Chapter 470 : 469: Shit! Master?!
"Defeat."
It was a bold and outrageous thing for somebody like Aethara to say that she had never tasted defeat.
Not only was she just a Dreadkeeper, a being that was equal to a tier 5, she was nowhere close to the power level of beings like the Supreme Ancestor and the Paragon Ancestor who were the only ones that had the right to say that they had never tasted defeat.
There were Ascendants who were at a higher power level than her, and then there was the Throne of the shattered dimension who was comparable to tier 7s and even some tier 8s.
There were countless people who were of a higher power level than Aethara, and to say that she had never tasted defeat was a ridiculous claim.
'Unless she never faced those that there were stronger than her like Ascendants, Tier 6s, and maybe even the Throne... However, I doubt this a lot.'
Corey's gaze shifted to Aethara who was now calmly approaching him with a calm and indifferent expression.
Corey gripped his axe, and took a defensive stance. The instant he took the stance, a voice flowed into his ears.
"Do you need help, Master?"
Corey shifted his gaze to the right, and even Aethara paused and turned to her left, her piercing golden eyes staring straight at Selene who was cautiously approaching Corey.
Corey raised his brows slightly, "I thought you were not going to fight."
Selene gave a dry laugh mixed with a bit of nervousness, "Well, I can't leave everything to my Master right?"
Corey furrowed his brows slightly, and then he glanced at the army of the Anacletus clan. Just as he had expected, the majority of the army was dead, and the sight of the corpses could cause nightmares even for the bravest of souls.
'Just like I expected... some of the Harbingers are still alive. Though they're weak and distracted at the moment because of the poison.'
Corey knew that although the mixture of his two poisons was powerful, it would be difficult for the poison to kill some of the Harbingers in the army.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Harbingers were similar to tier 4s, and just like the massive gap and difference between tier 3s and tier 4s, there was a massive gap between Seekers and Harbingers.
Corey asked, and although Selene was confused as to why he was asking, she quickly answered.
"A sword."
Corey nodded, and then he stretched his left hand to the black fog of poison behind him. His pure white eyes glowed, and with a thought, he manipulated the wind runes in the air, and a second later, a turbulent wind blew in the black fog of poison, however, the black fog of poison did not dissipate despite the strong wind.
Instead, a sword that was being carried by the wind flew out of the black fog, and then it stopped in front of Selene.
Selene's eyes were wide open, and she could not help but stare at Corey in surprise. Her mouth parted open to speak, however, in the next second, she felt shivers run down her skin and her eyes widened to the limits in fear and horror.
Her instincts sent blaring signals to her, warning her of an incoming danger that could take her life.
'Crap.'
This was Selene's last thought before a figure collided into her, pushing her away. Before she could comprehend what just happened, she heard it and then she felt it.
CLANG!
SCREEEECHH!
BANG!
Selene screamed as a powerful shockwave slammed into her, causing her to fly and tumble multiple times on the ground before coming to a stop.
She mumbled a curse, and then she quickly looked up. The instant she did, her eyes widened in shock and disbelief when she saw a figure flying towards her. The figure was flying toward her with its back facing her, and Selene instantly knew who this figure was.
"Shit! Master?!"
Selene cursed out loud in disbelief, and she instinctively raised her arms to protect herself. However, the force that sent Corey flying toward her and Corey's weight was more than she expected, and she crashed into the ground the instant Corey's body crashed into her.
BANG!
