meridian Belt, this place was one of the safest places. Each of them thought they had lucked out by arriving here. Several of their comrades had died due to the attacks of either chaotic beasts, mysterious storms in the Meridian Belt, or attacks from other Transcendents.
Seeing this place didn’t have any storms, roaming chaotic beasts, or participants laying in wait to kill them, made each one of them excited to have found this place. They could just lay low till the competition ended.
However, none of them expected that others would have found this place as well, lurking in the shadows.
As for Kailen Darkhaven, everyone looked at him with wary expressions.
They stared at the floating corpse of Chandler Valeria and the corpses of the chaotic beasts he had killed.
He was not weak. They had been wrong about his strength, extremely wrong. They had underestimated him.
At this moment, everyone watching the stream across every empire had shifted their focus to Kailen’s part of the stream.
The people who had appeared in his vicinity included seven people on the Imperial Rankings of the Andromis Imperium Empire Academy.
The second ranked on the Oceanic rankings, Isolde was also here, alongside seven others on the Oceanic rankings.
The first ranked on the Dominion rankings of the Solaris Dominion Empire, Ragna, was also here, alongside six others on the Dominion rankings.
As for those on the Heavenly Fate rankings of the Venzula Empire, they moved towards Kailen Darkhaven with their hands raised in surrender, claiming they didn’t mean any harm.
There were four of them: the third ranked, the fourth ranked, the fifth ranked, the sixth ranked.
The audience watching the stream knew that the others on the Heavenly Fate rankings had died in the Meridian Belt.
There were also six people on the Altair Zenith rankings of the Altair Empire Academy here.
As those from the Heavenly Fate rankings approached Kailen Darkhaven, he used Emotional resonance to study them.
"They don’t have any intention of attacking. Also, in addition to myself, there are five of us. If I can’t take on all these fellows by myself, they could be helpful. Plus, they are from the academic faction. They will be needed in the upcoming war. Since they don’t have any desire to attack me, it won’t be necessary to get rid of them," Kailen thought.
He nodded towards them warmly.
They let out sighs of relief and stood around him.
"Mr. Darkhaven..." The third ranked, a female dwarf, nodded towards him.
The others on the Heavenly Fate rankings also did the same.
Kailen looked at Isolde, Ragna, and the others from the other academies of the other empires.
They also looked at him with varying expressions.
Isolde broke the silence, as a glint of coldness flashed through her eyes.
"Friends, this fellow is extremely powerful. We all know how terrifying this Kailen Darkhaven is. He killed Chandler Valeria, someone rumored to be the strongest rank 5 novice stage Transcendent among all the rank 5 novice stage Transcendents in all the five academies of the empires in the Tesla Domain. If we don’t take him on and eliminate him, who knows what will happen to each of us?"
Everyone was quiet after she spoke, ruminating over her words.
What she was saying was true.
This was the only safe place in the Meridian Belt they had discovered.
The moment Kailen Darkhaven discovered them, they came out and each of them realised they were not the only ones here, each group decided to thin down the numbers of the other group so that the requirements for ending the competition would be fulfilled.
But, before that happened, Kailen Darkhaven had to die. He was the most dangerous person here.
He was like a sword of Damocles hanging over their heads.
Everyone nodded in tacit understanding.
"This Isolde is really manipulative. She wants to use everyone to get rid of me since she has realized she won’t be my match in a direct combat, huh," Kailen naturally discerned Isolde’s reason behind her actions.
Also, he looked at the others from the other empires’ academies.
"Looks like they’ve agreed to her proposal. They want to get rid of me first before they turn on each other," Kailen mused. "Looks like I have to go all out."
Since they wanted to kill him, then none of them would be alive to enter the secret realm.
Everyone watching the stream, from those confident in Darkhaven’s power to those who were pessimistic about him, asked themselves the same thing: "Even with the help of the others on the Heavenly Fate rankings, could he take down all these geniuses if they acted together?"
Ragna stepped forward.
A crimson halo surrounded his figure and turned into crimson flames.
The crimson flames turned into a large flame handprint. He waved his hand. The large flame handprint shot towards Kailen with overbearing might.
Isolde followed. Gales of wind spread across and transformed into several ginormous wind arrows. The wind arrows arranged themselves into some sort of circle, then started spinning like a wheel, shooting towards Kailen.
The second ranked from the Imperial rankings of the Andromis Imperial Empire Academy slashed forward. Streams of darkness billowed forth, and streamed towards Kailen Darkhaven.
The first ranked from the Altair Rankings of the Altair Empire Academy waved her hand.
The temperature turned chilly.
A large great sword formed from ice manifested above her.
The large great sword made from ice shot towards Kailen Darkhaven.
Several others also launched various principle attacks at the same time. All the attacks shot towards Kailen at the same time.
The others on the Heavenly Fate rankings knew they would not last a second against all these combined attacks.
They stared at Kailen’s calm visage.
His long coat fluttered. He took a step forward, the void rippled and twisted.
