Panther Learning Trait: Feedback

November- (N)eeds and Gives Feedback

Feedback is information about your progress toward meeting a learning goal.

Learners who use feedback, are looking to improve as they work towards a goal. Feedback is not advice, or praise or telling someone they did a good job or bad job. Feedback increases understanding without giving the answer.

Here are some things you can do to help use feedback as a learner:

  • Be specific with feedback
  • Feedback should be focused on the success criteria
  • Present feedback in a positive way
  • Give feedback immediately
  • Learners should both give and receive feedback

Here are some examples of feedback:

  1. I like the way you started your essay with a question. Also, make sure to include evidence from the text to back up your opinion.
  2. You were able to add the equation correctly but check your multiplication again.
  3. Remember to add at least 2 specific details to support your main idea in the story.

Throughout the month of November we will focus on the Chubbuck learner trait of feedback. We will look for students who are giving and receiving feedback to help meet learning goals.
