Chapter 562 561: Manipulation, Transcendent, Intent, Failure

Chapter 562 561: Manipulation, Transcendent, Intent, Failure

Infinite Mirage, Silent Steps, Arcane Elemental Runeweaving, and Runic Transmutation. These were the four skills Corey found easy to improve out of all the skills he desired to train in.

The following skills, Dreamfire Manipulation, Vibration Manipulation, Poison Manipulation, and Axe Intent, were skills he found particularly difficult to improve.

Dreamfire Manipulation was at Master level proficiency.

Vibration Manipulation was also at Master level proficiency.

Poison Manipulation was also at Master level proficiency.

Meanwhile, Axe Intent was at Expert level proficiency.

Before the Battle of Chosens began, Corey decided to browse through the E-Underworld to learn more about skills.

The price he had to pay just to learn some knowledge regarding skills was extremely high, and it took approximately 20% of his wealth just to purchase the information. One should not forget that he was a drug lord, and his wealth was more than 95% of the residents of the Underworld.

In fact, his wealth was increasing even while he was in the Shattered Dimension.

After purchasing the information on skills, he got to realize a lot of things about skills he was ignorant of.

The first had to do with Manipulation type of skills.

According to the information he purchased, Manipulation type of skills were skills that were so rare and desired even by Tier 7s and above. The information stated that any individual who possessed a Manipulation skill was destined to be an elite figure as long as they focused on the skill and increased their proficiency to at least the Master level.

Manipulation skills, most of the time, are the most important skills in an individual's skill set, and they usually influence the path one would take in their advancement to the... peak.

There was a particular reason why Corey did not increase his proficiency in some of his skills like Silent Steps to the Transcendent level.

A Tribulation.

According to what he learned and what his senses and instincts were telling him, the moment he increased the proficiency of any one of his skills to the Transcendent level, he would face a tribulation which would test if he was... worthy of the skill.

Corey had no idea what it meant to be worthy of a skill, but one thing he knew was that the commotion it would cause would either be massive or it would perceived by the powerhouses of the Shattered DImension or the powerhouses of the Underworld if he decided to improve his proficiency in the Underworld.

Corey knew he could not do such a thing. Besides, increasing the proficiency of a skill to the Transcendent level was not easy even for him.

According to the information he purchased, not only would there be a qualitative change in the skill, but a Transcendent level proficiency of any skill would grant future benefits to the individual, especially when the individual is about to undergo a major evolution, like a Tier 3 becoming a Tier 4, and a Tier 6 becoming a Tier 7.

After increasing the proficiency of these eight skills, Corey also focused on one other important but rarely recognised skill he had.

Axe Intent.

Corey obtained the Axe Intent through a blank intent seed, which he got from the Paragon Ancestor.

When it came to Intent, it was one of the few things Corey had very little knowledge of. However, what he knew was that the abilities and types of Intent were extremely vast.

He also got to realize that his Axe Intent was weak, not 'complete', and was at its base form. There were several types of Axe Intent, and to gain a 'complete' Intent, he needed to understand himself and his axe more.

He needed to understand more about axes, develop a genuine connection with them, and then he would develop a complete intent.

Because of this, Corey failed to increase the proficiency of his Axe Intent, and it remained at the Expert level. Even Corey was surprised by this despite working so hard on the third day.
