Chapter 459 Respect
Chapter 459 Respect
"Seriously? You guys will just agree, just like that? You heard him! We aren't obligated?" Ray raised his voice causing Belial to growl at him.
"Remember where you are, Ray." He spoke out of turn and he knew this was not allowed by his king. "Forgive me your majesty, you can punish me however you please." He quickly amended.
Hubris just gave him a tired look, Belial always did something like this. He wasn't patient enough to hold his tongue and trust his king that he knew what he was doing. Since he knew the kind of hound his advisor was he decided against punishing him.
He listened to the ramblings of Ray of the werewolf tribe, along with Kadu of the Kobolds. They were seemingly the only ones reserved to agreeing with this so readily like the others. Hubris could do nothing but shake his head, the Kanine were very stubborn.
As beings he was stuck with for many many years he understood them a little. They absolutely would never agree to something like this, they would never help without anything to gain in return.
He just wanted to test how far his authority can make them do something, to determine the future they had within the new kingdom.
"Well, what if I commanded that you prepare for this war?" Hubris asked abruptly causing the two leaders to be visibly uncomfortable with the thought of defying someone they've bowed to and accepted as their king.
Kiro's lips cracked into a sinister smile, he now understood a little what Hubris was trying to do. Asserting his dominance, it couldn't have been easy bringing every race and kingdom of the underworld under a single kingdom — Abaddon.
Of course people maintained their previous lands but at the same time they weren't held back by anything to move somewhere they wished they could've lived. Which was what some had done.
It was only then that Ray removed the longing in his eyes. Of course he knew Kiro was there but he got lost in his thoughts, he completely forgot he was also there with how quiet he was, he was still hiding his power so he seemed invisible right up until he said something.
"It's clear to me that this mut doesn't respect you and I don't like that at all, I can't have someone like him in this kingdom with my nieces and nephews here and all. I don't trust him." He hadn't taken his eyes off the being, he let out some of the kaos that was raging from within him.
He'd already sensed that some of Hubris' children were listening in on the meeting so he made it a point that the energy didn't pour outside the room and only accepted everyone in that room, well everyone except for Hubris whom was almost at the same level as Kiro was.
Everyone in the room started coughing and choking, the only downside was the fact that Belial was also affected. Tried as he did to limit the number of people affected, it didn't get any smaller than the room they were in.
After several seconds of helping his mount assert his dominance Kiro release them, the coughing that took place after would've made even a doctor scared.
"Your majesty what's the meaning of this, why should we be punished for these two?" Aenon asked rubbing his neck. "We've already agreed."
"Do you want me to do it again?" It was Hubris who asked, not wanting to make them think that Kiro was improvising and acting independently, he was prepared to use his gravity skill.
"Forgive me your majesty." Aenon bowed slightly and shut his mouth.
Ray looked at Kiro with much contempt before completely giving up in defeat. Some of them had seen first hand what the man their King called his master was capable of, if he could jump in here whenever he wanted then Ray knew he had no shot at the throne even with an army behind him.
"Great, I'm glad we are all on the same page. The reason it's important that we participate in this is because even our world could be in danger. We won't just be fighting foot soldiers, there are gods behind the curtain, gods that could come here and wipe us all out in one fell sweep. At least up there, their power is limited."
