Chapter 184: Chapter 177 East City District
The eastern district is still some distance from the Tree Domain Camp, so it’s unrealistic to think of extending vines to reach this area.
However, under the swift low-altitude flight of the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon, it wasn’t long before they penetrated deep into the eastern district.
Roars of monsters continuously came from within the mist, but Su Han paid them no mind, his target being the pharmaceutical factory.
‘More monsters than in the northern part of the city, it seems no one has bothered to clear them out for good.’
Whether it was the southern High-Tech Industrial Park or the northern district where he was located, both had undergone numerous clearings. Although not the entire city areas were covered, it at least reduced the number of monsters.
The fewer active survivors, the more concentrated the traces of monsters.
As he approached the Baiyu Jing Pharmaceutical Factory, Su Han soon felt the level of Spiritual Energy rising, and the roars of monsters become even more dense.
A few minutes passed, and after piercing through the foggy shroud, a crack roughly seven to eight meters in length appeared before him, with Spiritual Energy streaming out non-stop.
An extradimensional space crack was situated next to a tall building. Due to the appearance of the crack, half of the building’s structure had collapsed, leaving it a ruin.
In this area, a great number of monsters were active, looking down from the sky, they were as dense as a swarm of ants.
No sooner had Su Han’s Blood-winged Alligator Dragon appeared than it was discovered by Corpse Ghosts with dark grey skin and burly limbs. A deep roar erupted, and a vast number of them began to rapidly assemble.
“A gathering works in my favor,”
Su Han’s eyes flickered slightly, and the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon dove straight down with a beat of its wings. The Darkwater Cannon gathered in its mouth and, with a thunderous sound, exploded amid the densest cluster of Corpse Ghosts.
“Boom,”
As the column of dark water struck, a massive explosion resounded, shattering the concrete ground, and buildings nearby also crumbled instantaneously, with many monsters blasted into bits of flesh.
Su Han frowned slightly, muttering, “What a waste.”
The Blood-winged Alligator Dragon descended rapidly, steadying itself on the cleared ground made by the blast.
Lots of Corpse Ghosts swarmed towards it, roaring and launching an attack.
These Corpse Ghosts were nearly three meters tall, with tough, dark grey skin, ferocious large hands, and the horrifying faces of wild beasts with huge, gaping mouths.
Gathering in hordes, they had the momentum to shake the earth itself.
Chang Crocodile Prison
Controlling the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon, Su Han activated another skill. Massive amounts of dark water surged and nearly covered the ground around the dragon, viscous and writhing, it quickly clung to the leading Corpse Ghosts.
The dark water hampered their movements, turning their charge sluggish as if they were in a swamp.
Yet, even more terrifying was the vast dark water beginning to coalesce into the forms of the Chang Crocodiles—entirely black bodies with water streaming from them, roughly the same three-meter height as the Corpse Ghosts.
The slaughter began.
A thousand fearless Chang Crocodiles fought savagely within the range of Chang Crocodile Prison against the Corpse Ghosts.
They tackled the Corpse Ghosts to the ground, their sharp jaws and claws relentlessly tearing at the flesh of the Corpse Ghosts, ripping away large chunks of meat.
The ground was littered with corpses, exuding a strong scent of blood, a smell Su Han had long grown accustomed to, as he calmly surveyed the surroundings with an even gaze.
“No Second-grade Monsters; they are all newly appeared Corpse Ghosts. It seems they have wandered elsewhere.”
His gaze fell on the Scorpion Spider Demon, and he relayed an order for it to approach the monster flesh.
[Discovered material for Fusion: monster flesh. Proceed with Fusion?]
Fusion.
The Scorpion Spider Demon started its Fusion process, alongside the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon, continuously integrating the monster flesh from around them.
‘Spread out, look for High Order monsters.’
That was Su Han’s new command to the Mother Nest Ancient Tree. The Blood-winged Tiger, Tree-born Worm, and Vine Giant Rat scattered in groups, beginning their search within the eastern district of the city.
The Mother Nest Ancient Tree’s coverage expanded immensely, and Su Han was increasingly less worried about alerting the enemies prematurely.
Because by the time they were discovered, he was confident enough to intercept them.
However, along with the expansion of his lineage, more and more monsters were agitated. Some, with twisted wills and filled with a violent instinct to kill, even ignored the suppression of their rank and strength and charged in this direction.
But as soon as they got close, they were killed by the vines.
A large amount of flesh was sent to the front of the extradimensional rift to provide for the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon and the Scorpion Spider Demon.
Su Han dispatched the Winged Tiger Demon and Bonestead Rat Demon into the rift to survey, and after confirming it was safe, he personally entered.
The blood-red sky draped over the space like a canopy, and similar to his own base, the island surrounded by Spiritual Energy Blood Sea was the size of a small park.
But unlike Su Han’s territory, the surface of this strange island was not smooth, but covered with dark gray rocks, with bizarre trees interspersed in the gaps between the stones, like menacing monsters with claws outstretched.
There were almost no monsters on the island; the Corpse Ghosts had been cleared out, and occasionally the blood sea swelled and shaped into Corpse Ghosts, which were immediately killed by the Winged Tiger Demon.
With no particular peculiarities on the island, Su Han harvested the Spiritual Energy ore and then left.
This extradimensional rift was not close to where he was stationed, and setting up camp there would no doubt greatly divide his forces.
The current strategy, to clear it regularly or seize control of the entire northern district quickly, pulling in more manpower and resources, seemed more suitable.
Or perhaps deploy a squad of puppets in the northern district?
After emerging from the extradimensional space, the two Angel Envoys’ Fusion process was quite fast; an hour had passed, and they had already fused the majority of the monster corpses.
The Blood-winged Alligator Dragon’s Essence of Flesh had reached 78%. It hadn’t previously fused in this direction, usually integrating live monsters, so its Fusion Degree was lower and consequently, the speed faster.
However, on the other hand, the Scorpion Spider Demon’s progress was only at LV4 Essence of Flesh 21%, not a high Fusion Degree.
“The lineage is still killing and bringing in flesh, waiting until the end of Fusion to take action might be too slow.”
Contemplating his next move, Su Han heard the sound of tearing through the sky. He looked up to see the Blood-winged Tiger rushing back.
“Did you find something?”
His eyes flickered, and he immediately controlled the Mother Nest Ancient Tree to transform into an anthropomorphic state and, along with the Blood-winged Alligator Dragon and Scorpion Spider Demon, ordered them to quickly head towards the place where the situation was discovered.
